A show well worth your Caesars tier reward, or even actual hard-earned cash. Paranormal is a show starring mentalist Frederic da Silva. It is located in the Horseshoe Casino at the Laugh Factory. This is on the 2nd floor near the poker room, which is on the side of the main casino closer to the Strip. However, the box office is a shared box office for all shows and is back along the main floor of the casino. Actually, it is on the slightly elevated level near hotel registration. If you need to redeem some sort of tier reward for free show tickets, you'll wanna go there first. You'll also want to give yourself plenty of time in case of issues that may arise so that you don't get in a little late like I did. Since we were a bit tardy, we kinda had to dig our way through curtains that had been closed already, then get help from an usher to find our seats. We ended up at one of the tables in the front-most part of general admission, and they weren't too bad aside from tall dudes semi-blocking in front of us. The premium section feels like a decent upgrade for out-of-pocket customers. I don't think we missed that much. Frederic was in the middle of some stuff with some volunteers from the audience on stage, which we saw most or all of the endings of. On that note, he kept having different people come up (mostly selected by frisbees or balls) throughout the 70-ish minute show to demonstrate that there's no way he has that many audience plants. He also states that he doesn't pre-arrange anything anyway. The show is comprised of quite a few mind-reading / prediction tricks, and a little sleight of hand in a so-called "intermission" (not a real break). Many of these effects are familiar to fans of magic/mentalism, but they still feel fresh since it's just plain cool to see them in person. Frederic himself also is charming, funny, off-the-cuff, and just an all-around good entertainer. His pacing is also great, with no real lulls. On top of that, the musical motifs are well-timed and not too obtrusive, and the sound volume and clarity are great. We didn't stay for the free meet-and-greet, but he was available for it tonight. Paranormal is simply a great show for fans of mentalism. It's lasted 13 years, reportedly, and that's gotta be because it's just a polished show that's appealing to all ages and audiences. We came to Vegas for my best friend's bachelorette party, and one of her requests was to go see a magic show. As MOH, I planned the party and spent a lottt of time going through reviews on Yelp and Reddit bc there was a lot of pressure to find the best option and decide for the group. Many reviews of the bigger shows said the performers had been doing it for so long that they looked like they were just going through the motions.. that the acts were unimpressive.. that the theater was so big you could only see the tricks on a screen, or that it was overpriced. After all my research, I'm SO glad I decided on Frederic -- the bride said this magic show was her favorite part of the trip!! (and we went to Tao dayclub the day before lol) :) I love that it was in a small, intimate theater, so that you were up close no matter where you sat. And there was SO much audience interaction -- our bride even caught a frisbee and got to go on stage -- which was fun and helped make it even more special for her. The mentalism was such a cool departure from traditional physical magic tricks -- we all loved it and had many *gasp* moments. We even got to meet Frederic after, and he performed more mentalism up close, which was cool. HIGHLY recommend this show!! Sorry to give a bad review, as I normally don't. I thought this might be interesting, but as what I kinda expected, it was a bunch of childish, "Is this your card?" jokes with obvious predictions. On top of that, the staff were oddly rude and didn't make it a fun experience. I got the tickets for really cheap, so that was good, but still ended really disappointed. I think the 5 stars are people that got to go on stage, because I was so underwhelmed sitting in the audience just wondering what is impressive about this. I had no idea what I was expecting from this show, which is located in the Horseshoe Las Vegas. If you are in the area, I would suggest going to this show for sure! The magician is named Frederick da Silva. He is originally from Europe but has lived in America for quite some time! Yes. Go. Frederic puts on a heck of a show. He did this "distant touch" illusion (or whatever it's called) in his act. He does a free meet and greet at the end of the show (seemed that practically everybody who watched him wanted to meet him and get a photo because he impressed his audience that much). He did that distant touch thing on me. I've been trying to figure out how he did that since I saw his show. I wanted a hoodie or something he could autograph, but he doesn't seem interested in self promotion just for money. He wants to just refine his craft and put on a good show -- and he's succeeded. I was in cranky mood before the show and I was a hard audience member to impress. At the end I gave him a standing ovation -- and he deserves the acclaim his audience gives him. LOCATED AT THE HORSESHOE Located in the Horseshoe hotel in Las Vegas (Formerly Bally's). It took a little bit of finding, but once we entered the hotel, we went up an escalator and found the line waiting to enter. There are bathrooms located outside the theater. SMALL THEATER The theater is small and dimly lit. Our seats were like dining table chairs that were located on flat ground. The stage is elevated. I wouldn't bother paying extra for VIP seats myself. There's a bit of 'wind up hype' before the show and a couple of videos on monitors. AUDIENCE PARTICIPATION BY RANDOM PICK... It's basically a one-man magic show that appears to be mind reading. There is a fair amount of audience participation. My mom and I (In our 50s and 70s) were shrinking in our seats, hoping not to be picked! They typically threw beach balls and frisbees around for random picks, so don't catch them if you don't want to participate! It was a decent show and you'll be amazed how he does it, but there was something awkward/repetitive/flat about it for me. Still, quite impressive. I enjoyed the segment about the magician where he talked and showed photos of his progression to becoming what he is today. One trick where a participant had to draw something on a white board and the magician had to guess what it was went slightly awry as he could tell she'd drawn something "risqué" that couldn't be shown to the audience. She had to redraw her item. MEET THE MAGICIAN After the show, you can line up and meet the magician. (We didn't). BOUGHT TIX IN ADVANCE We saw a different variety of 3 shows over 3 days in Vegas (not our first trip). We booked all of them on-line before the trip. Tickets were digital on my phone. Everything was great about this show! First off, as a veteran I received a discounted ticket through a military site so that was nice that this show participated in the military program. Enjoyed the intimacy if a smaller room such that all seats had a great view. Even though our seats were towards the back, our chances to get picked to come on stage were pretty good. There were some glitches during the show (one participant didn't comprehend either the instructions or English) wich led to slightly comical moments, and Frederico's "suri" wasn't cooperating. To me, these imperfections made the magic more real, and humanized the show. BTW, some of the "tricks" were simply mind-boggling. What made this show a "5+" rating to me was the absolutely free meet & greet given by Frederico where he personally did a few tricks (& of course gratis photo op). I'm guessing that on busy days, he might have to stay 1 or 2 hours after the actual show is done to meet & greet. That personal touch w/o addl fee makes this the best show in Vegas. read more

