My first experience was a disaster however, now I visit this spot often. Friendly, attentive staff and great hookah! Prices are reasonable for the area and quality of the hookah. Some renovations were done and I must say it looks great! Recently, my friends and I visited and were given cards to play while we smoked our hookahs. Nice touch! We also tried the food.. The sampler is definitely worth the $10, unlike other hookah places.. The wings and French fries taste fresh not frozen. I would definitely recommend to others! read more

My friend and I went here after getting food at TGIF. We got the coco jumbo with ice tip. Flavor was really good, smoke was awesome. It lasted pretty long too. Only reason I'm giving this place 3 stars was cause it was absolutely FREEZING in there, the decor is super dark and dingy, and the service was alright. This place gives a cool/chill vibe, its not really the place to come if your in a party mood, unless you like dancing in your chair (the Dj is really good). The hookah is good quality too. I give this place 3 stars, because I'm really into appearance, and the furniture just looks a tiny bit run down to me. But the prices are good for Hookah. If u get little finger foods, then the bill won't be that affordable for an average college student. That's mostly the age range you see in there. I have been to this lounge a few times. They renovated the place since I have last been there. I had the Green Lantern with ice base, it was really smooth. My friend and I ordered food this time, we were both pleased. I had the veggie pizza with a mango shake. She had a burger with fries. The service is really good and the prices are reasonable as well. Happy hour is a bonus! The music does tend to be really loud compared to other places, but other than that it was good overall! read more

This place has a special place in my heart. Have been frequenting them for years and just went back last night and the Mango Mirchi, Green Lantern, Cherry Lemonade and various Pan flavors are on point. The majority of hookah lounges in Queens sometimes experiment too much with many Pan flavors and candy based flavors while losing the overall essence of the experience. It's just a mixture of various Al Fakher's but you actually taste the flavor within the mixture itself which is commendable. The atmosphere is also relaxed with a location where parking isn't a far cry compared to the usual New York hustle and bustle. A good innovation is that their food menu is tied in to a nearby restaurant and their Masala fries, chicken cheese steaks, and even pizzas are made very well for a hookah lounge. Sometimes the hookah will die out soon but the new staff does a good job of refilling it in a timely manner. Last but not least, a conversation can be had with company or a NBA game can be watched with the announcers as opposed to this weird trend that other places have which play the usual Top 40 music loud while the game goes on and the conversation can't even take place due to Drake or the new Punjabi one hit wonder blasting in your ears while your screaming on top of your lungs. Highly recommended for a good wholesome experience. Never change for the worse. read more

I'll start by saying today is the last time I will be going to Xhale. The service has changed tremendously and I have been going there for 3 years. I went last night to smoke some hookah and grab food. The hookah was white ice and it was good but completely burned out in an hour. As for the food, we got the Wild Wild West burger with hashtag fries and the Yee-haw burger with masala fries. The food was brought to us without any condiments and there was masala on both fries when only asked for it on one. We waited patiently for ketchup or sauce and nobody brought it until we had to go all the way to the front to ask for it. I usually get ranch or honey mustard as well and asked for that. Both orders of fries were completely stale as if they had been refried. That was most likely the case because we went a little before closing. NOW WHEN WE GET THE BILL, there's an extra charge of 7$ along with the burgers. I understand being charged 2$ extra for masala on one and hashtag fries. But these people charged us 2$ for masala instead of $1, 2$ for each fries when it was supposed to be 1$ for the hashtag fries. And they charged us 2$ for a tiny cup of sauce. This is the first time I was charged here for asking for extra sauce and received bad service. The server kept saying I was wrong and didn't even try to understand from my perspective. I'm done providing service to a place that does this to customers. Treating customers like that is unacceptable and adding a bunch of extra fees to scrape money from customers isn't great either. read more

Disappointed. I heard a lot about this place and I thought I'd give it a shot. I asked for something very fruity and minty.. They suggested Green Lantern flavor. We tried Green Lantern and it had a strong tobacco aftertaste. We informed the server about it and he tested it himself. Took it in the back to 'fix' it. Brought it back and asked me to test it now, after changing the base/pipe. It still had the aftertaste. When he came back, I asked if they can just switch it up with a different one like paan masala. They said that there will be an $8 charge. So instead of paying the extra $8, we stuck with the one we had, on the basis that I did not think it was fair to pay extra for a good hookah that we came here to get. They actually took it back twice to try and address the issue, and even change the head of the hookah to try to fix it, however, it still had the same aftertaste. If they were going to change the head anyway, why not give the customer what they had asked for (change of flavor to a different one)? I asked the server to change it to a different flavor after their first attempt at fixing it. They told me that it would cost extra, then right after that, they take the head off and take it to the back - which I assume is to refill it or change it. At that point, why not just change it to a different flavor that I had suggested? Oh to make matters worse, asked for a Moroccan Mint Tea, never got it. Since the store was pretty much empty and they had no excuse like being too busy. Not about the money, but more about the principle of what's right and wrong. Disappointed in their lack of customer satisfaction. I am a regular at Firdos in Astoria and if I had this issue there, I know they would change it at no extra charge. I had a similar issue at Firdos when I first went there, but they quickly addressed the issue and as a result, I was a regular customer at Firdos. xHale lost me as a customer due to their lack of customer satisfaction and I won't be coming back here again. Advice to the management: Don't lose potential regular customers over $8. read more

