I called Wyoming anglers around 6pm. Luke replied instantly with a txt saying he would call me at 630 which he did. After talking for a few minutes about fishing conditions I decided to book a half day trip the next morning. Upon arriving at the Wyoming anglers cabin. I met my guide John Zawacki. Once I introduced myself to john he asked me if I would want to sacrifice some scenery for possible better fishing I replied i would rather catch fish since I live in Wyoming and can see the sights anytime. During our 45 minute drive to the boat ramp we chit chatted as we got to know each other more. He told that this is first year guiding which had me a little concerned but assured me we would catch fish. After we launched the boat john proceeded to give me a quick yet thorough casting demo. I havnt picked up a fly rod in about 5 years and was a novice to say the least. John's teaching style was top notch. He really explained it in a way that was super easy to pick up. He helped me increase my skill at least 50% in about 20 minutes. I had mentioned to him that I wanted to increase my skill and he continued to give me tips the entire trip at just the right intrvials to not be to critical. Within 20 minutes we had landed 4 trout and 2 had slipped the hook. John worked his butt off for me especially when the bite slowed rowing up stream change flies multiple times. Once the bite picked up he was like a old fishing buddy rooting me on congratulating me. Wyoming anglers slogan is " come as a guest leave as a friend" that could not have rang truer then it did with John. It was great trip all said and done we caught and landed over 20 16-20 inch rainbows and hooked and lost at least 10. This was the 3rd fishing guide service I have used in my career.one for halibut in Alaska, one in Florida for red fish and now Wyoming for trout. John and Wyoming anglers are simply the best I have used hands down. All I can say is do it you will not be disappointed. read more

I first met Luke a few years ago when my buddies and I were fishing on the banks of Gray Reef and Luke floated by with a couple of guys in his boat. He noticed that we weren't doing very well so he rowed over and asked if he could look at what we were using. Luke then proceeded to completely re-rig all three of our rods with what his guys were using and we started catching fish right away! Man, how many guides would do that? That was the day I discovered Wyoming Anglers! Last week my son, two friends and I floated with Wyoming Anglers on Gray Reef. We had two boats and our guides were Austin and Oggie. I can not recommend these guys enough! We had a fantastic day on the water and between our two boats, we caught close to 100 fish! Both Austin and Oggie worked their butts off putting us on fish. They were constantly on the oars keeping us in the lanes that held the fish and I lost track of how many times they rowed us back up stream to put us back in the fish zones after we drifted through them. As hard as these guys worked for us, what I appreciated the most about them was how nice these guys were to be in the boat with! Having been a guide myself in the Florida Keys and Everglades, I have been around a lot of other guides that can ruin a trip just by their attitude and personality. There were many times that I talked to parties back at the dock that had fished with other guides and said that even though they caught fish, they would never fish with that guide again because he was so miserable to be with! Austin and Oggie were a pleasure to be on the boat with and I would recommend them to any of my guide buddies (the nice ones) who are headed to Wyoming to fish! We are already planning another trip back up in the Fall to fish the Big Horn and Wyoming Anglers and Austin and Oggie will be the team that takes us there! Wyoming Anglers took myself and my colleagues on two days of float fishing on the Big Horn outside of Thermopolis last week. We were slated to wade/float the Miracle Mile on the North Platte, but Luke recommended the Big Horn due to the high winds on the North Platte. Boy am I glad we listened even though it was a bit farther away. We experienced two gorgeous days of fishing with snow and little wind and an outstanding number of fish, I don't think any were less than 18 inches. The fish (rainbows, cuttbows, browns, and even a whitefish) were all healthy, fat, and feisty! Luke and Oggie had our rigs adjusted for every seam or pool on the river and switched us over to streamers when appropriate. We were never not into fish ready to strike. They worked hard to see we had an outstanding time, which we absolutely did. There are no star ratings here, but if there were it would be 5+! Don't hesitate to contact these guys. Their client service is spectacular as well as being great guys to be around. But most importantly for a fisherman, they know their stuff! I just got back from an excellent day on the North Platte River with Wyoming Anglers. I was gun-shy about booking a full day float after