The price has almost tripled over the past year and I was never notified of these changes until it showed up in my bill. So I was so fed up with not having wifi, so I broke down and ordered my cable and wifi. Needless to say I was unaware that it would be such a debacle trying to get service. In order to avoid the installation fee, you must install it yourself, but after all the three mishaps I've had....they came and installed the cable for free... When I originally picked up the installation kit, they forgot to include the power chord for the cable box....then I called to order the power chord and they sent me an HDMI chord, so finally I asked to have the kit resent with all the proper connections, and the rep assured me he ordered it and 2 weeks nothing ever came... so I finally said ..."GIVE ME FREE INSTALLATION OR I'LL CANCEL AND TELL ALL MY YELP FRIENDS" Lol... just kidding, but you get the point....companies need to know customers are a premium, even if they are the only guys in town read more

My mobile service suddenly went out for over 12 hours - directly affecting both my ability and my husbands ability to do our jobs. When we reached out to Xfinity for help and information, they had our Internet restart repeatedly so we were basically unable to use it. While reaching out for information, I was offered a phone worth $400 - I said no thanks but I'd like the amount credited to my account for compensation for losing a shift at work and my husband's inability to do his on-call duties. I was told no, I would be given a $10 credit instead. That this $10 is all a women's work is worth for an entire 8-hour shift according to Xfinity. I asked for a supervisor today and was placed on hold for over an hour before I reached out via chat and asked for a supervisor to call me back. I would only get started with Xfinity if you have no other choice for home internet or mobile. In my case, I signed up home internet and then added a mobile in mid-2023. Home internet has worked well but they've just jumped the price, from $71 to $111 per month without explanation, and their phone support system is completely bullet-proof to prevent any phone contact with a human agent. Their "chat" system is also bullet-proof - it goes in a loop without giving me an answer. Both models of corporate double-speak.So when they hike your bill, don't expect any explanation of why. As for the mobile, I now suspect that the attractive sign-up package was designed with such a low data limit that i will have no choice except to jump that, with the actual price of my home internet plus one cellphone climbing to $250 per month. I have always like the cell service through Xfinity mobile. Now that they have moved from South Burlington to Williston, it is impossible to just get accessories. If you do not want to wait for hours when arriving, you have to book an online appointment, this would be fine but it does not allow you to book for accessories. You try calling and cannot set an appointment up over the phone so the only option is to wait in the line to he between appointments when there are normally 10 people waiting for this same thing. I don't understand why the lady that checks you in for appointments is not trained to sell basic things, you could even have sell check out kiosks. As it is now you have to wait for a sales representative to sell you a case seems like a waste of time on there part, and a huge inconvenience for loyal customers to wait hours for a phone case, and let's not talk about if you break your phone, or it's stolen how long your waiting for! read more

Unfortunately it seems most of us living in the Burlington area are stuck with Comcast, so this review is mostly just to help you set your expectations really low and prepare for the up charges. I signed up for internet only, it came with a Flex streaming unit (which I was instructed was at no charge) and the modem for self install. The self install went fine, things worked good the first two months, but without me noticing, they slipped in a $4.99 charge for the Flex streaming unit on month 2 and now on month 4 the rate for the internet only plan has changed by $10. So now my fairly affordable internet only has risen by $15 a month...without notice or announcement or even a nice set of fine print in an email. Guess I was supposed to know when the sales agent said "free" that meant only at that moment...sigh. Anyway be careful, check your bills twice or three times because missed the first change as it was buried deep down the bill and be ready for your overall cost to go up as the months go by. read more

Speaking to a human is impossible, and the canned recorded response that they are doing work in our area is simply a way to avoid providing actual customer service. The best in the area unfortunately and that's painful to say. I've had there service for 4 months now, locked into a 2 year contract btw, and in them 4 months my speed has constantly fluctuated from 20mb down to 700kb. I have lost internet for several hours 7 times now, usually happens around 1 am and will last until 6 or 7am with no warning. If you call, which I have, you are often met with someone who can give you no answeres or even see that there is a connection problem and that's if they are not rude. Sometimes understanding the represenitives can be extreamly dificult too. They will come out to take a look thoug. The 2 times someone has been out here, one for the installation and one to try and find a problem, the tecnition complained about the drive over for the first guy and the 2nd one just seemed to be confused like he was literally plucked off the street at random with no training at all. This has me wishig and begging that Charter would come to the area. They may not be the best but they are better than this crap. I know because I delt with them for 7 years prior to moving. If you can find something better keep far away from this company. They don't care about your satisfaction, once you give them your signature on the contract you'll quickly see that. read more

