Stayed here for a week, definitely a huge improvement from the old lodging. Plus they serve breakfast every day and a diner on Wednesday. I am really upset about this. We arrived on Christmas Day to find a note on our door that water will be off on Wednesday. Okay. We planned for it. Out most of the day. Every other evening arrived with no note. We wake Friday morning to a note saying that water would be turned off tomorrow. So we figured that's satisfy. NOPE. Found out the hardest trying to shower after a gym workout. Had to go to the nearby gym. Also we understand that housekeeping wants to leave at noon everyday BUT they dud t even attempt to clean our room. I mean I don't need the bed made everyday. I can do that but towels and trash. BOOK OFF POST! Day shift is abrasive and rude ... it's as though they forget they are in the hospitality industry - just because the hotel is on an army Installation. (I've never had an issue with night shift). Maintenance is seriously lacking and reactive. (but the maintenance staff are friendly and great) Every time I've stayed here, there has been an issue: either with the door/keys, fridge, shower & hot water. Let's talk about cleanliness: First of all, You have to ask for house keeping to do the basic things you PAY for a hotel do: towels, trash, bed made. But they charge the same. And the last three times I have been here I have found grossness in my room (and three of those time have been since the COVID-19 pandemic wave hit in March). But for this stay: the glass I wanted to drink from had stuck on who the F knows what. And ALL the Kitchenette utensils had baked on Reminence of meals once made in this room. Can we say #noCOVID! The bathroom is clean this time ... so that's nice (after I had to switch rooms.) I am a Marriott person and I stayed here because it was so much more convenient for work - but it's not worth it anymore. I'll post pictures of the trash just hanging out in the hallway from a lack of house keeping and care. Should have taken pics of the kitchen before I cleaned it. read more

Very nice hotel and the staff is friendly. However, this is the second time in a row I was put in a room at the end of the corridor which sounds nice but the exit door is constantly opening and slamming closed and being on a reverse sleep schedule really makes it difficult to sleep. But the rooms are nice with a kitchenette, good sized tv, plenty of drawers and hanger space. Room have plenty of floor space too, we had a room with a queen size bed and still put up our daughter pack-n-play without being cramped at all. read more

his is a bit of a read, but absolutely necessary for proper recognition of the service given. MY husbands graduation was placed on hold due to weather and a minor injury. I booked a hotel on "Travel Defense" that was advertised by photos as a great place to stay. The price wasn't "too cheap" nor "too expensive", so I figured that it would be a great match for my needs. I am traveling with my 5 babies (all under 8) so to me, the place we stay at needed to be safe and secure. When I arrived at that hotel, the photos and even some reviews did not add up. The entire situation was perilous. I left my review there, so there is no need to get deeper into details. I called the hotel agency I booked through, and they offered no support aside from a refund that would take between 7-10 business days to process. I felt so vulnerable and exposed. When I explained my situation, I asked for a change of hotel or a travel credit that I could use to get another hotel for the evening. The Representative told me verbatim, " I understand your situation ma'am, but Its only the night that you'll need to be in your vehicle, then tomorrow you should be fine." UNACCEPTABLE, DISTASTEFUL, AND INCONSIDERATE. My heart sunk as I realized I would not be able to get somewhere else for my kids at the rates of the other hotels suitable in the area. As a mama, I had no choice but to relent at the mercy of anyone who could help. I prayed in my car, composed myself and drove back to my husbands company. On the way there, I was passing "Abrams Hall", to which I had remembered, when I checked earlier the night before, was a little too pricey for me on such a strict budget. I figured I could at least sleep in that hotel parking lot because it would be safe and I could leave in the morning. I pulled into the parking lot and I had a feeling like I should go in. I am a Christ follower, so I firmly believe it was the Holy Spirit leading me. I stepped out of the car, and composed myself as much as I could to keep my children from seeing and the front desk personnel. I am SO THANKFUL I found enough humility and courage to walk into those doors. Both Allice and Miniah were the two women that greeted me as I walked into the hotel. There was quite a few guests in the lobby which made it a little more intimidating because of course people listen in and if I was to be turned away, I would have been more humiliated by the mass. Allice kindly listened to my situation and remained attentive the entire time not showing any signs of lack of concern or annoyance. She let me finish my statements and free of embarrassment at that. She asked me a few questions, punched in a few details and gave me my room at an exceptional (within her boundaries) rate. Of course when payment was due, I slid my card in confidence knowing I found someone who God directly had His hand on to extend the mercy and grace needed for my situation. She knew I was not looking for a hand out but rather a workable rate and a little compassion for the circumstances. Of course, I started crying with relief and expressing a much warranted amount of gratitude and respect for this young lady and her empathy, NOT sympathy she had for myself and my children. As I tried to recompose myself quietly again as more customers were approaching the counter to my left, she handed me a tissue and offered such a warm smile. Alongside her Miss Miniah, also offered both kind words and reassurance to me that I was going to be ok. They both allowed me to stand there and gather myself a few minutes to re-present myself to my children understanding my "why" as a mama. The amount of compassion expressed here by both of these women, has boosted my faith a little bit more. I am so thankful for them both and their respect for people and their workplace. The resolutions and benignity provided by both Miss Allice and Miss Miniah should absolutely receive accolades and a surpass able amount of plaudits by both the hotel AND IHG themselves. I'd be glad to stay again should I ever be in the area. Thank you both! read more