experiencing several underwhelming trips with other companies in other Western states. Accordingly, I initially booked just a half day trip, only to find the fishing so good that I asked if I could extend for a full day float. They were flexible and allowed me pay the difference to continue on for the remainder of the day without hesitation. The extended trip was worth it, as I continued hooking plenty of big rainbows (several in the 20" range). My guide, Austen, made all of the difference in ensuring a successful trip that resulted in 21 fish landed with just one angler (me) on the boat. He knew the fish and the flies they would take, tailoring our tackle and tactics perfectly. We had a steady catch rate all day despite extremely high and challenging (6,000+ cfs) flows. This was, hands down, the best guided float experience I have ever had. In short, I would absolutely recommend Wyoming Anglers if you really want a great time fishing the North Platte River. read more

Well here ya go I booked a fishing trip in late June with Wyoming Anglers to fish the North Platte mainly the Miracle mile Stretch and we also stayed in the cabins they offer. This was a trip i had been dreaming about for over 20 years and had high expectations. Well my expectations was met and exceeded and i give all credit to the guides for both days Day one was with Austen and Day two with Oliver . First day we boated over thirty trout and very respectful trout out doing many years of fishing with the size of trout we caught . The second day we did not catch as many trout as the wind had different thoughts for this day but we still caught impressive amount of fish and i caught a trout the size of a football by far biggest trout i have landed. If you want a trip of a life time give theses guys a call you will not be disappointed. The knowledge, Patience and professionalism of these guys are top notch ! What a day we had on the Grey Reef! My dad and I were fortunate enough to spend a day with Logan and Wyoming Anglers, and for two lifelong trout fishermen from Wisconsin, we both agree it was the best day of trout fishing we've ever had. To begin with, I had a brain lapse and got our date wrong by one day, which was very embarrassing. But Luke was understanding and graciously set us up with Logan for the next day. When we got fishing, it became evident to us immediately that Logan knew how to get us on fish and how to coach us up on the nymphing technique that was new to us. He was extremely patient and guided us with a positive and encouraging demeanor. It wasn't long before we were catching those big rainbows the North Platte is famous for! We caught big, hard fighting rainbows all day long, enjoyed a great lunch, and had an all-around awesome experience. Just got back from a late March trip to Grey Reef that we had booked for a 3 night cabin stay and 1 day guided float with Luke Keil and Wyoming Anglers. Can't say enough good things about this operation. We are repeat customers and a lot of fun the first time we were at GR and had an even better and more productive experience this time with WA thanks to the great guide services that Luke provided. This trip was really all about getting to know the river a lot better, the different holes and how to fish them, what flies to use and how the fish behave. John Zawacki was the guide that Luke provided for us and we could not have been more impressed- he really knows his stuff!! I think I learned more about this area from this guy in 1 day than I have ever learned from another guide in any other place. The cabins are great, accessibility, location and service is excellent and the fishing is phenomenal. I love to fish, but finding time to do it sometimes difficult. Therefore, I get my addiction satisfied by joining Austin Haupt from Wyoming Anglers for a float trip down the Miracle Mile. He know right where to go, gives great advice, and even puts up with my crazy fishing techniques. He's well recognized by all the other guides on the river as the guy to ask where to fish and what nymphs to use to catch the fish. He's the teacher of other "guides", from other companies, on the river. While they're "trying" to catch fish, Austin, my son and I, are putting fish in the boat. This last trip, April 29th, I landed 4 brown trout, one cut-throat and a ton of rainbows. And even though it was in the mid 90's as far as temperature goes, Austin kept us in lots of cold water, sunscreen, and then a fantastic lunch. I'm looking forward to our next trip up to Casper with Austin and Wyoming Anglers in the fall to catch the HUGE spawning brown trout at the Mile. read more