They nickel and dime you for EVERYTHING. Our phone service was crap, crackling and fuzzy for 2 weeks. I called them about it, they stated they would send out an agent no problem to check the lines outside of our building. They sent a guy, he fidgeted around outside for 20 minutes or so, came back in and explained the lines needed some adjusting and what not, but that it should be better. Next thing I know, I have a $100 charge on my next bill for that service guy coming out to fix the phone lines, which actually had nothing to do with me... Evidently, their preferred method of solving problems is to hang up on you. I have had spotty internet and cable service for a few weeks. By spotty I mean that it will cut out for a split second and cause everything to have to be reset (modem, router, cable box, and Apple TV). I tried to get some help with this and was told it was my modem. I disagreed because of the other symptoms (it happens to both the internet and cable which come into the house on the same line from the same location) and was told someone could come out to look at it but there might be a charge. The agent couldn't tell me if and what the charge would be. When I asked for other possible solutions, I got "disconnected." Happened with three different agents. Whereas their solution sounds good to me (I often purchase stuff not knowing the price so that I can be surprised after the fact when it is too late to do anything about it), I'll have to pass this time. In the mean time, I am stuck with shoddy service, that I have to pay monthly for, and no one to assume responsibility for fixing it. read more

If I could give a negative star I would. Comcast has to start thinking of being customer friendly. I am not happy with Comcast for these reasons. I moved my business to my home and I already had a home phone I didn't use. The only reason I had this home phone was because it was part of a package. We never used it, we only used our cells. So a yearago I closed my showroom and move my business home. I faught with Comcast to mymove business number to my home phone. They said no. So I was forced to put in a commercial phone line in a residential area. Not my choice. They gave be wrong info about the wire needed for my electrician. We put in what they told us to. Then we sheetrocked the walls and finished the space. Come to find out they gave us the wrong info and we ended out needing two wires not one. So my business would never have a fax line what so ever. When their associate came out to install things, he got there and said he didn't know how to handle it. Well of course not, we didn't have the correct wiring installed because they told us the incorrect amount of wire to use. Now I have decided to retire and now they won't let me cancel the phone without a $1,200.00 fee. This business needs to get it together and have better customer friendly policy. When some one retires they should be able to cancel the phone without a huge cancellation fee. Especially after Comcast making this huge mistake about the installation and not even caring that they made this mistake. Comcast you are not the business I thought you were. Horrible customer service by Xfinity with the wrong phone number. You get better service in poor third world countries. Even one star is one too many, it should be zero or minus zero. Technician shows up to the wrong address alone, although the repair work required two people, as was explained to customer support ahead of time. A different one one showed up the next day, alone again, claiming he knew nothing about what needed to be repaired, and that the work order had "disappeared" in the system and can't be retrieved, which is absurd, because how did he know he had a service call? Then he claimed that the neighbors needed to cut their trees before wires could be replaced, which was false and absurd. When I demanded that two technicians show up as promised the previous day and perform the repair job, he shrugged and left. Customer service was promised that another technician would show up that afternoon, but nobody showed up or called. We were forced to cancel the service, or rather non service. Horrible, clumsy, disjointed, disinterested "service" by a near monopoly. Corporate America at his almost worst, and that's saying something. read more

I live in Baltimore but from what I can tell this is the xfinity headquarters. Unfortunately where I live comcast is the only cable provider which enables them to take full advantage of you. Before I set up services at my old apartment I asked about early termination fees because I knew it was a temporary move. Comcast told me that if I move to a location that already had comcast services I would not have to pay the termination fee. Turns out this was FALSE but let's continue. I speak with Comcast and tell them how I was told I wouldn't have to pay the fee, the woman says her manager is out and she would call me back in a couple days. Well a couple weeks goes by and nobody calls, that is until I get a call from a debt collector asking for $200 from comcast. I call comcast back and this time ask for a manager. I explain what happened and how mad I was they never called and sent it to collections without speaking to me. She assures me she is removing this and apologizes and everything will be taken care of. This same scenario happened four more times over the last year. Luckily two credit bureaus took it.off my credit report and I'm awaiting the results from another dispute I filed. Comcast you continue to be a disappointment and you never take accountability. Your employees are uninformed, unintelligent, and liars. You never want to help your customers out. You are by far the worst company I have ever dealt with and I look forward to the day where I can sever all ties with you. I truly hope legal action is taken against your company in the future. If I can stop one person from getting comcast then this post has served it's purpose. read more

