We had DJ Sho (Jose) this year as our DJ - we also rented the photo booth and cold sparklers through the DJ Firm. DJ Sho did a fantastic job of keeping our guests on the dance floor and the party going! To no fault of Sho's, there was an audio hiccup but he was able to recover and pick the party back up. The cold sparklers were a hit - we added them on last minute ourselves -I highly recommend them to anyone even remotely considering them!! In terms of the process of selecting songs and lining things up, the site that the DJ Firm uses makes it really simple to do so. One thing to keep in mind when booking is that the style of most of these DJs is not to play full songs but to mix into and out of songs (fairly) quickly, so you will want to make sure that is your style before booking. It definitely kept our guests engaged and on the dance floor! The only thing I wish was that there was two photo booth attendants included as for a portion of our evening there was no attendant around, so guests were left to their own ways to ensure enough photos printed. However, DJ Firm helped ensure we were able to get copies of all of our photos! Tip: make sure to have something available for them to put the extra copy in ! We had missed that there wasn't something provided by default. I highly recommend the DJ Firm and their crew for all of your event needs!

No one wanted the party to end, the dancefloor was packed the entire night which was our goal. We have the most fun group of friends/family and every single one of them had an absolute blast. We will recommend you to everyone we know so we can have even more amazing nights like Saturday. We can't thank the DJ firm enough for the energy and joy you brought our group. The saxophone was an absolute electric hit and everyone is still raving about that too. Out of this world performance from DG Sax & DJ Sye. Such an iconic duo of extremely talented gentlemen. They made the night one that every single person in that room will remember forever and ever. We just can't thank you enough

We hired Bill Pollack to provide the music for our wedding. We wanted live music and we knew we'd…read morepay more to get it, but I wouldn't exactly say that money was no object. From the beginning, the experience was extraordinary. Bill was responsive, honest, and focused on our needs from beginning to end. First of all, he really took the time to understand what we wanted. Since we wanted live music but for only about 100 guests, Bill suggested we use a 7-piece band rather than the full 11 piece orchestra we had originally heard about. The only difference, he explained, is that he drops the horn section and uses pre-recorded horns when necessary for a full sound. That suggestion alone saved us a couple thousand dollars, and the 7 piece band sounded fantastic. In addition to the band for the dancing, we wanted acoustic guitar music for the ceremony and for the cocktail hour, and dejay'd music for the dinner hour. He arranged all that as well. The musicians learned all the songs we wanted them to learn for our ceremony and did a great job on all of them. I also really appreciated his honesty and professionalism. He was truly interested in what kind of music we wanted to hear at the wedding, asking a ton of questions about what we listen to at home, what we liked at other weddings, what we didn't like, what we hated, etc. He was upfront that he didn't want to completely relinquish creative control to us because, let's face it, he's the professional and knows what the people want better than we do. They played exactly what we asked for at the ceremony, and then for the rest of the night they combined our specific taste preferences with their feel for the room to keep people engaged and having fun all night. Bill did the emcee responsibilities himself all night, introducing speakers, etc. He was very professional and personable, never over the top. He didn't verbally bully people into coming up to dance, he just kept tweaking the music until he won the whole room over. I just can't say enough about Bill and all of the musicians he brought with him. They were hands down the best vendor we dealt with in putting together our wedding, and they are a huge reason why the night incredible from beginning to end.

Recently, I had the pleasure of having Bill Pollack play for my wife and I at our wedding…read morereception, and it truly made the night. The Bill Pollack Orchestra is the most professional collection of talented and energetic performers I have seen in this setting. Normally, wedding bands inspire thoughts of cheesy gimmicks, recycled play lists, and less than stellar performances. Bill Pollack breaks the mold, and then some. Starting at the cocktail hour, Bill and two other members of his band played upbeat, classic jazz standards to keep the mood light. They were smooth, jazzy, and on point with all of their renditions and already a big hit of the evening. During dinner, they performed again as background music for the meal, and Bill served as emcee of the festivities. As great of a musician as Bill is, he may be even better at emceeing, and he always was on top of things and easily broke in and out of music to make special announcements, keep the evening flowing, and seamlessly returning to playing beautiful tunes. Then, the real reception started, and the dance floor NEVER cleared. Using his full arsenal of performers, Bill wowed every single guest, and we are still hearing weeks later about how they were the "best wedding band" many had ever seen. Wanting our night to be truly memorable, Bill took every request we made and ran with it. We wanted my groomsman to sing the first song, and he made it perfect! That was truly the first "Unforgettable" moment of the evening. The first half of the evening they played standards, disco, and swing era music. The music was a perfect mix of dance, slow jams, and classic standards. Needing a break, the musicians took a 30-minute rest and Bill took over duties of DJ and kept the dance floor humming. Upon returning from the break, the rest of the night was a blur because I have NEVER seen a dance floor so lively! Once they started with a spot-on rendition of "Moves Like Jagger," it was on! Sweat was flying, grandmothers were dancing, and nobody was leaving the floor. Every single musician in the band truly poured every ounce of energy into each song, kept every guest engaged, and rocked their show. We can never truly thank Bill enough, but we will say that he comes as the most highly-recommended professional musician/DJ that we have ever witnessed. He is a joy to work with, easy to contact, and an incredible talent. THANK YOU AGAIN BILL! Dustin and Alyssa

