I chose Pete's because I was in Burbank and the reviews were good. I went there and the receptionist did a great job explaining the process. They promised that their fix would help me pass the emissions test and it did. I did not expect to pay that much but I wasn't in a position to get estimates. I had also recently experienced a broken door handle and a window that kept getting stuck due to a recent theft attempt and I was frustrated. The staff sensed my overall frustration but agreed to fix my door for the same price and i took the deal. I would recommend them because they were responsive and fast and their staff was amazing! They took my car to the emissions test so that was one less worry and I was able to go back to my life. Bravo Pete's! Petes is a good shop and I would use them again!

That is where the nightmare began. My husband was suddenly hit with a terminal illness and I was left to take care of all the problems my husband usually handled. My truck's engine light came on and I was told by Carmax that I could bring it to them or to an auto repair shop that was recognized by the warranty company that I purchased the car from. My husband had used Pete's for emissions before and it was on the top of the list. They discovered my truck needed a different engine. I say different because it certainly wasn't new. The cost was quoted as $10,000 which was paid by the warranty company. So why now in September 2026 is the truck still having the same problems??? Actually it is worse! After at least 5 times to this shop my car is spewing out clouds of white smoke!!! They picked up the truck on Monday 8/24/26 and returned it on 8/31/26. I drove it to work and back home. As I was driving so much smoke spewed out of the back of my truck I thought it was on fire! And of course my husband died in February this year so I feel like I am taken advantage of as a woman. I am devastated that I can't trust this guy. I have no recourse because I can't trade in the car.It is clearly a lemon and I am being treated like a fool.

I called and explained that I had a P052E code related to the PCV valve/intake assembly. After I gave him the make, model, and year of my vehicle, Ronnie suggested I contact the dealership first to check if the repair might still be covered under warranty. I really appreciated how thoughtful and honest that was--he easily could have had me come in and pay out of pocket. I followed his advice, and sure enough, the repair was fully covered under warranty. I was extremely grateful for that. I do have a few other repairs that need to be done, and I will definitely be going back to Ronnie for those instead of the dealership. That will be a first for me, as I've only ever gone to a Mercedes dealer in the past. Ronnie is highly recommended! I will definitely give an update once the repairs are done.
