I actually got the 3 pound crab and enjoyed every bit of it. They offer more but trust me it's a full 3 pounds. Highly suggest this hidden gem.

When the waitress finally arrived, she mentioned she was the only one working and implied that the slow service would continue throughout the evening. Thankfully, my husband quickly looked up another local spot, and that's when we found Captain Krab Cajun Seafood & Boil--what a blessing! Not only did we enjoy incredible food and exceptional service, but both the server and the owner went above and beyond to make our daughter's birthday truly special. We were treated to fresh, delicious seafood, a sparkler candle dessert, a plush gift for the birthday girl, and even a light-up birthday sign! We felt like part of their family. We ordered oysters, clam chowder, boiled eggs, baby clams, and snow crab legs--everything was perfectly cooked and packed with flavor. You can even customize your meal by choosing from four different seasonings and five levels of spiciness, which makes it ideal for families or groups with mixed tastes. One of the most fun parts? You can write on the walls, tables, and even the ceiling! They also have a claw machine for the kids (and kids at heart). We'll absolutely be back next time we're in town! P.S. It's BYOB!

I immediately noticed how inviting the building is, both on the outside and inside. Very clean and not sticky feeling like a lot of these places. This was one of the best boil bags I've had (and I live in northern VA where there is some of the best seafood in the country). We were seated with no wait and the server was extra nice. They have a pretty solid menu and specials for beery day. We got the Thursday special and lobster roll. Everything was great. Hoping to help boost the rating for this restaurant because they really deserve it. Shoutout to Melissa for taking good care of us!

The previous reviews caused us to be sketchy but I'm glad we decided to go. We were immediately greeted and seated fast, our server Melissa was very kind and efficient. The atmosphere was clean and welcoming with their own little details to touch. The food was sooo delicious and FRESHLY HOT. The menu had daily specials which made things easy while providing great options for an affordable price. Would highly recommend to go and would love to come again if we pass by! As you see the table was left messy but FOOD IS CLEAN GONE

Food was prepared fresh, delicious all around, authentic New Orleans taste. We shared a side of ribs (why not!?). Drinks were well-made - Sazeracs and Mojitos. I had dinner with a couple of friends at Ethel's Creole Kitchen last week. It was my first time…read moreeating at Ethel's, and I was really impressed. It's been open since 1994, and it's easy to see why. Ethel's is really homey and cozy and comfortable. It feels like you've taken a little day trip to New Orleans. We each ordered a couple of drinks (something tropical with rum for me, a martini for my friend, and sangria for my other friend). We shared a few items from their menu: Creole Shrimp Boat (sauteed shrimp, mussels, jumbo lump crab meat, and the fish of the day simmered in a fire roasted red bell pepper sauce, with Creole rice and the vegetable of the day); Hot Cat Stack (fried catfish stacked with sweet and savory Andouille sausage cornbread, spicy crawfish red pepper meunière, honey chive compound butter, hot honey, and the vegetable of the day); a half rack of ribs (slow roasted ribs, Louisiana dry rub seasoning, mopped in BBQ sauce, mashed potato, and the vegetable of the day); and a strawberry bread pudding. Everything was delicious. I liked every course we had, but the Hot Cat Stack was wow. I've had a lot of bad to blah bread puddings in my life, but Ethel's wasn't bad or blah. It was delicious - and not dry at all. At all. The service was friendly but not the fastest (we waited a while for dessert) and maybe just a little scattered! But we eventually got everything we ordered, and the meal overall was wonderful: delicious, fun, casual. I'd love to return!
