They laughed so hard, a lot of "wow!!"'s and it was just an action packed show from the beginning to the end. To those who enjoy a real mind-blowing experience, save yourself the time and money by avoiding this show. I've been to Vegas 10+ times and was looking for something "new". The Tix4Tonite booth lady sold me on this show that was "better than Copperfield" (LIES) and that was "half off normal prices" (LIES-- same price as regularly listed but I didn't know until later). My Godson wanted to see a magic show, so his mother (my sister) got tickets to Xavier Mortimer. I was expecting to enjoy myself but what happened was so far above "enjoy" I was blown away! The magic was exceptional, but there was so much more. Xavier's presentation keeps you totally engaged. The added gem in this show is Belle, played by Allie Sparks. She is not only stunningly gorgeous but incredibly talented. She is worth the price of admission alone and Xavier is the best magician in Vegas! When I asked my fellow Castle members which magic show in Las Vegas they recommended, Xavier Mortimer's name came up more than once. They were right. I found Xavier Mortimer's show enchanting. It's framed as a dream, and the elements of the show build on that, with effects that reinforce the dream-like experience. Mortimer himself has dancing and musical skills as well as a mime's ability to express himself without using words. His cohort Allie is also a masterful mime, acrobat and full partner in the show, holding the stage in her solo sequences. The show is delightful, family-friendly, and passes quickly. Like a dream. Thanks to YelpLV I won a pair of VIP tickets and I brought my husband and we enjoyed the show! The theater is small and any seat will have a good view. VIP seating is within the first 3 rows, no assigned seats, just a first come first served basis. We decided to sit right up front. There was a masked guy going around entertaining the crowd prior to show starting. The show started on time and it ran about an hour and fifteen minutes. It was fun and entertaining. Xavier & Belle are great together! The show had a great theme and all the acts flowed together. I even got to go on stage and be part of an act! Thanks so much for my poster! I would recommend the show but if I did have to nit pick I would say there are few parts of the show that may not be considered family friendly for the much younger audience. Overall great show! If I described this how in one word, it would be REFRESHING. Why, you ask? When I think of a magic show, I picture a dark-haired, mysterious, and border-line creepy man sawing his assistant in half or making things disappear to oddly seductive music. The exception to this is Penn & Teller who perform with intellectual, enjoyably sarcastic humor. And then there's Xavier Mortimer, who provides a refreshing spin on magic incorporating visual elements and bonus cirque-esque tricks, in an unusually small and intimate setting. The two-person act of himself and his assistant is charming, witty, and warm. The crowd interaction added to the experience. However, I would expect that this element could also take away from it depending on the temperament of the audience on any given day. Despite being labeled, family-friendly, I didn't once feel bored, disengaged, or as though my experience was dumbed down. The magic itself elicited ooo's and wow's throughout. My husband, who dabbled in learning magic as a kid, was not exempt from this. The only slight disappointment was that the finale felt underwhelming. Otherwise, this should definitely be included in one's list of options for entertainment on the strip. read more

Now this is my type of magic show... a comedy magician who is playful and SUPER talented at what he does. This guy was on Penn and Tell Fool Us (if you're not watching that show, you must start watching it), and some of the tricks he does on that show are in this show as well. Oh, and if you like French men... he wears very tight pants that don't leave much to the imagination. Just saying. Ladies? Gentlemen? Calm down, it's a family friendly show. Xavier is multi-faceted performer. He doesn't just do magic. He tells jokes, he plays instruments, he dances, he does this weird string cup balance thing that I don't know the name of but you may have seen it before. Incredible. Some of his performance needs some tightening up, but that will come with time. You'll see along the way that the show incorporates a love story between Xavier and his assistant. It is quite charming and a little (only a little) annoying at times. But the assistant is crazy talented as well and an excellent gymnast. I went to see Xavier Mortimer tonight, and I can say without hesitation it was an amazing experience. There are a lot of choices for magic shows in Vegas, and if you want pure technical magic, you can find shows like Penn and Teller where they've been performing magic longer than Xavier has been alive. But that's not why you should choose Xavier. What Xavier is doing is a whole different experience. He has a combination of music, humor, magic, juggling, athleticism and choreography. While it is, in name, a magic show, what it really should be called is Entertainment. You could see choreography at a dance show, athleticism at a Cirque show, magic at a magic show, etc. Or, you could just go see Xavier and get the entire Vegas experience in a small, intimate theater where every seat has a good view. Went here with two teen boys on a Saturday night, nice crowd, seats are positioned one in front of the other, so if you have anyone larger than you are seated in front, you will have to look between the seats to see the stage. Xavier is talented and engages the audience well. His lovely assistant is charming. The show is family friendly and well performed, but can be slow at times. The storyline is a little thin. Kind of like a live concept show from a rock and roll band. Too involved to make it work in one hour. There are good one-off gags here and there but they do not string together we'll. The mirror gag is a particularly weak part of the show. This and the audience participation segments ruin the momentum because most often people are too shy to really make things pop. Saw Xavier's show on a Sunday night! It is located at Planet Hollywood's Sin City theater, a small and intimate environment. The audience was a mix of people - some families with young kids, older adults, and young couples. The show itself is extremely well choreographed. I think Xavier used to be in Cirque de Soleil. His magic tricks are a good variety, simple but well executed. He asks for some audience participation, unlucky for him our group was a little shy. All in all, it was a great performance! I went to this show with four friends (all of us late 20s/early 30s). We didn't really know what to expect in terms of a more adult show or more family-friendly show. We were hoping for the former, but this show is definitely the latter- not a bad thing, just not what we were in the mood for. That being said, even for a more family friendly show, it wasn't super impressive to me and didn't feel worth the $50 we spent for each ticket. Some of the tricks were very obvious, and most of them were things I've seen before. As an adult, when I see magic, I want to be really confused about how tricks and illusions are carried out. I definitely didn't have that experience with this show. That being said, Xavier and Allie are VERY talented performers. They had great timing, comedy, and charisma, and were enjoyable to watch.
