Terrible. I live in a studio apartment and only need Wi-Fi for 1 individual (myself). I don't have a TV or Netflix account and they still tried to sell me a $60 package. Internet prices in the U.S. are extremely overpriced in general. A year later they are now offering a more reasonable price of $30 ($29.99) but I will never go with them. I can add a hot spot to my phone for $10 a month which is what I wanted in the first place. Poor customer service, overpriced, not worth your time. FOR NO REASON. they were friendly when i called. 2. they will lie to you about what channels their online TV has. I asked for NBAtv...they said "sure!" thats part of our sports package...they don't offer that channel. they were friendly when i called. 3. they are incompetent. I asked for TNT. the package they initiated was incorrect for TNT. I had to call back to get the entertainment package upgrade for TNT. (also is when I found out the dont actually have the NBAtv channel) they were friendly when i called. 4. When I finally got TNT on my online tv service I recorded a couple of games... when I attempted to watch them...they would skip forward about 30-50seconds EVERY 4-5minutes of the game. and sometimes as frequently as 1-2 minutes ...HOW DO YOU WATCH A GAME AND KEEP THE JOY and SUSPENSE of the game when it skips forward every other 5 minutes or so??? they were friendly when i called... Before going with Comcast for internet, phone and cable look closely at all your other options. We called their billing department 6 months ago to go over our bill and if we had any options for reducing our monthly bill. Everything seemed great at the time they went through each and every service, cable box, etc that we had. My husband and I were both on the phone. We thought we had a great new monthly bill but turns out after they offered us one thing and we did the phone contract then they magically went through our services over a month later and brought our actual monthly bill up to with 20 dollars of what it was. I was so frustrated and called immediately but just went round and round with customer service. Basically they told us that we had a box that they were not charging us for and just realized it now. I feel like we got totally scammed.... Isn't that why we went through everything in our house and asked over and over what our monthly bill would be now with the services the way they are. We originally called because I was thinking we should switch to dish but of course they offer you this tremendous deal that really doesn't exist. I had to hook up my self install kit and It took 3 calls to resolve my installation issues. Overall, the Internet service is great, by it is very irritating when the csr apologizes for everything but transfers me to nowhere. Finally, they reset my modem and all was good. So, it took 3 calls and 10 "i'm sorry's" and 1 reset over 45 min and I am twice as fast as the old modem. Technology is great when it works! read more

They put stores in place and then the people, when you can finally get to a person, tells you to go to the store. Well I pay close to $300 a months for this "F'd up service. If I want self service then I should have been asked. System here in Eagan had been interrupted for days and do you think these morons can fix it by phone? No They have so many recordings when you call you can darn near take a nap. As far as the store in Eagan - They don't open until 11:00 What the hell is that all about? Too many gadgets kids staying out into all hours of the night and get their ass out of bed. The City Eagan needs to start penalizing these guys for all interrupted service to customers. Eagan needs to put in a simple call center to report outages and problems and if not resolved within 4 hours start the penalities running credit to customer and fines payable to City. Beware deceptive marketing practices. They advertise a package where you can get some local TV channels for $5/month more than their basic high-speed internet package. What their advertisements don't disclose is the additional $8/month "broadcast TV fee" and the extra $6 or so in the "taxes/fees" category. Comcast - if you read these I want to acknowledge Eric in the billing department(he said twin cities.) I was at a friends house who thought their Internet was cut off due to a billing problem and when I heard the dialog - I borrowed the phone, talked to Eric and it turned out that he was a former tech support person. He checked the modem status remotely, advised me to reboot the router and all was good. What was great and surprising was his calm and nice demeanor after a not so calm start to the call. He is a real pro - and he did a good job as a tech person - I know - I used to manage a larger university network (15,000 users) etc. Eric in billing - this review now goes on my record but it's worth it - he did a great job. read more

