I have been having a great time at Xbarre until today: the weather was worse than expected. Thunderstorm outside. Yet, I was told that no class could be cancelled. If you can't make it, great, they will charge an extra $15 late cancellation fee plus what you already paid for the class. There is basically no policy considering inclement weather, which I find to be very inhumane. Shall consumers go to Xbarre with thunders above their heads or face financial penalties? What if something bad happened? Who is responsible here? I suggest that studio management reconsiders show-up policy during inclement weather.

Xtend is already beautiful at the reception with smiles and sympathy. It is a clean place, with lockers to store your stuff, and water fountains. The bathrooms are large, clean, spacious and complete. The classrooms are spacious and there is a care for the class not to be overcrowded, with the objective of not harming the development of each student. Their mobile app works great, it is perfect! You can schedule your classes, and even join a waiting list. They have a wide range of classes, all dynamic and exciting, that will make you challenge your body. Everyone is welcome to join, regardless of fitness level. The instructors are wonderful, they are all friendly, attentive and dedicated! They always hold promotions, their social networks are very dynamic and always updated, it is a great communication tool. They do fitness challenges such as bingo and "planksgiving" aiming to further encourage the practice of physical exercise and constant self improvement. They throw special events during the holidays, all very creative and very well organized, with healthy snacks and drinks. Almost a year after I joined, without a doubt, Xtend Barre is my second home here in the USA, I feel very well and welcomed. Congratulations to all for the beautiful work developed daily. Beijos!

I honestly don't have enough nice things to say about xtend barre. The staff, the atmosphere, and the quality of the classes are absolutely top notch and very much worth the value. The studio is immaculately kept, with both a clean look with little homey touches. The equipment is well-maintained and frequently updated. From the moment I first walked into the studio, the owner, Kelly, made me feel welcome and that is truly the vibe of the studio. The staff is extremely friendly and kind and makes it fun to come to each class. Every member is greeted by name by all of the lovely girls who work and instruct there. It really feels like a community at xtend barre and everyone is brimming with positive energy and good vibes. The studio offers a variety of classes including barre, Pilates stick barre, circuit 7 (which is basically a HIIT class), and even dance. And trust me, you won't leave a single class without getting a serious sweat on! All classes are taught by qualified and knowledgeable instructors. Every move is given with both advancement and adjustment options. The staff all work hard to correct form and make sure everyone is both getting the most out of the workout while being safe. If you are looking for a fun workout with a great community to do it in, xtend barre is the place for you!

To be so girly about it, aren't flowers in the bathroom lovely?

One of the nicer boutique studios in the area! If your primary method of working out is yoga/barre then this is the studio for you.

Every single instructor teaches such incredible classes and has great instructors like I barely look at whose name I'm signing up for. The strength and cardio slay. The class times are perfect. Everyone is friendly and positive and uplifting. They have dry shampoo in the bathrooms. The studio is beautiful like the brick and plants everywhere are so good. It's so clean and they give you a disinfecting wipe (not Clorox like a good wipe) for your props at the end so the props aren't grimy. It smells good because of the lemon candle they use. In general just such a positive space and the vibe is not to hate on your body it's to modify and like be balanced and functional The essential oils is what I will especially highlight because basically at the end of class they waft around these essential oils during breathwork and I am in loveeee with it!!!!! I will say I wish they had more retail that's my one thing

The way that these workouts and community clear my mind is amazing- I'd return for the mental health benefits alone. The classes are both accessible and challenging but at your own pace. They really take the time to emphasize that every person is different and only you know what is best for yourself. They are happy to push you to grab heavier weights/keep going but also take a break/be kind to yourself if that's not in the cards that day! There are very few exercise studios that can find that harmony in the exercise world- but this place nails it. It's super clean, the instructors energy is contagious, and I leave proud of what I did every time. There just aren't quite words to describe how wonderful this spot is!

I feel like I got more accomplished in 45 minutes than I do sometimes when I work out on my own. Furthermore, it was actually fun and time flew by. It was definitely a full body workout. From arms and shoulders, to core and glutes, you're going to get it in. As Hope said, "what you put into it is definitely what you get out of it. " If you're doing these moves right, it's definitely not easy. You will absolutely be sore the next day. This is my second class with Hope and the first at the studio. I would absolutely recommend! Can't wait to come back. I also love that you can book classes directly through the app. Give it a try! The studio is super clean, there are lockers for your stuff and you don't need to bring a mat.

