Above what I had paid. All different fees. While staying I did call the front desk asking about the fees. I was put on hold and left there. I had to hang up. After communicating with the hotel, Maneger was supposed to reach out to me to explain why I was charged. He never did. Still waiting for four refunds. He definitely needs to improve communications with costumers. Through I did explain to them I was still having to drive back to California with limited funds after staying in the hotel. Hotel is pretty and my room was nice. But the bed did smell dirty like it was washed with no laundry soap. After cleaning service reached are room. The floor wasn't cleaned. The bar on the 7th floor costumer service was great also the restaurant on the first floor. Valet also was great. The bar on the first floor the bartender she seemed like she didn't want to serve my husband and I. When asking questions about drinks she would just say that's all we have. Will not stay there again and do not recommend.

Was greeted by the host who offered us a recommendation for dinner downtown. Left our bags and headed out. When we arrived back at 9 PM my son found and killed a giant cockroach at the entrance to our cottage. I was so bothered by the sight, that when we got into our room I asked him to please open all the dresser drawers and check under the bed etc for more. This is when I noticed how dirty the room really was. The fabric covered pillows used on the bed looked like they'd never been washed. The windows covered in spiderwebs. Just old and dingy. My son left to the bathroom to shower while I spoke with my husband on the phone. As I told my husband about the unwanted visitor, I spotted another smaller cockroach on the floor next to my bed. My son came when I screamed and confirmed after stepping on it that yes it was another cockroach. At this point I was so frazzled by the sight of these nasty bugs. I sat on the bed while he searched for more. One in the bathroom. And then I looked up and found one on the ceiling! By now I had all of our stuff packed back into our bags and headed for the owner. I returned the room key and told her I couldn't sleep here. She tried to tell me the cockroaches couldn't hurt me, that they are to be expected in the south, and the presence of roaches in my room was not an indication of the homes cleanliness. I beg to differ. That's exactly what it is indicative of. I haven't received a refund and she never offered or mentioned one. The Marriott we went to was pristine and roach free. Such a shame, the homes were beautiful from the outside.

I enjoyed swimming in the pool, the body wash provided was a really nice scent, and the ultra modern room decor was a nice change from the tired resort scenery I'm used to in my home state. There was also a comfortable lobby where I hung out with a friend one of the nights of my stay. I was there for a Columbus State University Schwob School of Music event and found the location SUPER convenient. You are basically right across the street, kitty-corner. If you're here for something there or in the attached theater, it makes a lot of sense to stay here. BTW the King room had a big sofa in it if anyone finds that helpful or useful.

The location is great--extremely walkable to a lot of what Columbus has to offer. One of those things is a train. It will come through at different times of the day and night. Because it trolleys through the town on top of the street, they are blasting their horn for ~15 mins at a time to warn pedestrians and vehicles. I was awoken many times throughout the stay as it makes its way down the street, directly in front of the hotel. It'll be 10, 11, 12, 2, 4 AM. It doesn't matter. It feels like the train is right inside your room. The volume is so extreme, I could actually feel vibrations on the 4th floor. My room had a lot of water damage in the bathroom. The floors were spongy, buckled, and sticky. The shower surfaces were also covered in gooey residue. The biggest offender of cleanliness was the bed. One of the beds had makeup/dirt on the corner of the sheet closest to where your face would be. I let front desk know about all of the messes of the room and they sent house cleaning in the morning. They cleaned the bathroom, but instead of replacing the sheets or bedding, they just remade the bed. You could tell it was the exact same sheet because it was the same brown stains and same corner of the bed. It really makes you wonder what they are actually cleaning between guests. Another gripe is the door lock situation. When you open the door, there is a 50% chance that your deadbolt lock will activate. This means you're held hostage from leaving your room until you get it to go back inside the door. I called the front desk to troubleshoot and ask for maintenance. They eventually sent maintenance to confirm this was happening, but the front desk insisted this was a feature not a bug. It is extremely inconvenient if you're trying to leave your room quickly. This issue also caused a hand injury for one of my colleagues as most of us in our group (we had 7 reservations) had this issue with the doors. Forgot to mention, a smoke alarm went off for almost 45 mins inside another guests' room on the floor. The poor guy had literally just checked in and was not smoking. Not a great stay. Most of the staff was super friendly and accommodating. There is an M lounge and a connected Houlihan's. The bartenders and staff there are excellent.