This is an update to my other review. We made the appointment and drove 38 miles to the Kingston Pike location. Of course, they could not answer any questions on price of phone, availability or monthly service plans because we need it for business and not personal use. It was stunning to be suggested to us to check with other mobile phone dealers near this location. The attendant was pleasant and not rude at all but thinking outside the box to service our needs wasn't in the equation. So, we did go to their competitor and bought the latest Iphone, service plan, otter box, screen protector, charge cord along with another charge cord for use in the vehicle. Spent $1,284 and will be paying $70 plus taxes monthly for as long as we use this phone. This was easily a $5,000 missed sale on products and services over the next several years. The Best Buy attendant was very happy to take care of all our needs and went well above helping set this phone and service up for us. Guess Xfinity didn't need that $5,000 sale at all. Also, the whole time we were there, some other couple were irate because their phone didn't work and weren't going to have service for three more days. Now I'm going to be charged $600 as an early termination fee. All since THEY cannot provide service. Has been a big freakin mess since it was installed 2 weeks ago- the install took 7 hours- yes 7 hours- from 2:30 - 9:30 pm, ridiculous. I had to tell the guy at hour 6 we needed to be done for the day regardless if it was done, and that he could come back the next day, but he didn't want to do that as it was his day off... Then the next day their modem stopped working. I called for service, and silly me thought they'd get right on it since I just endured a 7 hour install, oh no they were too busy, so I had to wait a week. But "LXQ" (wouldn't/couldn't give me her name) said she was on her way to a meeting, but she would find me something sooner she promised, and call me back that afternoon. No Call. Also, LXQ said for me inconvenience they credit me for the month's service- got my bill yesterday- she actually ADDED it so I was charged double. Spent 2 hours on the phone to get that sorted out. Now 2 weeks later I still have the 100+ foot cable running across my lawn and I can't mow, seems they forgot to have the utilities come and mark existing lines so they can bury it, now scheduled out 2 more weeks. now that Comcast has released 2 months ago that you are limited to 1024gig of data before extra charge kicks in, and sent out a usage report of what you have been using to make you feel better about getting a cap. Has anybody else noticed they are using a lot more data than before? I work from home and I'm on the computer 10 hrs a day and watch Netflix while I'm working and we had been around for our average 650 gig. Last month and this month I have been over by 550 to 600 gig. So I call to find out what the overage cost is and low and behold its $10 per 50 gig or you can go unlimited for 50 a month more. Well there it is. Give us another 50 and you get unlimited. I noticed that there is a serious problem with this company. I ordered 200 Mbps download. I consistently was given 20 Mbps download. Thank you. I have contacted them no less than 15 times in 10 days. Additionally, I had an initial install and a follow up, both onsite. Still not fixed. one rep told me the modem they installed was "end of life", so i went and invested in a new modern modem, that temporarily fixed the problem. They supposedly registered this new modem when they were onsite. A program on their website, subsequently asked me to register the modem about 5 times more. When speaking with a rep after this, they had no record that the initial modem was changed nor that the it was returned to their rep, two days later. I was also told that they should not have installed 2 modems on the same line, but that is exactly what the install person did. There is so much more that i could include but am not because it would just wear me down, as this company did. There is a serous cultural problem with the company and how they deal with customers, but somehow they have almost exclusive rights for providing internet to certain regions in the USA and under provide what they advertise. This NEEDS TO CHANGE! Companies should not be able to get away with these types of scams!!!!! I can imagine that it is hard to provide what you promise to customers when you only have a NET CASH of 5.7 BILLION DOLLARS!!!!!! The front clerk was very rude to us, going os far to slam the phone on the counter after we were surprised to hear the store location we were given to activate our modem in fact WAS NOT inapt to deal with activating the modem in question, and were were told (quote) "We don't do modem." The customer service was appalling and we would not recommend the service or store. The crew definitely needs to work on their attitudes regarding customer greetings and handling, and interactions in general. We had to do it ourselves on the phone given to us despite being told on our cell yesterday we had to come into the store specifically. After 4 attempts to self set up the cable, 10+ customer service calls, and 3 technicians putting in 5 hours of service work, I finally got my internet and cable set up. But after buying the Amazon Fire TV and going the 2 weeks without cable, I decided I don't really need cable TV. I went to the Xfinity store in hopes to discontinue the cable, but still get the new customer deal on internet since they have a "30 day customer guarantee," but since I'm not a "new customer" anymore (even though I had really only had service for 1 hour at that point), I have to pay full price for internet. I guess I'll put in my 29 days, then cancel! After attempting one last self set up (waiting about 2 hours because the website kept freezing and the slow activation time) I still don't have cable TV, but I did have enough time to write this review and search for a different ISP! I must say that the last technician that came to my house to get the service set up was the most helpful person I have encountered with Comcast. He was nice, knowledgeable, fixed the problems that 2 other techs could not figure out, and even traded out the broken modem I was given from the Xfinity store. Shout out to Chad! I tried to take the telephone survey after the service to compliment his work, but surprise, surprise, that was broken too. Ah, If only one could use negative numbers! I reworked my cable/internet package 2 weeks ago with a pleasant agent, Courtney, on the phone and barely 2 days later the new equipment was delivered. Then some uppity jerk called me and told me I shouldn't get what was quoted to me because I also have a Tivo box. Really? He offered a "legacy" (discontinued box) instead. Really? What about the listing I read online for the "Premiere Triple Play" and print advertising that includes exactly what the salesperson told me? Long story short, I returned all of the new garbage. I've been a customer for 13 years. You'd think that would count for something, but it clearly doesn't. The worst customer service I've ever experienced, and that's saying a lot. They do not honor their "price guarantees and they have outsourced their customer service to offshore liars and scammers. When TCM was eliminated from my plan during a "price guarantee" period, I spent hours with their offshore customer non service. I repeatedly asked to talk to a supervisor in the US. I was repeatedly told that I had to deal with offshore customer service. I was promised a 9.99 credit for six months to compensate me for their failure to abide by their "price guarantee". When I pointed out that the fees and taxes added to the cost of adding TCM needed to be taken into account, I was first told their were no fees and taxes added. In fact, fees and taxes added an additional 6.99 a month. I never received any credit. When I told them I wanted to terminate the service, I was told I would have to pay an early termination fee. Subsequently, more than 30 days later, I was researching this issue and learned that the Terms and Conditions allowed me to terminate without paying an early termination fee, but If I didn't terminate within 30 days after they unilaterally changed my account, I was deemed to have accepted the change. I asked that this issue be escalated to the highest level of customer service. I never heard anything. It is one thing to deal with an occasional undertrained representative. It is quite another to deal with an organization that doesn't honor it's guarantee that repeatedly lies to it's customers through outsourced liars. read more