My wife and I had a terrific day fishing with Jackson. My wife was an absolute beginner but got into some nice fish. Jackson was so patient and fun to work with, and my wife had a pleasant day on the water. I caught the biggest trout I've ever caught with line peeling off the reel! Jackson knew what he was doing in every respect. He made fine tuned adjustment to the flies, the weight, and the leader, throughout the trip - leading to great success. Jackson also untangled some of the most epic knots I've ever encountered. My wife and I cast into each other's line a couple of times and once I actually hooked my wife, but Jackson managed to undo the damage and put the love back into our marriage. My mom and I booked fly fishing lessons with Dustin and had the best time. Right when we pulled up Dustin was welcoming and ready to get started. He didn't waist a moment, we got in the car and went right to the fishing hole where he set us up with two poles and got right into the lesson. We learned SO MUCH. He was full of so much knowledge that we even taught my dad a thing or two the following weekend when we went out (my dad is a life long fisherman). The lesson was two hours long but Dustin was so stuck on us catching a fish that we fished for three hours. I highly recommend setting up a lesson with Wyoming Anglers, and I even recommend requesting Dustin as your instructor. My son Chad and his two sons fished with Tyler and Justin June 12-13, 2020. What a great experience it was. Tyler was very professional in all the things needed to start the day. He had the knowledge to know just what the fish were hitting on and knew the good areas of the stream for the best results. The hot lunch along the way was the best at midday also. This was also a learning curve since I have not done too much fly fishing. Tyler gave me great pointers along the way, and very patient taking care of tangled line. Just returned from another great outing with guide Oliver Ashenhurst of Wyoming Anglers. Oliver is the hardest working guide I have ever fished with. He did everything he could to make our recent trip to the Miracle Mile a great success. This is my third trip with Oliver and he comes through every time. My fishing partner had troubles on a trip last year getting the hang of drift boat fishing with another outfitter, but this trip Oliver gave him tips and helped him with getting his casts out, mending, and getting a good hook set. My wife and I planned for this fly-fishing trip to the North Platte River in Wyoming a year ago and it lived up to all our expectations! Aiden, our guide was exceptional! He had advanced knowledge of the river, fish and the kind of flies and rods to use. We caught many good sized rainbows and one very, very large brown trout! My buddy and I did a three day trip with our guide Austin. Our guide really made the experience exceptional. He was very knowledgable about the river systems, type of bugs working, and making sure we were getting our bugs in the right spots. He took care of rigging us up, getting the fish in the boat, and did a nice job with any pictures we wanted. He was very accommodating to what we wanted to do, but also made sure that we would catch fish. Overall he was very personable and when I go back will definitely request him again. Just spent 3 days in Casper drifting the Grey Reef section in a Wyoming Anglers boat. This was the 3rd time we have rented from Luke. He runs a great operation whether you use one of his guides or self guide like we did. Process was simple, efficient and very reasonable. Fishing the shoulder season is always risky but we did just fine. Water was dirty and there was some wind but the temps were up so made for comfortable days. We got our fair share for the conditions. Can't wait to get back up and fish again later this year. Look forward to using Wyoming Anglers again. Highly recommend this outfit. read more

Wyoming anglers are a top notch guiding expedition! The north Platte River can be highly unpredictable with constantly adjusting flows and many other boats to compete with sometimes. Our guides, Tyler, Trevor and Dustin were well experienced and highly enthusiastic! They worked hard getting us on the best drifts and adjusting fly patterns throughout the day to accommodate changing conditions. Not only did we catch a fair share of fish between our three boats but the crew set us on an island and fed us a hot lunch of chicken fajitas and sodas! What an outstanding trip! It was the first trip with a guide for my brother and myself fishing together and the coaching and help we received from Rob was fantastic. My brother said it was the best float trip he's ever had and because I've floated with Luke and his guides before I knew what to expect. We stayed at the Trout on Inn and were picked up at our doorstep so we could float down from Grey Reef to the take out at Lusby, and be right there at the cabin. We just got back from a corporate fishing trip with Wyo Anglers. Oggie and Austen were our guides. They knew the water, the fish, and the entomology. Smart enough to know with rising and lowering stream flows the fish were not going to bite in certain parts of the Grey Reef. They instead took us someplace special and we killed it. Customer caught fish, I caught fish - and this was my first drift trip. Austen gave me fantastic instruction that I will use for the rest of my fishing days.
