I was hesitant to go to Ford directly, and saw the good reviews for Paton's, so I called them first. I was prepared to pay around $7000 (money I certainly did not want to spend, but assumed I would have to) to get the transmission replaced. I believe Rick answered the phone, but whomever it was basically said to me "Look, I have heard your story before - as much as I want your business, take the car to the Ford Dealer. There is a strong possibility it's covered under warranty.". Well, sure enough - took the car to the Ford dealer, and the entire transmission was replaced for free under warranty. THIS is how you build trust, by being honest and instead of just taking the money I assumed I would have to spend, by pointing me in the right direction. THANK YOU to the Paton team and I look forward to bringing my car there in the future :)

I brought my car to have the thermostat replaced and was quoted the astronomical price of $3600 because they attempt to add on every single thing that could possibly be done to the car at once. This practice doesn't seem trust worthy and I feel like they could easily take advantage of someone. I was very disappointed to say the least. Meineke is a bad vibe.

So this place is awesome for the fact that they are very friendly and extremely reasonably priced…read more(for a brake job, they easily quote me $100 less than my trusted mechanic). They replaced my muffler for so cheap that I thought surely the thing would fall off or something within a month -- but still holding strong almost a year later and no problems (although my husband thinks that it's smaller than the previous muffler-- not my area of expertise). They also have super fast service. On two separate occasions (muffler, then brakes), the work was completed in about half an hour. They also let me buy my own parts (brake pads) at Autozone and bring them in since they said I'd save even more money that way. Thank you! So anyway, I bought my own pads, but then the staff at Mufflers told me that one of the pads were the wrong kind (Autozone grabbed from the wrong shelf). Since my car was already up on the rack, the worker at the front desk told me to use his truck to go to Autozone and get the right pads. How cool is that that this guy trusted me with his nice truck (sittin on nice rims)! So I went and got the pads and the job was done in 15 min. However... I would have given this place 5 stars if not for a small mishap. After getting my brakes done, I noticed on my drive to work that same day that I had a brake warning light on. Coincidence? I think not. After going back the next day to talk to the staff member, Jesus, who did my brakes, he assured me that it was nothing they did. He didn't bother to check it out because he said that the blah blah blah isn't anywhere near the blah blah and therefor they couldn't have been the ones to cause the light to go on (sorry for the lack of details, I obviously don't understand car jargon).... So I went to Autozone to get some guidance and the guy was really helpful there by getting under my car and taking a pic of the problem -- they simply forgot to reconnect a sensor wire, which was causing the ABS light to go on. So I again went back to Mufflers for Less and talked to the same guy, showing him the pic. He said he still couldn't imagine how that would've happened since he never disconnected that sensor, but nontheless he got under my car and snapped it back in. Problem solved. Just wish he would've taken a look and done that the first time I came back! Other than that, this is a great place to go to if you're on a budget and want good, fast service. I will keep going here for my brakes and mufflers... Considering their outstanding prices, I wish they also performed mechanical work! Side note: they speak Spanish in addition to English here.

Sam's son drove with me in the car to hear the sound that I was describing and decided that it would be a quick fix to shave down the worn rotors since they were disproportionately scraping against the new brake pads. Once again, they said if it kept giving me problems to return 2 days later- My car is still making the scraping noise. I told Sam that I had been there twice before and the small fixes had not worked. He recommended replacing the rotors. I decided for the best outcome, I'd replace the brakes and rotors since I've had all parts since the very beginning. After another 4-5 hours, they replaced everything and charged me $180. This is where I got upset. So from a simple problem, I ended up paying $240 for labor and about $80 for parts. Which nearly puts me back at the dealership prices. Because Sam acted as though he would fix the problems free of charge or for a discounted price when he told me to return if the small fixes didn't work, I thought I was getting the best deal in the beginning. BUT knowing what I know now, I would've just had them replace everything from the beginning and saved almost $100 and 9 hours of my time which both are precious during this pandemic.

Anyone who's ever taken their car to a new shop knows that uneasy feeling of not knowing what kind of integrity or accountability you're going to get. What happened next completely changed my opinion of what an auto repair shop can be. City Tire & Auto Repair handled the situation with professionalism, honesty, and a level of integrity that honestly exceeded my expectations. There was no argument, no runaround, no excuses. Instead, they stood behind their work and showed a genuine commitment to doing the right thing for their customer. Their dedication to the quality of their work and the excellence of their service is real, not just something they say. You can tell they care about their reputation and, more importantly, about the people who trust them with their vehicles.