Only had internet threw Comcast/Xfinity.. They charged me $50 for a connection fee. - Used their service for many years.. 2015 was interesting.. Let me tell you about it.. Friend had just died of lung cancer , I was in the middle of making arrangements for cremation , and informing family members.. Oh my phone is threw the internet with a Skype device called a Magic Jack, Just plugs into the USB and a phone and it allows for free long distance any where in the USA.. Unknown to me a Comcast flunky came into the apartment building I am in and went into the utility room , plugged in a diagnostic device, and found their was "Noise on the line" and disconnected the cable from the patch panel in the utility room .. Not informing me, I just lost signal. Called Comcast , told them they need to get out and fix it, they told me I had an older modem and I would need to upgrade.. So upgraded to the new Cisco B2 Modem, the shiny new black tower looking modem with the pretty white lights in the front.. Took that home plugged it in and still NO signal. Took me a few weeks for them to make a "Home visit" the guy went into my apartment , hooked up the diagnostic equipment , and then went and found someone to let them into the Utility closet with the patch panel.. Plugged the cable back in and told me their was noise on the line, after checking his diagnostic gizmo... Comcast person left telling me that they would have to re-string a new cable from the utility panel to my apartment.. and left.. Telling me it would be another few weeks before they could do that.. After the service person left I went and plugged in the cable for the modem back into the wall , tuned on the modem and everything came back.. - Went and screamed at a few Comcast people at a local Xphinity store.. They did knock my bill down from $70 an month to $40 a month for about 6 months. .Bill went back up to $75 just for the internet a month, So April 20th I ripped the modem out of the wall and took it back to Comcast old them I QUIT. Writing this at the end of May and Comcast is still sending me letters in the mail telling me I have a balance to be paid of $40, and (Your service has been disconnected) Well Duh! Now , I get a phone message from 877 606 6700 claiming to be Comcast telling me I have an over due bill -Its a scam , they are not from Comcast.. But what a coincidence that after I quit Comcast I should receive this scam.. -Maybe they are selling my information to scammers.. -I think their company is run by highly educated Lemurs. read more