I just switched from Comcast because of their terrible customer service. I now know that other companies are cheaper, friendlier, and have faster Internet. Someone moved into my apartment building and accidentally gave the wrong apartment number. They turned off my Internet without asking me if I had actually moved and then refused to believe that I actually still lived in my apartment. After several phone calls and many hours of my time, I could not convince them that they had made a simple clerical error and I really wanted to PAY them money for Internet. I never once had a late payment and was a good customer for years, but this was ridiculous. One of my many phone calls later, I got the supervisor who was rude and really nasty to me. She told me that since their system already had a different customer name at my address and they could not locate that person, then I must not live there and there was nothing she could do about reconnecting my service. I explained that I actually was trying to GIVE them money and that I was not trying to get free service and she just did not want to hear about how they just had the wrong information in their computer. She said that was not possible. I offered to fax a copy of my lease to prove I was at the address and was told I would get a phone call back. I never heard back. I then contacted Burlington Telecom and had faster cheaper service in less than 24 hours. Amazing. read more

Generally we liked Comcast SERVICE, meaning the service we received at our house. The cable, phone, and Internet services we received worked pretty consistently in our area and given our options, we would much rather go with them than Fairpoint. However, we have had a NUMBER of problems with their equipment. The last time we got a cable box from them, I ended up having to return it a few times because it would not turn on. And calling the Comcast tech department got us nowhere this last time. Luckily, I work really close by so while it was annoying, it was less so than if I worked farther away. Like I said, though, this happened numerous times where the equipment would either be or seem non-functional until I had to call their tech department at the national number (something I hated doing). When it works, it's smooth sailing generally. Outages were few and far between. After having service for a few years, we eventually cancelled all of them and now have Netflix and Hulu streaming through our Wii. I do miss all the newer movie choices on their On Demand service, though! read more

I don't even know where to begin. I got married in October. While I was on my honeymoon, my bank sent me a chip card and deactivated my old card. This meant I was one week late on my payment. I paid my bill as soon as I got home and realized what had happened. Flash forward 4 months later... I continued making payments on my new card and received confirmations for every payment. Suddenly, my Internet gets shut off. I start an online chat with customer service. They tell me that I have not paid since November. Every payment has been taken out of my account. They apologize and say they will turn out back on right away. 8 hours later and still nothing. I call customer service and they tell me that I have to pay $100 to get it turned back on! They say that they can see the attempted payments every month but because I was late that one month, they will not turn it back on without the deposit because I am not a reliable customer. I work in hotels and swore that I would never write a bad review but this goes to far. I have never dealt with ruder people. It is complately unacceptable that a company would do this to someone who has been a loyal customer for years. Word of mouth spreads quicker than any advertisement and I will make sure to tell anyone I know about the terrible and dishonest service I received. read more

Went in as a first time customer- the guys at the store assured me my internet and cable package would be $44.99 a month with no extra charges other than taxes. I got my first bill today for $90.82!!!!!!!! When I called, they said the "accidentally" signed me up for the wrong package and would credit my account. They also told me that the modem would be free and I had two charges of $10 and $20 for set up fees when i SET IT UP MYSELF! The reason for two stars is they said they would correct it. How do I post minus stars? First, on the Xfinity phone line, the auto attendant requires more information than anyone has, then can't understand "agent" and refuses to put you through until you give her exactly what "she" expects. Then you finally agree to "change service" - and the only options are to upgrade. With all the garbage on TV, who wants to upgrade?? Then I get the accounting dept. She has a few options but not what the Retention Dept has, so she agrees to transfer me. Then we get disconnected. Go through everything all over again and get to the retention dept. But, sorry, I'm not listed on the account even though the accounting dept has me listed. "Sorry, we can't tell you anything unless you're on the account." But I am. End of conversation. THIS is why competition is SO important. We have nowhere to turn. NO options to get this info are online. So minus stars for you, Xfinity. Worst customer service EVER. I pay $220 a month (on time) for cable and wireless and the service has been out twice for extended periods of time since November 2015. Called to get it fixed last night and was put on "hold" only to find I was put back in the call queue. A competent customer service rep picked up my call to inform me she couldn't help me because the previous rep signed me up for phone service (I didn't order or need) and my account would be locked for several hours. Ended up spending over an hour of my Saturday night on the phone with several reps only to still have no cable service and also having phone service I didn't order!! Beyond frustrated. Will have to call again today to try to get the phone service off my account and my cable service fixed. Not how I want to spend my precious free time on the weekend! Sadly there are not cable alternatives in Ludlow, VT - my hands are tied! read more
