And just like the last time they came over, they provided an analysis and a thorough explanation about what the current state is, what I can do to keep things tight, and what I can expect if problems arise. Stable Foundations is one of those rare businesses that provides this service for free, and they do not try to sell services that are not needed. So even though I didn't need them, Zach assured me that they will continue to offer this service and talk to me as needed. I am confident that if I did have foundation problems, they would provide great results for a reasonable price, so I would highly recommend them for anyone who is concerned about their foundation.

Kavie Thrift at Stable Foundations is amazing. I sent an email to the general inbox one night, and…read morereceived a phone call from Kavie the very next morning. Without hesitation, he inspected the crawlspace that morning and provided a thoughtful evaluation of what needed to be done. Kavie provided a fair proposal to address the problem. But, as a testament to his honesty, he also disclosed that the problem may not need to be addressed at all if sufficient time has passed to indicate that the settling is complete. No pressure or sales tactics: just good, honest advice -- for which Kavie did not charge me a cent. I'm grateful that my inspector referred me to Stable Foundations as an honest and effective firm. Kavie is the first and last person I'll call when it comes time for a foundation repair. I highly recommend.

The main work was done very well and professionally. The contract, however, also called for drilling a long hole into the end of a wall through multiple cinderblocks to drain the water intrusion that was getting specifically into the basement's stairwell wall. There was no other access point to the bottom cinderblocks of the stairway wall. It was a clever solution written into the contract, and the provision specifically stated that JES would bring a 36-48-inch masonry drill bit in order to drill a hole long enough to accomplish the goal. After the team completed the main work, we pointed out the need to finish the job by drilling this hole, but they did not have such a long bit with them. We then reached out many, many times over many months to get this hole drilled. Most often we were met with silence, but when we ultimately have gotten a response, the person would say, "Sorry, we will get that done." Twice, JES workers have actually shown up -- but without a long drill bit. They would then look at the situation and understand why the long drill bit was needed, say they would arrange for it to happen, and then radio silence. After we posted a longer version of the story as a review, apparently higher-up JES management people got involved and pretty quickly sent someone out with the right drill and bit to finish the contracted work. Presumably, some HR training has happened also and given that the job is now complete with the vast majority of it having been done well and in a timely manner -- I've now upwardly revised my rating.

The crew arrived on time and worked non stop. The work was completed in 2 (two) days and we have not seen even a hint of moisture despite a rain storm of ~ 3" over 26 hours!! But I wanted to address it, so I did some reading of reviews and made an appointment. When I got the estimate I almost choked at the price, and knew right away that I needed to get at least two other estimates. It occurred to me that realtors probably run into this issue with clients, and would likely have some experience with companies, so I called two friends who are realtors in totally different areas of the city. Both immediately recommended Bone-Dry, so I didn't seek out a second estimate. Bryan's estimate was about a third of my original estimate, and didn't involve the use of sump pumps, which I've heard nightmares about from others. The original estimate included the use of two of them. I couldn't be happier with the results. The work was done in August, and I've not seen so much as a drop of water since. And I've never seen such a hard working crew as those that did my job. They were here for two days, and they never stopped working at all except for about a 30-minute lunch break. I can't say enough about Bryan and his team, and HIGHLY recommend Bone Dry. Leslie F.

For six months Joists kept breaking even though they said only a few needed replacing in the beginning. mold keep getting on the wallama in the house . . Time and again they kept spraying for mold . No one could give me a reasonable answer as to why the crawl space encapsulation wasn't working and mold kept growing . About the time we were going to sign the fourth contract to have work done , a family member had to step in for us . I was having headaches that were 24 hours a day . Vertigo so bad I had to stop driving . My husband was becoming confused and could not concentrate . The relative was standing on the crawl space encapsulation membrane because the floors and under flooring had been removed when a sun ray shone on his boot . He and two JES employees got on there needs and followed the beam of light . It lead to the door of the encapsulation .It was inches too short . Moisture was getting in as well as mice . This meant the dehumidifier was working hard to keep up with the moisture that was getting under the house . Mold was everywhere. The joists they were sistering to had mold all on them . We discovered the three contracts we already had were not consistent in pricing . Each contract was higher prices . Our relative had them gut all the work they had been doing out because it was ALL done wrong . They finally did the work correctly. Then I discovered they had dropped the second building permit and never had their work inspectEd through the county . I had to email the county and request one . I would NEVER recommend this company .

    Xtra Hand - Carpet extraction

    Xtra Hand

Please read this if you're considering hiring Xtra Hand!…read more I honestly didn't want to leave such a bad review, but Xtra Hand has really put me in a tough situation. This is the first negative review I've ever left someone. I hired Xtra Hand to perform some work on my property. There was a lot of work that they cut corners on, did wrong, or simply didn't do at all, but for this review, I am going to focus specifically on the electrical work they got wrong as an example. Part of this job included running electrical wire to my kitchen for a hot water heater. Josh Williams (the business owner) informed me that the job was done, but that my hot water heater was broken. Josh requested I pay the remaining invoice for the job, and since I trusted him that the issue was not with the electrical wire they installed, I naively paid him before inspecting the work in person. I figured I would fix or replace the hot water heater myself. I spent the better part of two days troubleshooting the hot water heater, trying to figure out what was wrong with it, and it turns out the hot water heater wasn't broken at all! Xtra Hand had incorrectly wired it. I really shouldn't have had to be the one to troubleshoot for the professionals, but I realized they had installed a 20 amp fuse (which had blown) between the 40 amp hot water heater and the breaker. Not only that, but they installed the wrong size wire. The instructions, which they had left on the counter, clearly indicate that 8 AWG wire would be required for the hot water heater since it could pull up to 40 amps. For some reason, they installed 10 AWG and 12 AWG wires (thinner than 8 AWG wire). which could be a fire hazard, so I'm glad I noticed this. I reached out to Josh Williams, and brought the issue to his attention. He said his helper Angel Ramirez did the electrical, and that he would look into it, but after that, he stopped responding to all of my texts and calls. I gave Josh two options that he could choose from: 1) Correct the issue 2) Refund me for the cost of labor and materials It's been over a month, and despite his promises of, "Yeah I know it seems like we're trying to pull your teeth, but it's honestly a lot of time and work that's in it but we're going to do it right and you're going to get an incredible job guarantee it." and "I'm more than certain you'll be very pleased with the results." Josh has decided to continue ghosting me. I don't understand his decision to ignore me, because a bad reputation is going to cost him a lot more in business than the thousands of dollars he owes me. At this point, I don't trust Xtra Hand to correct the issue, so I'd rather them just pay me back for the cost of the electrical work. I'd even consider improving my review if they do. My advice to anyone looking for a contractor would be to look elsewhere. It shouldn't be too hard to find someone with more integrity who is also less expensive. TLDR: Xtra Hand promised they would do a great job, but they improperly installed the electrical to my kitchen (fire hazard). Instead of correcting the issue or refunding me, Josh Williams has decided to ignore my texts and calls over the past month, so now I'm down thousands of dollars with wiring that needs to be redone.