I have had Comcast for just under two years. The problems started the day I installed my box. Since I already had internet the person I talked to said it would be easy to install the cable box and it was. Except there were problems from the start. I had to go back to the Comcast brick and mortar store two more times to pick up new boxes. Each box resulted in the same problem. Finally a technician came over and looked at my connection and my box and fixed the problem. The filter had not been removed from the post and, therefore, my box wasn't receiving the signal. Okay, problem fixed and I'm watching cable. I thought hot diggity. Little did I know what the future would bring. Suffice it to say but almost two years later and I have made at least 30 calls into their customer service because of problems with my DVR. It started where the DVR would stop working right in the middle a recording. They tried to blame it on power outages but I was at the tv when it happened and the power didn't go out because the tv was still working and the dvr was still on. Finally, I found out what the problem was. When Comcast bought out TimeWarner Cable in the Minneapolis area they didn't changet the TimeWarner infrastructure. Therefore, they are trying to have Comcast software communicate with TimeWarner hardware which doesn't work as well as they proclaim. Now all of this wouldn't be a problem except I have friends who live in Plymouth who has the same level of service and has no problem with their service. Of course, they live in a location where Comcast was already there and his equipment is Comcast hardware which has no problem communicating with Comcast software. So if you are in a previous TimeWarner Cable area (Bloomington, Carver, Eden Prairie, Edina, Fridley, Hopkins, Jackson, Jordan, Louisville, Madelia, Minnetonka, Montrose, New Prague, New Ulm, Richfield, Shakopee, St. Louis Park, Waverly) be aware you may be affected. So, I was in our local store yesterday and received great service. We added a phone line and bought a new phone. The one drawback is we forgot to ask how much the new bill would be. I called the main 800 customer service line and requested the information. I got the new bill total quickly and cordially. After taking a few minutes to add up the numbers, they didn't work out for the details. I called back. After verifying my info and asking my question, I was asked for the last 4 digest of the credit card I used yesterday. I expressed concern but against my better judgement gave the information. I was then told that the billing department said that it couldn't provide a detailed breakdown of my bill. (For real???) So they transferred me to the mobile department. When they answered their wording sounded as though it was a brand new call. I asked about this and they said they didn't know the history of my call. However, the first question they asked was for my credit card information. I expressed concern about this, then said that I'm not comfortable giving it. I called earlier and they were able to verify my id without my credit card and there was no reason they needed it. The agent said I understand, but then insisted I give it to her. I began to explain that an alternative method needed to happen or I needed to talk to a manager. She began talking right over me. I told her to stop talking when I'm talking (which someone shouldn't need to be told) and to let me talk to a manager. She said she was switching me to a manager and after being on hold for ANOTHER HOUR!!!! I was HUNG UP on!!!! I called back, immediately and briefly asked to speak to a manager. I was told there was no way I was on hold for an hour and that I needed to understand that it takes a few minutes on hold. I countered with the fact and asked them not to try to sugar coat or counter them. I was told that the call must have somehow become disconnected. Hmmm how convenient after an hour of hold time. I again asked them to not try to sugar coat what happened. I was told managers do not speak to customers, only supervisors do. (Two thoughts: 1, for real??, 2, I don't care what you call it, someone higher than you). I was told that it would 5-10 min to hold- it was 21 min. After reaching a new person, I was put on hold an additional 28 minutes and HUNG UP ON AGAIN!! I called back AGAIN and still did not receive a resolution since they refuse to help without your credit card information. read more