The hookah here is really good!! I've been to several hookah lounges both in Queens and Manhattan, and this place definately gets 5 stars for flavor and variety. They have sooo many flavors to choose from I still have yet to try all their specials. The staff is attentive and they always come around to make sure everything is okay. The music can be a little too loud @ times making it hard to conversate but its good music and they play everything. Im not even exagerating as i give 5 stars to this place. The reason to why they deserve five stars is because the staff is amazing, The food is great, the hookah is perfect, and i never had a problem with anything. When i need the check, the staff quickly accomadate me and my boyfriend. I even came here for several birthday events with my friends and can see how the staff is trying to give their all to their customers. they even have sets of Cards for people to play with, and large screen Tv's. If you don't like where you're sitting, you tell them, and they try to sit you where you feel comfortable. (if there's seats left). The Manager of this place is nice. I really dont understnad why there are some reviews that bash him, just because some people have friends under 18 that could not get in. it is his job to check ID's and to make sure everything is going well and smoothly, so these people should stop being angry over this rule. Considering I've been here a few times (mainly for connivence in location) It's not TERRIBLE but I've definitely been to better. If you're in forest hills, although it's a bit of a walk I'd suggest going to Desert Rain instead. The prices for hookah at Xhale aren't bad but they do have kinda stupid regulations/restrictions like one hookah per couple so if there are more than 2 people with you, you must order a second hookah. Which kind of sucks for me personally because one of my close friends never smokes but she just comes along just to chill with us. Not only that but then they'll still charge you grat and tax which I don't mind but why force people to pay for an extra hookah then if you're gonna make us pay for their presence? I could understand if there's like a group of 5+ and they only order one hookah but I feel like it's kind of shady to add limitations to people who only have a party of 3 or 4. I remember I came here on New Year's Eve with three of my friends around 9pm, I ordered hookah, drinks, everything's good, I was ready to order more hookah, get lit... then around 9:15 the waiter decides to tell me that there's a cover charge of $30 per person starting at 10pm because they're gonna have bellydancers and free food for everyone. Then 10 mins later a different waiter tells us the same thing but even sooner that we would have to leave at 9:30, I had to tell him a waiter already told us we we're good until 10pm. Aside from the owners obvious miscommunication between staff AND customers as a business owner---- What kinda?! You mean to tell me he couldn't have told us there was a cover charge before we were seated? Me and all my friends already ate Japanese food before we went there so there was really no way we were gonna spend freaking $30 per person. Ridiculous. I understand that Austin Street isn't the cheapest or most fun hang out spot so I get why they make people spend more but I feel like their marketing tactic is pretty cynical. When you're sitting there with your hookah and bucket load of money of course, the customer service is ok, they could check up on the customers more often in my opinion but they seem to have better things to do. One of the worst hookah lounge i ever been to they had broken glass on top of the table and never took care of it they seat us up on a broken glass table by mistake i cut my hand because i didn't notice i complained to the manager and he called the cops instead of giving me first kit to clean up the blood and also he knows we were going to report this. The management is really dirty and cheap they don't take care of the tables, seats and hookah. All the seats have holes and i saw bugs around the seats. The hookah are terrible we got three of them and 2 of them was really bad we started coughing we told to exchange for another they said we have to pay to change but we just got it and it was bad. I would give it a no star but i don't have choice to give a star. Plus they was asking there own employees to write good review about them and if you see 5 stars oh you know thats false. This place has potential but the lack of service makes it horrible. The only thing this place has going for it right now is its many varieties of hookah choices and the hookah is actually good. However why they only put 2 pieces of coal instead of 3 boggles my mind. It is a good idea if the service was of quality, we only had our charcoal changed 1x in the hour we were there. I wish I could review the food but couldn't get anyone to our table to order any. The prices are a bit expensive for queens and if they want to charge quality prices then quality service should definately come with it.
