Pretty cool to visit. It's where Wyoming became the first state to grant women the right to vote, earning its "Equality State" nickname. The building just got a massive $300 million dollar renovation that was completed back in 2019. Now the restored marble, stained glass ceilings, and a real gold-leaf dome gleam no matter where you stand.

What is impressive: - 2019 Renovation. 5 years lots of $$$. It looks great - Openness. No metal detectors. No visible security. Go where you'd like. Tour on your own. Enjoy the splendor. - Educational. Take a few minutes and watch the video about the building and what went into the renovation. - Chambers. Visit the Senate and House and see where the members work. - Gold plated dome. Yes pure gold leaf up there. Overall impressive state capitol. If you are from Wyoming, you should be very proud. What a beautiful testament to a good government who cherished its sacred history in modernizing the peoples house.

Loved this experience. Wife brought me into Cheyenne from fort Collins while visiting family. Got to check another state off my list and as we were driving in saw this amazing building. Stopped to take pictures and found out you could do a self-guided tour. The lady at the information desk was super helpful, absolutely wonderful, and a beacon of sunshine she and her just to go in to the offices that weren't in use and see the courts and where the representatives meet and all of it was absolutely amazing. To know that it had recently been restored and they had just opened a new exhibit for people on the bottom floor the week before made it feel really special. I loved the statues that they had around the rotunda and all the stained glass as well as the pictures in the corners of each of the large rooms representing the history of Wyoming. Best of all this is free It cost nothing and you learn a lot of history including seeing all the previous governors from their portraits hung on the walls.

The Wyoming State Capital Building isn't particularly impressive; it's a small and rather plain building as State Capitals go. Tip: It tends to be very quiet here, so you'll probably feel like you have the whole place to yourself All things considered, I wouldn't suggest going out of your way to pay this place a visit. For me, it would only make sense if I was already in the neighborhood.

The Wyoming State Capital isn't the grandest nor the most beautiful I've seen, but it does have its areas of charm. You would think that the interior would be just as exquisite as the exterior, but the designers missed the mark in quite a few areas. The overall layout is wonky and pretty enclosed on the upper levels, especially if you use a walker or wheelchair. As far as the private rooms and galleries go, those were each unique and interesting to browse through. Worth a stop to see what the capital is like. And it's located in a very beautiful area with lots of shopping and restaurants to spend a day on the town!

I loved the vibe of this capitol building, it's not as big as other states but it's beautiful. I loved the buffalo and cowboy statues around the complex. It's so quiet, as most of Cheyenne, so you feel like you have it all to yourself. I'm glad I got to see it.

On our journeys we love to visit state Capitols, and this one is a newly remodeled beauty. After taking pictures of the lovely exterior and statues, we went inside to be warmly greeted by the re epitome ship. He explained a bit about the building g and told us about the self directed tour. Inside was just as lovely with stained glass, statues, and beautiful paintings and word work. After your tour don't miss the nearby Wyoming State museum which was also wonderful and free of charge.

Gorgeous Capitol renovations done here in 2019 I believe. It's smaller than other Capitol buildings I've been to. There is street parking. It was very quiet when I toured and I was able to walk right in and grab info on a self guided tour. I almost walked right in to the Governor's office to ask a question but I saw a sheriff nearby and he was able to kindly answer my question. Everything is beautifully presented with perfect lighting in the building. The "Four Sisters" statues are so elegantly designed. I really enjoyed reading the renovation background in the pamphlets that are provided. I think if you're into architecture and historical information, you may enjoy visiting. I did.

Arrived in Cheyenne to plant the flag and capture a review of my EIGHTEENTH state Capitol building and my first state Capitol for 2017. Yeah, it's easy to collect states. I'm trying to collect State Capitols. Woot. Unfortunately, the building was wrapped up and closed due to a long standing remodeling effort. I know that they need to remodel but didn't they know I was coming? Outside is nice and the gold dome is beautiful.

This is an absolutely a beautiful building. Proportions to perfection. And then you enter to a most welcoming Staff that are some of the friendliest I've encountered. No security hurdles to endure at this capitol. I particularly like the grand staircase a woodworkers dream job. picture

The house and senate chambers were emptied out so not much to see in there but was nice to see the air work in rooms.
