OMG! What a fantastic massage!!! My neck and right shoulder has been in some serious pain so I finally decided to do something about it. I called to check availability, they answered my call right away, and I sprinted over immediately. Parking is street parking $2.50/hr. When I arrived, I was greeted immediately, selected a 60 minute Swedish massage ($50) and was taken to my massage room right away. You get a private room with a curtain door that is very dark (I hate bright massage rooms). I quickly undressed and my masseuse was ready to go. Then it was 60 minutes of pure heaven. I let her know my trouble spots and she went to town on them. And that hot towel and hot stones...jeeeeeesus! I think my soul left my body! Most importantly, my massage was a full hour (I have been cut short on massage time plenty of times at other massage places). Overall, I am hooked. This place is an unexpected great treasure in the neighborhood. I called right before walking over, and was able to get a foot massage appointment immediately. I thought I wanted an hour massage for $35, but when I got to the shop, I saw they had a 90 minute foot massage for $55! The shop doesn't have the traditional foot reflexology set up that I was expecting (spa chairs with bowls of water to soak in while someone sits in front of you massaging your feet and legs). Instead, there are multiple massage tables, separated by loft-style walls for privacy. The massage started with me laying on my back, and Jenny went to work on my head and shoulders, then moved to the feet. Jenny was VERY thorough, with extreme pressure, and worked out knots that I must have had since birth! Then I turned onto my stomach and she worked my shoulders, back, back of thighs and feet again. I was very relaxed afterward, and maybe even a little sore. I would warn that depending on who is at the counter when you arrive, you may not be able to communicate any "do not massage here" message to the therapist, and there also was no conversation about pressure levels or anything. If you are just able to be open to (and like ) a lot of pressure, ask for Jenny. I enjoyed it and the price was amazing- I don't know if my all of friends would appreciate it, but I sure did! I came here in search of an economical sports massage near my home. After reading the great reviews I had some confidence that I was in store for a pleasant massage as I was sore from a challenging workout program this week. Unfortunately I was sorely disappointed such that I really should put One Star, but I will try to be objective. - I was asked to pay $60 up front for the one hour massage. - There are no separate rooms. Each section was separated by a wooden partition with cloth or towels as a door. - There was a smell not unlike sewage or methane. All of this could be forgivable if the massage was at least adequate. It was most certainly was not. - The massage "therapist?" had rough hands that would move in a fast clumsy manner. Rather than long strokes of proper pressure, I got short fast jerking movements with random pressures. - She spent too much time on some areas and literally didn' massage other. For example, only the outer portion of my quadriceps and hamstring received any reasonable attention. - She dug her elbows into my spine and scapula. I find truly perplexing how a person giving a massage can be either unable or unwilling to differentiate bone from muscle. I mean, you are born with a cheat sheet (your own body) for reference. So when she ran her elbow up my spinal column this caused pain. She asked "ok?" And I asked her not to massage bone? I have no idea if she understood what I said because she just laughed. Not long after she did the same thing on the other side (as if I had two spinal columns). - Right after I flipped on my back she started rubbing all over my face with oil. Worse, she then pressed hard on the two sensitive glands most humans have located behind the jaw and just under the ear. This is not a muscle. This has nothing to do with a sports massage. I flinched in pain. She again asked "ok?" To which I didn't see the point in answering. She either had no clue what she was doing or she just didn't care. - The unnecessary acrobatics, and lifting my arms and legs up then dropping them again and again. None of this is a sports massage - Worse, Despite how displeased I looked, they still asked me for a tip. That was the final straw for me.
