    Beautiful artisan chocolates. Delicious too.
    Carolyn L.

This is a must visit place if you are a chocolate lover or snob. The owner knows her chocolate. It was a joy chatting with her and learning about the various types of chocolate. If you like hot chocolate and make your own, you can ask to buy the chocolate nubs. They are available by weight so you do not need to buy the actual package. Plus no tax if you do the by weight thing too. Some samples were available and they were amazing. The fancy truffles and artisan chocolates were so gorgeous. I bought some ($1.50 each) and had them on the spot. Delicious! Though they would be much better savored at home one at a time with intervals. I could not wait. Lol. The house dark chocolate truffle was simple and plain. Pure chocolate heaven. For the artisan chocolate, I tried the matcha yuzu (very light citrus flavor), the lavender (beautiful violet color and was also lightly flavored) and the salted caramel Venezuela. They were all so good. Oh the cake was great too. Gluten free. We had the triple chocolate mousse. So yummy. This is the chocolate I love. I will gladly make the drive to Squamish just to buy the chocolates here in future.

Triple Chocolate Mousse cake with Sea To Sky Gondola themed decoration for my child's b-party. All made from Xoco's chocolate! (June, 2023)

Xoco's cakes are awesome - as amazing as their artisan chocolates, hot chocolate, ice cream bars and people & services! They even made the yummiest triple chocolate mousse cake with cute decolation for my child's birthday - Maple the bear and us were on the Sea To Sky Gondola... And what's the awesomest was that it's ALL MADE FROM XOCO'S CHOCOLATE!

Of course we had to stop by our favorite cafe and donut shop, Fox & Oak. Love how they have a good variety of vegan and regular options for the donuts (they have gluten free too). I am not vegan but I can't digest milk protein well so I am always looking for dairy-free and vegan options. We got a vegan cinnamon sugar donut, regular passion fruit donut, and vegan apple fritter with raspberry icing to go. While at Whistler, we broke out all three and shared them before having lunch at Hunter Gather. All the donuts were delish!! We were all impressed by how fresh and soft they all were. Also, I didn't think I'd like the apple fritter with raspberry icing that much but I ended up liking it the most! On our way back from Whistler to Vancouver, we couldn't help it--we stopped and got two more donuts! Yep, it was a double donut day. I am not ashamed to admit it. Don't judge me until you try this place. Thank you, Fox & Oak!

Once we tasted the donuts and coffee we understood why there was a line. 3. We liked sitting outside where you had a nice view and could enjoy the sun.

It's rustic in that honest, country way: wood, warmth, and a smallish-town Squamish vibe that makes you slow down whether you meant to or not. The location does half the work for the ambiance, the rest comes from the feeling that someone actually cares about feeding you well. This is home-cooked brunch with intention. Portions are generous without being sloppy, and every plate feels thought out, like it's been tested by real people who eat breakfast for a living. The pancakes are the headline act--huge, fluffy, unapologetic, and exactly what you want when you're leaning back in your chair wondering if you should order another coffee or surrender to a food coma. And if the night before got a little loose, the double Caesar is a public service: bracing, restorative, and delivered without judgment - oh my aching head. What really seals it, though, is the staff--genuinely welcoming, on their game, and clearly proud of the place. The Crabapple Café isn't trying to be trendy or precious. It's just very good at what it does. A must-try in Squamish, especially if you believe breakfast should be comforting, filling, and a little bit healing. This is not our first time, and definitely not our last. The cafe has become our way station before heading up to Whistler. CHEERS!!!

The menu has an Italian and Greek touch. They also have a full coffee menu, and I noticed the tea selection was especially impressive with quality brands. I got a green olive sandwich, which was an interesting combination of hummus, fig spread and fresh figs, olives, and arugula on a pita. I thought it worked surprisingly well! The overall flavour profile of the sandwich was savoury - the figs didn't stand out as sweet when combined with the other ingredients. I also got an iced tea (lapsang souchong - a tea that I really like but rarely see in tea shops) and what they called an "ugly but beautiful" cookie. I don't know what the type of cookie is actually called, but it seemed like a meringue-based biscotto with crunchy nuts inside. It was good - I liked the texture! I liked how they decorated the store, it had a homey vintage look. They were swamped when we visited but the staff was very pleasant nonetheless!
