They are pricey at $1,267 but a three year old federal law will not let you replace a pool motor that goes bad with a $300 replacement motor. (Like me, I'll bet many pool owners are not aware of this.) I checked around and prices were the same with other pool companies. Those companies did not have valid contractor licenses with the state. For a price over $1,000, Arizona law requires that the work be performed by a licensed contractor. I went on www.azroc.gov which is for the Arizona Registrar of Contractors and through a search there found Always Clean. The installation was great and it took him a little over two hours including the training of how to use the computer system it has. You can spot a true professional by how accurately they can perform a repair or install task. Also, they can troubleshoot any existing problems with ease. Todd made it look easy. There is no way that I could have done it. When your kids or grandkids swim in a pool you want absolute safety. Hiring a licensed contractor is worth it.

His breadth of knowledge about the industry and his craft along with his genuine, old fashioned, good business practices are, unfortunately, now a bit of a rare find these days. He is responsive, shows up when promised, is more than fare with his prices, does not oversell or try to talk his clients into more work that is possibly not necessary. He listens to what is being asked for and respectfully guides his clients to what might be a better fit for their yard, their budget, their expectations, etc. This is an honest, hardworking small business that larger companies cannot compete with for customer service excellence. I'd been looking for a new service and decided it was fate that I give them a try. Been a customer for almost ten years and never had a problem with Rick but I have had multiple problems with his staff either doing a sloppy job or not even doing the service at all. I attribute this to a lack of quality monitoring by Rick and a lack of pride by his staff in their work. Rick goes through tech turnover regularly, so each year I see a couple new faces...they don't seem to stick around more than a year. Here is a list of things that have happened with different Pool Tender staff over the years: -the pool tech didn't show up for weeks causing the pool to turn green even though they were charging me for service the whole time -the pool tech wreaked of alcohol and weed -the pool tech billed me for supplying chlorine tabs even though I supplied the chlorine. -the pool tech failing to notice or advise the pool robot was inoperable -the pool tech failing to notice or advise the pool pump was malfunctioning -the pool tech failing to brush the pool causing the sides of pool to be black for weeks and weeks -the pool tech being belligerent and lacking customer service skills. I'm attaching videos I took earlier this year in January and February and August of last year. These show the state of the pool after the tech "completed" the weekly service at my house. The walls and floor of the pool were almost black with dirt, the robot was not running just sitting in the same spot for days and days, and the pool pump was not working. If this was your pool, would you be "Good" with the level of service provided? Does $30 for 10 minutes or less at the house seem like a "Good" value?

They would always do an amazing job when they are doing your pool themselves. When we started with them they even allowed me to use their pump at no cost to pump the water out of the pool. So generous. However over the last year or so they have, what I believe, gotten so busy that they have had to hire new people or contract out to other pool cleaners. I think this was due to the owners amazing work ethic. However as that change happened the service and cleanliness of my pool declined. Over that time I have had to maintain my pool more than when the owners were taking care of my pool. I had to fix a mold problem myself when one of their fill ins wasn't taking care of it. I have had to also get in the pool myself and clean the drain of things that should have been taken care of. Also I assume one of the randoms that cleaned the pool messed with the valves and it wasn't working very well. I got it back to perfect now and its cleaning perfectly. Maybe my lack of communication with them led to us having to part ways due to these issues and one other, but if a company hires someone to do a job the owners were doing before make sure they are trained well and can pay attention to detail. I would highly highly recommend them to anyone if the owners will be the ones cleaning your pool. They make you sign a contract which I don't have a problem with and then they tell you that they want to take every single holiday off etc... Which is absolutely ridiculous because the people with pools we typically use the pool for family gatherings etc. during the warm holiday seasons. My main problem with them is that when my filter broke he acted like he didn't know what happened and then told me that I needed to hire someone else to fix it! Leaving me on my own and even more money to spend! . The next two service treatments they left lots of dirt and grid in the pool and didn't even take the time to fish out the debris in the shallow end! Very lazy in my opinion Even after I asked him to remedy the dirty leaves at the bottom of the pool since I was paying them $115 per month! So I went and head and told him that I no longer need his services. When I hired my new pool guy he was very certain that these guys broke my manifold and gasket for my filter he said it had to of been someone pushing it down really hard.
