I gave him a chance, and he came over and discussed my needs. He sent me an estimate around the next day. After that he completely disappeared. I sent emails, texts, and left voicemails to no avail. He never responded again. It takes a special lack of integrity to waste the customer's time and your own. Just like several other reviewers on Google I can't recommend due to lack of communication and honesty.

A crew of 3 workers arrived, along with the company owner. All three jobs were completed within 1.5 hours. The quality of work was excellent. The price for the job was also very good. This was a "NO" so that 20k of work went to another contractor. Note this was the beginning of January so I assume not a super busy time. By mid March I still did not have a quote/idea on how much addition would cost...not even a ballpark. I was the one that kept calling/checking in to get status update. Needless to say I decided to end discussion. The new company starts work next week. Poor customer service/communication cost this company in excess of $150k of work. Another company is starting work next week. The only reason that I'm posting this is that I'm looking for additional work to be done and realize how much I depend on/look at reviews.

All the workers we dealt with were pleasant and relatively competent. The reason I would not recommend Coastal Contracting is primarily due to the lack of follow through with their one year warranty on materials. Our addition has been completed for about 9 months at this point, and we have had 3 distinct issues come up. Twice the HVAC has failed, and once the shower plumbing was malfunctioning. The first time the HVAC failed was right before the ice storm of early 2026, and we called the installing company to arrange service. They came out promptly and fixed the HVAC (faulty part, but we now had heat!) but we were told that we had to pay out of pocket for repairs since we did not first contact Coastal in writing. Ok. It then failed a second time right before the heat wave of July 4th weekend, so we contacted Coastal. We did get a personal email back after business hours saying that they would contact us after the weekend, which after 2 business days we have not heard from them. Again we did some repairs on our own. The plumbing issue happened between the two HVAC issues, so I was wise to submit my request for service in writing and followed up with a phone call, during which I was assured I would hear back...which I never did. It is just disappointing. Also disappointing were the many mis-ordered parts and vanity that delayed our project, the cut corners that we had to be vigilant about inspecting, and the surprise few thousand dollar increase in fee for a plumbing issue they did not see when they were quoting us. They admitted they didn't look under the house as they should have (I thought we were paying for their expertise?), but assured us that we could be happy that we were still getting a good deal. Maybe these hiccups and lack of communication after they get their check are all normal on a project of this size-I don't have any other point of comparison.

Right now, it's tough trying to find a contractor to do work, much less good work. I was pleased and satisfied with the whole process. The owner came and made the estimate on the promised day at the promised time, they then gave me an honest price that fell in my range of estimates. I opted for new fixtures and tile resurfacing in the shower, as well. On the day the job was supposed to begin, they showed up in the morning and worked diligently for the next several days, completing the job in the timeframe they gave. Overall the experience was great. On top of that, the work was excellent. The shower looks brand new, my floor is modern and nice, and everything is symmetrical and color matched to provide a perfect aesthetic. Jeff and his team took the time and did it right. They kept in touch and never had a problem with keeping me in the loop. I'd recommend to anyone based on this experience and I'll use them with my next bathroom or tile remodel, for sure.

Absolutely disappointed in results and customer service. The website states that the owner does the…read morework himself and guarantees satisfaction.... not true at all. Two employees came to do the initial job and there were several areas that needed to be fixed. The owner came to do the repairs but ended up painting the shower floor the wrong color and not repairing areas specifically discussed. Another visit, new paint on the floor again, a couple more repairs... each time an area was repainted it left crackle marks and is very obvious. Within a week the newest layer of paint began to peel up... after yet another repaint (all this time I had expressed concern that the lower portions didn't seem to have been well covered and perhaps just a total re-do would be best) I gave up on trying to get satisfactory results. It also took repeated attempts to get the owner to contact me back every single time and even then he was clearly annoyed by me. None of these issues were caused by anything we did so I didn't understand why I was made to feel otherwise. Total waste of money... the floor doesn't come clean and you can see areas of the old blue color still and areas of exposed old grout. There were dings left in our freshly painted walls and areas can be seen on our brand new tile floor where something was dripped and ruined the glaze on the tile. Total waste of money- 100% unhappy.

Long: Had a roofing leak into my kitchen - they came out the same day to look and after assessing took the time to meet me at the roof to talk me through his thought process of necessary work - pointing to areas of concern. He tried to save me money by calling an outside consult just to make sure we couldn't get by with a smaller repair. Ultimately he was concerned about leaks/rot beneath my EPDM membrane. Work: Removal and reinstallation of my patio deck, stripping all rotten wood, and replacement with new wood/EPDM membrane. Thankfully I could pop my head in upstairs just to watch every once in a while and loved what I saw - if the material wasn't quite aligned it was cut until it fit appropriately. If there was ANY rot they took care of it. They aligned my neighbors roof and mine (townhouse). In one case, a screw wasn't exactly right and there was 1mm of movement so they screwed in a second screw to make sure it was tight. All of these attentions to detail was in areas I would never have noticed if I just saw the final product. They care and in fact left every aspect of my roof better than before (including making sure my patio wasn't loose as it was before which wasn't even part of their job).

Chris Fleming, the project manager, came back out and saw the mess and immediately requested that dispatch send another team out. Diego and Wilbur came today. Dispatch told me before they came that they are an A+ team. They were absolutely wonderful. They cleaned the bathroom until it was spotless. They had to tear out a bit more of the paneling in the basement and some more ceiling tiles and they cleaned and sanitized EVERYTHING in that basement. We are very happy and cannot say enough what an awesome job they did. Thank you to Chris Fleming for making this right, and thank you to Diego and Wilbur for your professionalism and amazing work.
