We paid to feed the bison, not realizing they would give you food for free on the train ride. That was a bit frustrating, but you can add the food they pass around to your bag so you have plenty to give to the bison. Our kids had a fantastic time and it was a lot of fun feeding the bison on the train. I think this is a great activity to do in the area with kids and it was definitely a highlight in our trip. The Terry Bison Ranch is the only place I have ever heard about where you can hand feed Bison. They also have other things to do here. We got here an hour and a half before our train departed and we have plenty to do. They have lots of animals on this ranch from full grown ostriches and baby ones, a long horn cow, plenty of chickens, baby bison that you can pet, lots of horses, goats, and much more. On the ride over to feed the bison, they had a train robbery reenactment which was fun. The whole train ride takes about an hour to make sure to use the restrooms before getting on. It's a great place to bring kids. Prices were reasonable. $20 per adult $10 for kids to ride the train and $10 for bison feed which is a must. They give you a decent amount of food in the bag. No reservations needed you can buy tickets at the general store. There they have plenty of souvenirs to buy and can answer any questions you may have. An easy day trip from Denver. If you are on a roadtrip I'd recommend stopping here if you are heading to Wyoming from Colorado or vice versa.

Following our picnic, we headed over to the welcome center and enjoyed the elevated views from an almost bird's eye vantage point. We also took the time to follow the upper and lower decks around the building perimeter to view all of the informational displays. We could even seen the wind turbine field at the horizon's edge from this spot, which we believed to be quite far away. Researched this when I returned home and it supposedly was about 30 miles away, which speaks to the clear air and the elevated views.

There were basketball courts which were being taken full advantage of. There is lots of green space and water. I saw multiple sculptures and children playing on the playground equipment. It's obviously a popular spot for walking, jogging and biking as well. They have an artists area with some play equipment and they have some of the infamous boots in this park as well. This is a small town and the RV Park/campground is run by the City of Pine Bluffs. We stayed here…read morefor just over 3 weeks while my husband worked in the area. I'll try to break it down to the good, the bad, and the ugly. The Good: The time of year we came in, we were able to get a reservation easily. There are full service 50 and 30 amp hook ups, plenty of room for a big RV (ours is 44'), you're not sitting on top of each other (room between sites), laundry on site (although only 1 dryer was working at the time), restrooms and showers which were clean, nothing in town is less than 5 minutes away, and most is within walking distance. The people in the park, fr the most part, stayed to themselves and most people staying there were working in the area so were long term. The Bad: The worst part about the whole experience was the stickers! The park was infested with goat head stickers/thorns and burrs. My two dogs were with us and I was constantly having to pull stickers out of their paws and our shoes and the stickers would end up in the RV. The second bad thing is that the park is close to the train tracks and there are trains constantly. Almost every night we would be woken up by trains blowing their horns, which I am aware is park of their job and safety, but I often thought they were being vindictive because at times they would lay on the horn for 30 seconds or more while traveling through town and usually at 1 or 2 in the morning. The Ugly: Our one bad experience was with a group of young guys that were staying in the park (working locally) that had been drinking and stayed up late, playing very loud music and getting a little rowdy. The "Ugly" was that there was no local patrol or police to intervene. Any late night calls go to the Sheriff in Cheyenne, which is 40+ miles away. That particular situation wasn't that bad, but had it been worse, it's a long wait for assistance. With all of that said, I would stay there again if we needed to. I would try and find a site with less stickers (not sure they exist) and hope the train was less noisy, but the town is nice, the price was very reasonable ($350/month or $30/night) and the people in the area were friendly. It would be nice if they'd do something to spray the goat head thorns, though.

I had been to this park many, many moons ago. It was nice but since then - WOW!…read more All "neighborhoods" are well maintained and clean. The bathrooms sparkle despite being poop pits. They are cleaned many times a day. We found people are respectful and keep their dogs under control. They also have lockers at each site to put food in. There is a nice loop trail with an option to go a little further. If you do the short loop, be careful you don't miss the hard turn about 100 degrees to the left to head back to camp at the wooden sign on the trail. Enjoy!

We have been going to Mountain Park for 25 years. The new Company managing the Park is the worst…read morethe Park has ever seen. We never saw a bathroom or showers cleaned in the 6 days we were there. Out of order showers, the ones that did work offered only cold water. The former Management Company was great. These new camp hosts never even raked or cleaned a site the entire time. It is shameful that this Company was awarded this contract. Pay no attention to reviews before this year, it used to be managed amazingly but in 2025 they awarded the job to a Company that does nothing.

Also, it's important to note that this location is about 200yards from a major railway crossing. This equates to high-decible train horns about every 15 minutes day and night. To top that off, the neighboring community (about 100 feet from the edge of the campground sites) have some enthusiastic roosters.