I am an international student moved to Minnesota for Grad School and this is the first time ever that I wrote a review on internet. I would like to dedicate it to you to understand what Comcast internet service in Saint Paul is really like, at least from my personal experience. First thing to start off, I give it a one star because I can't find a lower grade. (It really should be a bloody skull when you try to click one star.) I can list reasons to show you how unbelievable their service is, starting with the billing issue as a lot of comments have stated. They are all true. They charged me for my TV service (for crying out loud I don't even watch TV I am a doomed science major grad student who doesn't have a life outside my lab) and when I asked them why it is there, they transfered my call two times and told me briefly that it came with my internet from the very beginning during a long introduction of their new products. However they remembered to sneakily order the digital cable kit for me after I hung up the call, which was also after I was charged on TV service for 4 months. When I told them to remove the TV service, after the call was transfered another three times, a guy that asked me two times "Are you sure you want to remove your TV service" reluctantly agreed to help, which made me happy for about 10 days--until I found that he removed my TV fee and applied a new internet monthly fee to make my bill balanced, only that it doesn't come with TV service any longer. Comparing to these, things like they charged me 15 bucks for cable kit installing fee while I clearly remembered I put it on myself should be too mean to mention. (They did give back my money after the call.) It might all sound too negative and there can be people trying to defend them. Well I can be with you for a second because I am still very thankful to my Comcast connection now that it only broke down two times when I type this review, far lower than the average disconnection frequencies I usually had for the last 7 months. To sum it up, I don't mind waiting 30 minutes listening to the radio quality symphony orchestra and I don't mind being polite to operator trying so hard to sell me new bundles who struggled telling the difference between "very" and "belly"; I don't even mind paying all the acronym fees in the billing detail which "only 39.99" never talked about, but If you don't have good connection, sir, I just don't know what else I am supposed to mind. read more

Xfinity by far has the worst customer service of any company that has provided services to me and my family. Three managers told me a tech would be out to fix the problem I was having with my cable today. The problem was a tech came out yesterday to run more cable and he did something wrong and out of the three televisions we had him work on, two didn't work after he left. Most service providers would come back the next day and fix the issue, not Comcast. I called 4 times today and was either lied to by the managers, got the run around or was not believed. I sat here all day yesterday and finally at 4:30 he came. Today, I the "manager" told me between 12:00-2:00. It is now almost 4:00 and when I called once again, the rep had no idea that a call had been dispatched out for today. She said well maybe they will be there by 5:00. Instead of paying Comcast for such sub standard, unethical and unprofessional service, they should pay me for my patience, time and professionalism. I checked my online banking to find that Comcast/Xfinity had added an Internet Blast service to my account without my permission at a charge of $12 a month. They added the service back in February and sent an email out in September to let us know about the new promotion. No where in the email does it say that we were being charged. We have paperless billing, so the only way we noticed was to check our account. When I called customer service, I was disconnected 3 times after going through about 10 prompts. After finally getting through, they refunded me the charges from February, but didn't admit any guilt or answer my questions on why they charged us for a service we didn't sign up for. I asked to talk to a manager, but she was in a "meeting". I left my number, but am not holding my breath they will call back. Horrible customer service! Not sure how their policy is legal. read more

worst service ever!!! I was forced to "upgrade" 5 months ago because Comcast was no longer going to offer the "basic" service that I had. I got converter boxes and all the stuff that goes with them. Since getting them NOTHING has worked as promised. My Internet, which never had a problem b-4, now is spotty at best. The boxes they sent either were broken or screwed up my TV or both. I have 4 boxes and only 1 TV now works. After 4 months of back and forth and hours of my time on the phone with tech support, they finally decide to send a tech out free of charge to look at what is wrong. They promise that he/she will be able to get it all squared away for me. He showed up at his correct time so that was all good, however he can't do anything until I pay my past due, which I am not paying since I have not gotten the service. I am not paying for 100 channels when I only get 5. I am not paying for high speed Internet when there is NO SIGNAL. He has me call in to speak to billing, 4 transfers, 4 rude employees and the last one hangs up on me. I had to ask the tech to leave my home as I was all done at that point with Comcast. He was very nice about it. He could see my frustration and he sat and listened to the whole conversation with all of the people as I had them on speaker phone. He did say he was sorry for how i was being treated but there was nothing he could do. I have been with Comcast or a company that was bought by Comcast or 17 years. I am all done. Clearly Comcast does not care about long term customers and is not able to deliver on promises to deliver programing that is paid for. So long Comcast, I will never come back to you. Comcast will not mail you your last bill, and when you asking them to they will not. They tell you to go to their website but when you are no longer a costumer you can't look at you bill. I found this out because I check my credit report and had a collection agent after me for my last bill that I didn't realize I didn't pay. They sent it to a collection agent 2 months after I ended their services. Not once mailing me a reminder that I still had a bill with them. So I paid my last bill and they still never removed it from my credit report. I will never go back to Comcast/ xFinity. read more

