I was sold a cable lock that I did not ask for and they would not return it or give me store credit. The dollar amount was not much, it was the principle of the thing. The salesman put the lock in the bag with my other items. He never asked me I wanted it or needed it. In addition, the wait time is unreasonable their salesmen are not responsive to the fact that people wait for hours and receive poor service in the end. From a political economic perspective this is a negative business model. I am not buying anything else from Turner's Outdoorsman.

Sometimes it's intimidating, as a female, to go into serious sporting/outdoors stores because people are often judgey, but this place was SO welcoming and had the best vibes because of these men! 100% this will be my go-to outdoorsy store because of the great customer service! We looked at their binoculars called "nocs," and they were REALLY good quality, and pretty! They came in different color options! I ended up buying 2 pairs, a green and a blue, and I am in love!! I'm going to use them for bird watching. They also sell everything you can imagine for rock climbing, camping, outdoors cooking, maps, and more. Definitely coming back!

The clothes are all mixed together and not separated by size, color or gender. Though, if you ask one of the associates, they'll point you to the best place to find what youre looking for. You'll still have to do some digging/searching, however. To my surprise, many of the items were actually in great condition and not damaged, faded or pilled. Some still had original tags on them. The store and clothes weren't smelly, which was a huge plus. They also have two bathrooms available, which appear to be clean. I purchased 6 T-shirts, a pair of sunglasses, a pair of shorts, and a Sunday Afternoons hat for just $11.40. I then went back and got a furniture item because it was priced really well. It's a better deal than regular thrift stores if you can take time out of your day to sift through all the items.

They suffer from what most motorcycle sales places suffer from, pretty girls working who were obviously hired for looks and have little to no knowledge about motorcycles, and mechanics who probably passed their training less than a year before getting a job there. I purchased a motorcycle there in 2006, and was told I would receive a 10% discount on any parts I purchased form them. There was no limitation on "items that were on sale/clearance" mentioned. I only ever get flak from the sales staff when I try to get it applied, and have had them flat out refuse to give me discounts on items that are on sales (I had to talk to a manager, but he eventually approved it). I had them do two valve adjustments, the first one came out ok, but the second time they had my bike for 2 1/2 weeks until they finally were able to finish it and give it back. In all, if you have to shop there, make sure you know exactly what you want and don't let sales/parts people push you around.
