They came with two good sized cakes and were slightly mushy in the middle but I would order again. Also has the NY Strip which was great and theShrimp Linguini with garlic sauce. Hands down this is always the best meal on our trip. Love the food, the service and the coziness of this little restaurant.

Stopped for dessert only. They have a nice dessert menu and our group tried almost everything. The gooey butter cake trio was the best (pictured). Wait staff was very gracious, especially considering we were only there for dessert. Only downside was loud music, but it was later in the evening, so it was to be expected, I guess. read more

XO Bistro was a good place to dine. It was our splurge night for a nice dinner and it was pretty great. The food was awesome. We had reservations but waited a little bit for a table, which was okay. They were quite busy and we waited awhile to get ahold of our server a few times when we needed something, but couldn't get her attention. The wine was okay, not our favorite as recommended. Definitely not a place for kids. Overall it was a pretty good place and I could see ya going back. read more

Decided to check this place out after being on island for awhile for work. I've heard great things and not so great things. Unfortunately my experience was on the bad side. I never even got a chance to try to food, I was sat outside at the ONLY outdoor table and promptly forgotten about. After about 15 min I decided to inquire inside if I was going to be served. We had a terrible experience with amber at XO. She was very rude and told us our reservation was cancelled after 15 minutes late. She also admitted that she had the wrong number to call back even though she pulled it off of caller Id. We came to Xo tonight on recommendation from some people in our party. We called ahead as we were told to do at the beginning of the week since they do not take reservations. We had a party of 14, and did not expect to sit together due to capacity and restrictions. We were given the option of sitting outside (we said either would work), and were told they had made accommodations for us at 4 different tables outside. Once we were seated and had ordered drinks outside, the police came to tell us the restaurant had not obtained the "okay" with the city to seat guests outsider, so we were moved inside. That was a little annoying but okay, we did not mind. Once inside though, the staff seemed to scramble to accommodate us due to the unexpected arrangement, which was understandable. What was subpar was the waitress for the bigger tables. When one of our guests asked what the catch of the day was, she stated she did not know. That was it. No "oops I'll go check" or anything, just a plain out annoyed "I don't know. It's been really busy (it was 5pm, mind you) and they haven't told me yet what the specials are". Our guest said well my order depends on the catch of the day because I might get that or the tuna. The waitress still stood there and said well I don't know. We asked if maybe she could go ask (hello??) and she honest to God loomed at us like we were the crazy ones. She also indicated that it was too late to order appetizers because other people already had ordered some and this was the time to order entrees. We said, well...can you just not put our entrees orders in right away and let others order appetizers too? She did, so graciously. When she finally came back to let us know what the catch of the day was, she said, in a very sassy way, "it's swordfish or tuna and it's prepped exactly how the menu describes it, before you ask." Whoa girlfriend, your shift just got started! Turn down the attitude, geez. The food was meh. We had the blackened tuna, espresso encrusted steak, shrimp linguini, bacon wrapped chicken, garlic bread (probably the best thing that was ordered), street corn guacamole, and brie appetizer. Our guests who had recommended XO and been there before said it wasn't nearly as good as before so maybe that's due to Covid or a new chef, but either way it was $60+/person for subpar device and food. 10/10 do not recommend. Check out Caribbean Seafood Market in Cowpet Bay for better food and service! read more

This is the best restaurant on the East End hands down. They have an amazing Prime Dip sandwich for lunch and their dinner menu always impresses. Apart from the food, it's a great place to meet both locals and tourists. Parking can be an issue but there is normally room behind the building if needed. read more

Good atmosphere, good service and the quality of the food was excellent. A bit spends but worth it! This was our "night out" venue in the last night of our stay in the islands and it exceeded expectations. The food is wonderful - presentation, portion sizes and overall composition / flavor are spot-on. Very thoughtfully done. Hope these guys never get rid of their chef! I'll definitely go back. My only complaints are the parking (it's a pain in the neck to get up into the lot and if there are no spaces available you're screwed, but that's Red Hook for ya') and they initially messed up our cheese tray appetizer order (supposed to have four cheeses, came with three - they forgot one - and too few crackers, but our server was great and fixed it right away when we pointed it out). Good wine selection (I had one of the Rieslings, forget which but it was good) too. This place is worth a trip out of your way to go to! Do it! Cozy little spot in red hook that 2 different locals recommended. Great flavors on everything we tried and everything looked great that came out to the larger party next to us. We had the seared tuna w sesame app, xo salad and the New York strip w some tasty mashed potatoes and asparagus. Everything was prepared very well and came out in a timely fashion. We also loved our cocktails...a cucumber martini, some other cucumber cocktail and a strawberry basil cocktail....all excellent. This place was a little louder than we expected as its centered around a large bar and brings an upbeat sociable crowd with fun, mainstream music playing. We were visiting from NY and had shrimp linguine with Parmesan cream sauce and asked to add garlic to the sauce and we still can't stop talking about how delicious it was. This was a great little restaurant and bar. I had the lasagna and my husband had the pork ribeye. Both were excellent. Big portions and lots of flavor. They have an extensive wine list as well as a full bar. Service was great. The bartender was also our waitress. She was very attentive. Definitely a place to try while on the island. read more

I'd prefer to give zero stars because on two weekday nights in a row around 6PM during the off-season, my party of 2 did not get past the hostess. We did not have reservations, but like I said, we tried to go on two weekday evenings during the off-season. On the first night, the hostess told us to come back in an hour, which we skipped. On the second night, the hostess could not write down our names and instead invited us to make a reservation for a different night. I won't try to visit again. read more

From time we entered we felt a negative energy from the hostess. Food was average. Definitely didn't get a "WOW" factor. We went to XO Bistro for lunch on a Monday. It was So darn good from the moment we walked in the service and Hostess were both inviting, cordial and super welcoming. I ordered the Mimosas Specail for $5.00 and The Cuban Sandwich with a small Ceasar salad for $13.00 + 3.00 for the Salad. It was excellent the bread was fresh the pork was moist the swiss cheese was gooey and the dijonaise and pickle just the right amount of tart plus the serrano ham brought this entire sandwich to perfection. My husband ordered the Prime Rib Sandwich dip with potato salad. His sandwich was $19.00 the bread was fresh the prime rib was medium with gooey cheese and hoseradish sauce and an aus jus for dipping. The potato salad was great. It was prepared with a savory element and not a sweet base you could taste the mustard and pickles in the sauce. No miracle whip here thank god!!!!! My hubby also had a Mimosa for $5.00 and a coke. So or total bill was well worth the quality we received. I highly recommend XO Bistro i cant wait to go back for dinner! I wanted to like this place based on reviews but we didn't make it past the hostess. They were only open at 6 so I'm not sure how at 6:05 the bar was full with very wasted groups of people. The hostess ignored us and went off to do some random things. Came back and said hold on with no hello or greeting. Mind you I'm standing w a very small baby in arms. Anyway another 5 minutes of standing around being ignored we left. Some of the worst customer service so far on the island. Oh and based on previous reviews I was worried I might be underdressed... It took a while to be greeted...The server to table ratio seems low but the hostess helps bus the tables and the food is brought out from the kitchen by a food runner. XO has a great vibe, The place has a cool swanky feel to it. We were brought here by a local friend that lives on the island who is somewhat of a foodie himself.