Comcast definitely is the worst cable had three different issues with customer service first of all i moved out and switched my address no problem but cable box went down, so i had to wait in service center for over two hours for a swap. After that it took over an hour to activate once i was home. After a yr we had to move again this time everything was working except the service, called and they said they had to send a technician to fix the problem since it was an outside thing; this took three days by which we were still being charged as if we had service, after the issue was fixed and we called back to activate them we found out that the rep. Who changed our address cleared all the equipment from the account and so we couldnt activate the cable box because it didn't even have a serial number sticker( this is the box i swapped at the service center). We called to find out what was going on they said we had to go to a service center to activate it or send a tech to do it ( i dint have the time to go to a service center while they're open because of work and the tech even though it was their mistake was going to be for a fee) which was more time wasted so decided to cancel the service here the man i talked to sold me into staying by offering to send a cable box overnight without any additional charge and some premium channels for six months. We agreed to the offer, and waited so today the cable box never arrived and i received an email from comcast with the delivery order in which i was being charged not only for the shipping of the box but also for three months of HBO and showtime. And just right now i received another email with a shipping tracking number the box has just been sent when it was supposed to be already here, it seems as if they dont even care of the needs of their customers, I know many cable or satellite companys are shady but come on this is just outrageous now i have been without tv for almost a week and apparently with a bill of $142.00 for internet service i believe this is outrageous. It is no wonder Xfinity has the lowest rated customer service of any business in Minnesota, THE WORST! I called on Saturday to talk about my bill which had increased $40 a month without notice. The representative said she could lower my price in to a new package, same service if I took a 2 year contract, seemed too good to be true, it was. Of course not the same service at all and even though it was their mistake too bad. I think it's a classic bait and switch. Only utilizing internet service and I'm supposedly paying for the upgraded service (25Mbps). 1) Consistently cannot use wireless. Comcast only guarantees speeds for wired service. 2) When even the wired connection fails and they then send someone out, they allow appointments for times when the technician cannot access all required areas and then blames everything except Comcast's own potential problems with their service. Interestingly enough, we consistently have issues when their offices themselves are closed (early in the morning and late at night). Perhaps they're right - my phone, iPad, AND computer must all have a problem - it cannot be a Comcast problem. 3) I've called to try to get issues resolved at least, at the least, twice a month for the past 3 months. After 25 mins on the phone and them resetting something, my internet works again. It baffles me that I'm in 2015, paying for "premium" internet service and I spend 30 mins trying to get a page to successfully load. And it's more frustrating to recognize that for now, I'm to blame for paying them for this very disappointing, less-than-acceptable service. Worst company ever! Had internet service thru Comcast in a condo I rented for four months. Things were ok until I moved across the hall. It took SEVEN phone calls with multiple transferred/dropped calls to Comcast to even get hooked up. I mean, I moved 15 feet! Now internet service is so slow I can't even stream music reliably. And since my 6 month special ran out, paying over $70 per month for crappy internet. When I call for service I get hooked up with people who know nothing about how to help other than resetting my router. Ugh! Go anywhere other than Comcast. read more

It has taken me conversations with two agents over chat and three agents over the phone to try and get someone to get my cable service working and they have sent out multiple reps at times that I specifically told them I would not be at home. I'm so fed up with it and I haven't event gotten my service up and running yet. Unfortunately there really any other options for only cable service in Minneapolis so I'm just stuck dealing with it. read more

I have just had one of the worst days of my life thanks to Comcast. This is the 2nd time they've been to my apt to install cable and internet this week. The guy was here for 3 hours. He had the wrong modem, so someone had to bring the one I ordered. He then tried 3 different cable boxes. The first two were broken (brand new). The third one worked, but he had to leave before it was finished booting up. 5:00 and they're done, no matter if the job is done or not. I had to call because a msg came up on the screen. We finally got the cable going. I then had to call someone to figure out how to get my wireless working. I could barely understand the first guy and he couldn't help me. The second guy was great and got my wireless going. I had to contact the company to make a third appt so they could bring the right box. Then I had to contact them again because I wasn't getting Showtime (3 mos free). Oh, and they also spelled my name wrong on my account. I have had directv for the last 3-4 years, and when i move in 6 mos I'll go back to them. What happened to Comcast? They seem to represent the worst of the worst when it comes to corporate crap that customers have to deal with. read more

This place is terrible, unfortunately for me if i want cable I'm stuck with them. Terrile customer service, over priced, garbage company.