I have nothing against barre. The workouts in and of themselves are fun and challenging. However,…read morebefore taking classes or entering a membership at this Pure Barre, I'd like to warn you all against a few things. 1) I signed up for a 3 month commitment membership, which came with a set of extra classes. What I was not told, however, was that the extra classes expired after 30 days. Luckily, the studio manager gifted those extra classes back to me - all the same, it would've been nice to know ahead of time. Second of all, I was not made aware that there was a 30 day cancellation notification requirement. So, despite the fact I cancelled 28 DAYS in advance, I was still charged $99 for a membership the next month that I have no intention of using. Please be aware of both of these policies. In my time as a fitness instructor, I've never seen studio so clearly exploitative. 2) While the instructors are nice, many of them give the impression that they don't want to be there. Again, from a fitness instructor perspective, the energy that the instructors bring to class is critical, and when I can tell an instructor doesn't want to be there, it can make the class substantially less enjoyable. If you're considering barre, I'd honestly encourage you to try a different studio than Pure Barre.

False Advertising and Shady Policies - Stay Away!…read more I am extremely disappointed with Pure Barre. Their website is completely misleading. They advertise "no commitment - Cancellation will be effective at the end of the current period for which you have paid" and make it seem like you can cancel anytime--this is NOT true. Once you sign up, you find out there is actually a 30-day cancellation period, which is nowhere clearly stated during sign-up. This is blatant false advertising and completely dishonest. When I reached out to cancel, I was told I had to continue paying for another full month, even though I no longer wanted the service. It feels like a scam designed to trap people into paying more. I expected better from a fitness brand that claims to empower people. Instead, I felt tricked and taken advantage of. If you value honesty and transparency, do yourself a favor and avoid this location.

I really like the instructors who…read moreprovide hands-on corrections unless you prefer not to receive them, who will challenge you and motivate you. I've been complementing my gym workouts with solidcore and has been great for core strengthening but there are daily muscle focuses that are tough too. Membership isn't cheap but I've found having a not-so-committed membership (4x per month) in addition to classpass (for flexibility of either doing solidcore or something else) is a good pace for me. Edit: after reading some reviews, I wanted to say in the classes I've been to, there have been heightened attention from instructors to ensure people have correct form. If you don't, you may get injured. That's with any sport or workout. Also, if you're new, look around to see if you're doing it wrong. Hell, 50+ classes in and I still look around sometimes. Lastly, nearly all the exercises are slow movements. Unless the instructor explicitly says to go fast on army crawls or up downs, you aren't trying to break the record for most reps. Some classes, I've seen people breeze through. First, you're likely not getting a workout and second, you're increasing risk of injury.

I've been coming to Solidcore consistently for the past 7 months, and it's hands down the most…read moreeffective workout I've ever done. I've always been active and played sports growing up, but I struggled to find something that kept me motivated as an adult. Solidcore changed that. With no major lifestyle changes (I work a desk job, eat decently, commute mostly on foot/via transit and still drink most weeks), I've seen a huge transformation in my body. I am probably the most fit I have ever been. The coaches are great - Sam is the best, but you can't go wrong taking a class with Alethea, Sofia or Mary Kate. The vibe is always supportive but challenging, and I actually look forward to going. I also really appreciate how receptive the team is to feedback. On the rare occasion something's come up, they've been quick to address it and super responsive. No substantive complaints about the studio itself - especially considering it's one of Solidcore's lower membership tier locations. It's technically in NW DC, but it's billed at the Maryland tier, which makes it a way better deal than the other DC studios with more expensive memberships. The only thing I'll note is that this location doesn't have a live phone line, which can make it tough to get ahold of someone quickly if something comes up. Not enough to deduct a star, but I do wish they'd fix that. If I had one suggestion for the company overall, it would be to remove cancellation fees and shorten the cancellation window. Life happens, and a little more flexibility would go a long way for members. In short; If you're looking for a fun workout that will push you and actually deliver results, this is it. I even brought my 55+ year-old dad to a class and he loved it. Highly recommend.