Our group was 11 children and their adults. I was impressed upon our arrival. Jeanette, our coordinator, and a few of her fellow performers were setting up the theatre when we arrived. They were very welcoming to my children, husband and me and even brought out some coloring books to distract our children while my husband and I set-up for the party. They were helpful with my questions about party logistics and while there are only 2 tables to use for food, gifts, etc, the 6 year-olds didn't mind eating on the floor. Our performance started which included 5 performers and a guitarist, Kyle. I expected there to be audience participation, but the level we experienced was amazing and surpassed expectations. The show started along the premise that the original script was lost so the audience needed to help with storyline and details. Once the location and characters were established, the children were invited to draw on three big sheets of paper other details that would be important and included in the story. I LOVED that the children were given multiple ways of participating in the performance(drawing setting, orally giving suggestions, acting on stage during performance). The staff was engaging with all the kids and improv is tough enough with adults much less kids that may not always be willing participants! There wasn't a lot of current information out there about this great kids venue in NorthCenter, so I felt like I should share my experience so more people can join in the fun! From the beginning of my party planning and emailing Joe, one of the owners, to the end of the party, all of the staff members were very professional. Thanks Bughouse Theatre! We can't wait to visit again soon!

This is long because I have a lot of really good things to say about Bizar…read more I spoke with a few other organizations but knew I would hire Bizar for my son's bar mitzvah after about 5 seconds of conversation with Jeff. He TRULY knows what he's doing. From the rehearsal in the Bizar studios where you get to choose your own DJ/MC/Dance team, to the well-organized planning process, to an unbelievably rocking party with 65 kids who never sat down for FOUR STRAIGHT HOURS, Bizar delivered on every level. Jeff's staff is extremely well-trained to make middle-school kids feel comfortable and appreciated for who they are. The staff is hip, cool and on-trend, yet clean and completely unintimidating. They model amazing behavior for the kids and the kids just eat it up. We requested all current music, were able to specify artists NOT to play, and decided on no corny, retro adult dance set; despite that, all the adults wanted to be on the dance floor too. This team also ran our entire party. I had no party planner. Jeff told me several times that I wouldn't need to watch a clock or do a thing, and I didn't. The whole night was planned out and executed to the minute by Bizar. Jeff personally met with me and the venue staff to make sure everyone was on the same page as to when apps/cocktails/entrees/dessert would be served, when blessings/speeches would happen, when party favors would be handed out, when our montage would be shown, etc., and everything ran like clockwork. (Our party was at Wishbone North, an untraditional venue with some configuration challenges, but Bizar made it all work.) Jordan (a rock star himself!) and other Bizar team members checked in with me more than once - but not too much and unobtrusively - throughout the evening, to ask me if everything was okay, did I need anything, just let them know if I did, etc. They engaged the kids in games from the second they walked in the door, and as my son said, "transitioned seamlessly into dancing." When there were 45 min left, the point at which I would normally worry the kids might burn out, they cranked it up to fifth gear and kept everyone engaged to the last minute. Kids came up and personally thanked me, and have been posting and chattering about the party ever since. My son felt like a rock star, and many parents have told me we set the bar high with our party. I can't stress enough that I believe Jeff really has his act together and values and priorities straight, and that's what accounts for Bizar's (and our party's) success. I hope to get him engaged with our school district to spread some of this good stuff around. Thanks for an evening we'll never forget!

Ruby was so easy to work with, flexible for what we specifically needed for our non-traditional reception, and ultimately made our night more fun and memorable than we could have possibly hoped for. Ruby gave us the millennial dance party of our dreams (I will be thinking about us all scream-singing Such Great Heights as the OPENING SONG of the night for the rest of my life). The entire night was absolute banger after absolute banger. I am not exaggerating when I say several people grabbed us through the night and told us how incredible the music was, and literally every single person I've talked to who came to our wedding has made a point to tell us how much Ruby absolutely killed it. I don't even write reviews like this very often, but I just cannot possibly say enough good things about the vibe Ruby helped create for our wedding and I need everyone to know!! To quote another reviewer: if you need music for your event, don't hire a live band, HIRE RUBY!!

She was so good at reading the room and curating the music to keep things moving. Also, from the DJ booth, she exuded an infectious enthusiasm about the party--a sort of benevolent magic showered upon the crowd that encouraged people to stay on the dancefloor for "okay, one more song!" (and then another, and then another...) In our 1:1 meetings, Ruby was patient with all of my questions about how DJ-ing works. It was a pleasure to tell her "this is sort of what we are thinking...", for her to help us clarify, and then to make it happen! Finally, I want to echo a prior reviewer's comment: our music tastes feel (to us) pretty wild: a very niche mix of Chasidic EDM, Israeli religious pop bangers, remixed Yiddish folk songs, disco, 80s new wave, and indie pop by queer artists. IT WAS ALL IN THERE. Musically speaking, our wedding was very much a fun, dancy representation of who we are. And none of that could have happened without Ruby's talent and hard work! I hope you have the blessing of being able to work with Birds and B-Sides.
