I feel like this is the forgotten, neglected park of Cheyenne. It's not the prettiest park ever but it has tons of property for my dog to run around and there is rarely more than 2 people here at a time. Theres a small pond here that my dog likes to jump in too. This park is equipped with a covered shelter, restrooms, horse shoe pit, volleyball net and BBQ grill pits. There's also an old caboose in the parking area.

It's a nice park, but beware that homeless people like to set up camp in the area often.

Traveling across country, this was a great place to stretch both of our dog legs. It is not fenced but they have a great/easy walking path.

The ground has several sculptures around the outside, with one large cowboy riding a bucking bronco representing the spirit of Wyoming. The building had quite a bit of wood accents throughout and I really liked the restoration outcome with the wonderful stained glass ceilings in the senate and house chambers as well as the rotunda. There have been several restorations and there was a plaque for each displayed throughout the building. They also had a fun Hall of History where you enter through an old safe's door to get into a set of rooms with TV's and videos that can be played that tell the story of the capitol and the area around Cheyenne. It was definitely worth the visit, and I would recommend the stop to family and friends.

A friendly staff member will greet you upon entering and let you know all the points of interest for the tour. I loved the building and being able to tour around with my family members. The rich history can be seen in the decor and will make you feel proud of Wyoming. Wow, if walls could talk! We should get involved in government even if it is just taking a tour to see what our tax dollars are funding.