When it comes to magic, I'm usually more impressed with mind reading tricks as opposed to a prop-filled show - so I was super excited. When we first got there, I was already loving the atmosphere and vibes - even the bartender was pulling off some magic tricks of his own. There was perhaps about a hundred of us in the crowd - so I liked that it was a very intimate setting. After Frederick came on, his presence and humor was amazing from the beginning to the end- all his tricks were very interactive - and it was clear that it was not staged at all. Everyone was pulled by random! At the end, we got the chance to do a meet and greet with him. For my mom, he asked her to pick a number - and surprisingly it was her birthday! Just incredible! I'm usually very skeptical of magic shows and could not understand how one could have almost 5 stars with over 1,300 reviews. I went into the show with very low expectations but left truly amazed. I used to think the participants of magic shows were actors, so imagine my surprise when my sister was one of the chosen participants. Frederic had 4 participants up at one time and had them all doing a different trick at the same time. I won't go into details so as not to spoil the show, but the entire show was so exciting and left me "wow"ing out loud countless times. My sister could not understand how he was able to pull off her trick. I loved the intimacy of the show, and Frederic seemed to want to get as many audience members as he could up on stage. He was personable, humble and hilarious. We had to leave right after the show, so we weren't able to do the meet and greet with him. Days later, and my whole group is still asking "how did he do that?" about each of his tricks. The kids (ages 8, 7 and 5) in our group also thoroughly enjoyed the show. We had a lot of fun at this show. Took the in laws visiting from Ohio during Thanksgiving. Frederic Da Silva is a very seasoned performer. He does his magic effortlessly. Very entertaining. Hubby went up on stage for a series of "illusions". Frederic allows one on one visits with him backstage after each show. He is very very good at what he does. It's one of the best value for your money shows. The showroom was a bit clugey (wobbly chairs), but they use the room to run four different shows a day. It is an intimate venue in that your not more than four or five rows back at worst. All were probably good seats viewing wise. But kudos to Frederic and his entertaining show. read more

I've seen alot of magic shows in Vegas, but this is probably one of the best! The venue is small so every seat is awesome. I liked how there's no stage production, no fancy stage, and no dancers on stage to help distract your eye. It's just the main star, Frederic, on stage by himself. He was performing some amazing acts and mind tricks you cannot explain. I don't want to give it away, but he randomly picks every guest on stage. He showed his upbringing into magic, and how popular he was in Europe, that we eventually got his own Vegas show. He's been here 10 years now! Awesome show- absolutely unbelievable. After the show he did a free meet & greet to take pictures. After our picture he asked me to think of any 3 random numbers, any at all. Concentrate on them. Then he pulled out a folded sticky note from his pocket. He unfolded it and my numbers were handwritten on it. This show will leave you mindblown. It was my second time seeing Frederic Da Silva after many years and I can still say he's one of the most impressive mentalists I've seen. Seating is on a first come, first serve basis in the section you purchased. There's also a bar out in the hallway prior to walking into the seating area. His show is very interactive with randomly selected participants and his story of how he came to perform at the Horseshoe (formerly Bally's) is also very inspiring. If you are skeptical at what he does or didn't have a chance to participate in the show, go see him at his complimentary meet and greet afterwards. It's a great opportunity to take a photo with him and for him to 'read your mind' where he asks you to pick a number in your head from 1-100. On both occasions, he's guessed the number correctly which left us thinking, 'how did he do that?' Highly recommend seeing this show! read more

I've seen a LOT of shows in Vegas and a ton of mentalist shows, and I can say without a doubt that Frederic Da Silva's Paranormal Mind Reading Magic show is one of the best shows in Vegas. Located at Horseshoe, formerly Bally's Magic Attic, don't let the small showroom or the smaller price tag fool you. Frederic has incredible skill as a mentalist. I can see why it's rated so highly. Every trick I kept asking my husband, "how is this possible?" You can see it in everyone's faces who participates on stage, they're blown away. I remember one guy looked like he was about to fall out of his chair when Frederic guessed his mom's age and name - and she wasn't even at the show! You will continuously ask yourself, "how does Frederic know this stuff?" There was a bit of awkwardness when a very (allegedly) belligerent drunk was on stage trying to throw off Frederic, but somehow he left that guy stunned with his tricks even with the guy's bad attitude. Frederic Da Silva is the real deal. What I mean is that he does have supernatural powers. As a person who loves magic and illusions, most of what are called magic are usually well done sleight of hands or performances that rely on props that involve physics and chemistry. What Frederic Da Silva showcased are something truly beyond this world. I personally experienced his remote touch and was mind blown by how he touched someone but I felt the exact touch that he made on the other person. There's no way to do this through physics or chemistry. This is definitely telekinesis in action. Also, there's no way that he could instantly materialize writings that match what someone was thinking immediately. There's no forcing of numbers or words. It feels like he is able to manipulate or travel in time. If you are a skeptic of the hidden abilities that humans have, I guarantee that your life view will change completely after the show.
