This is hard for me to write…read more A while back my mother got a mammogram at her doctor and she told my mother she should get a core biopsy. Her primary care had found calcifications in the mammogram and she wanted it checked out. My mother went and got the biopsy at the Women's Health Center in Lima. After a week, she was asked to come in for her test results. The test results were being given to her the day before Thanksgiving and since I was off work, i told her I would take her and then we could have brunch together. It was easy finding the health center as it is in the same medical center as my dermatologist. We went inside and she checked in. We sat in the waiting room for about five minutes before we were called in and were taken to a room which looked like an office. I started to get worried because, this didn't feel normal to me. Two women then walked in and introduced themselves to me. One was the doctor who performed the biopsy, the other was a social worker.... and the doctor informed us my mom has breast cancer. I literally felt the room spin on me. I must have obviously reeled or showed something because they wanted to make sure i was ok. I wasn't but i tried to compose myself. The doctor told us about what was found, and the plan. They had a team of doctors... a surgeon, a oncologist, a radiological oncologist who would be working with her along with the social worker. The social worker would be there for my mom thru things and we were given the information on what we needed to do. They also said the surgeon would come to the womens health center the next week to check her over. I am thankful and appreciative that the Women's health center found my mom's cancer so we can do something about it. I am also happy so many of the services are there and will be there like the social worker and the radiological oncologist. At the center i noticed that there is also a wig center located inside that my mother may end up having to use. Like i said, this was difficult to experience and write about. All i can say is this... if you are a woman, get routine mammograms. Get checked out!

I swear I think I have written more reviews of hospitals, medical centers, doctors and other health…read moreoriented centers this year than ever. Why? My mom was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer back in November 2021, and the cancer spread partly into her lymphatic system. It has been a journey first through surgery, then chemo and now radiation. She came for a month's worth of radiation treatment at Lima Memorial Cancer Institute and I am thankful for the care she received here. My mother always said everyone here treated her very well. She has since finished with her radiation treatment. Hopefully this journey ends soon on a positive note, we are still going thru it... still thankful for the help we received from this cancer treatment center.

My mom was diagnosed with Breast Cancer the day before Thanksgiving last year. It was an incredible…read moreshock to her, to me and the the rest of our family and started an ordeal we are still going thru today. The first stop after several more tests was surgery and this was performed by Dr. Jeremy Heffner of Midwest Surgical Specialists at Lima Memorial Hospital. Originally the doctors believed that my mom had two lumps one which was stage 0 (pre cancer) and one stage 1 (early cancer). The plan was to excise the cancer and then perhaps have her do radiation treatments after with a radiation oncologist. They still prepared another oncologist who is an expert on chemotherapy in case it was needed. On December 14th the operation happened... a few hours later I am told by Dr. Jeremy that the cancer was more serious and that it may have spread into her lymph nodes. He removed several of them also that looked cancerous and had them sent to be tested. You can imagine this was terrible news to receive and I will admit I got very emotional. December 27th then came for the follow up with Dr. Heffner did reveal that the cancer was indeed more serious and would need for her to go to an oncologist for chemo. We were then transferred to the care of Dr. Xiusheng Qin for chemo. They stay in contact as Dr. Qin performed more tests to see how far into her lymphatic system the cancer spread and they both decided further surgery was not needed. I am thankful for Dr. Heffner's efforts in surgically removing the cancer my mom had. Just the first phase in a long process to help my mom hopefully beat cancer.

I see Ellen in Dr. Rhodes office. She is exceptional! Very thorough when checking, notices small…read moredetails, and is proactive. All staff are friendly and upbeat. The infusions are as pleasant as they could possibly be.

I seen Dr. Ranganathan who is supposed to be a board certified neurologist. I think he isn't even a…read morereal doctor. He appears to have memory problems, can't even understand what he's even saying. orders too many unnecessary tests and medication. I will not be going back. I do not recommend this doctor at all.

This is a message about what I thought of my stay here. I have gotten better care of taking care of…read moremyself when I have the flu. When I first got here, without explaining anything, stripped me down to nothing and just had me lay there, like a piece of meat, and took my clothes without asking if I want to keep anything and kept staying around my private areas. Then, I have anxiety, and I asked for my medication, Fluoxetine/Prozac, and I never received it. Then they kept trying to swab my private area, and it was completely unnecessary as to why I was here. Also, they kept trying to take my weight and write it on a board for display and I asked that's what you're going to do then you're not getting my weight so I wouldn't let her have it. Also, I had an accident in the bathroom and asked if it could get cleaned up, and that never happened. Lastly, why would a nurse take a blanket off a patient's bed and put it across the room? Is this the kind of sensitivity training you give your people?