Brand new, very nice accommodations! Impressive for a military hotel! I think because its so new theres some quirks/kinks to work out. the room was awesome! Living space with a desk and a power tower, kitchenette with dishwasher, glass stove top and refrigerator. plenty of storage and large closet in the bedroom for those extended stays TVs in living space and bedroom. Brand-new blow dryer on the wall nice retractable cord, however it's rather a nuisance having to hold the button to try to keep the dang thing on- if you move your hand around styling, the dryer stops unless you fully grip it. Theres also an Ironing board/iron and an in closet safe. Free continental breakfast -choice of cheerios, bagel, light yogurt, cold boiled eggs, juices, coffee. Hopefully they will ADD to the breakfast choices -Fitness room with 5 treadmills, ellipticals, and 3 bikes. Body balls and mats. Towels available as well as sanitary wipes however it was apparent members who used to the treadmills chose not to use cleaning wipes after they sweat all over everything. Probably need a BIG sign that says please clean up after yourselves. No free weights or resistance bands- which would make the facility more useful. There are 2 TVS, but no remotes - probably needed to ask front desk but I had youtube to entertain me. -Guess laundry is FREE! Nice new large front loads and a big laundry sink on each floor , also a gear wash station! -Study rooms each floor and a business Office with computers and printers on the first floor Overall very quiet, clean, and comfy. read more

Designed with the military traveler in mind, this place is essentially a holiday inn express. The rooms are big. They come with queen beds, small kitchenettes, stocked with pots, pans, and tableware, a tv, plenty of storage, and more. Would I stay here again? Yes. A few notes. Laundry is free. There is a laundry room on every floor, in every wing. The hot water sucks, I just have to live with that. I have two availabke hdmi ports on tge tv for my fire stick and playstation. My room came with internet cables. The wifi does not seem slow to me. The fitness center is adequate, with cardio equipment, freeweights, and mat space. It is quiet, very large, and centered in the post. It is within 5 minutes of a gas station and 24 hour shoppette, arby's, subway, gym, dunkin donuts, commissary, px, mini mall, movie theater, and so much more. They provide basic amenities, such as the normal soaps and stuff, hair dryer, iron and board, and a laundry basket. Its a good hotel. If I come back to the area I will stay here again. read more

I've stayed here for attending Airborne School. First of all, the rooms are great. They are spacious, clean, and serviced every day. The free breakfast provided as well as the business center with free computer/printer/internet access and the complimentary laundry room is excellent. The only gripe I do have with this place is the wireless internet in the rooms, which is absolutely slow and horrible probably because there are like over 800 people staying here. I stayed here for about a month for training and it couldn't have been a better experience. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly. The internet works really well and I had no issues with it. We ended up in the dog hotel which is Gavin Hall. Decent room without carpet. Two burner hotplate with dishes and cookware, Microwave and fridge. They will change the towels and make the bed daily, but only thoroughly clean the room once a week. They supposedly clean the floor if it looks dirty, but I didn't feel like it was done at all other than by one lady. I ended up asking for the broom to clean it myself. The tub was cleaned once a week, but the bathroom basin was not cleaned. Shower had good water pressure and the beds were nothing amazing, but they weren't uncomfortable. If you only have one bed you're given 2 towels, so we're had to constantly all for an extra one for my child. There was never an issue getting more, it was just more of an annoyance. A couple of the ladies were not very friendly, but a couple were awesome. The people at Abrams seemed much more friendly. Food at Gavin was cereal, yogurt, oatmeal packs, milk, coffee and a juice machine. We always end up at Abrams since they had moreoptions: Omelets, choices of meat, a pancake machine that serves out 2 large pancakes with the push of a button. Ready oatmeal, fruits, granola, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, coffee, juice and a soda machine. On Wednesday evenings, they have a social where they have salad and a main dish which helps with saving a bit of money. They also do trivia where you can win money which is super awesome too! Large hall for eating and usually pretty packed. Laundry room is free, just get your own detergent. I think in Abrams has a laundry on every floor. They have a business center, exercise area which is always clean, and a covered play area. (Beware...it gets hot... The benches aren't covered, just the play area itself). Not a bad stay, just disappointed at the poor cleaning job. read more

Sink clogged on day one. Room smelled like extreme body odor/sweat. Didn't have any hot water for a shower 3 mornings in a row. Maintenance fixed sink but didn't fix the smell or the hot water. Disappointed that this is where soldiers have to stay on base. Especially for a newer Hotel. Extremely disappointed Would love a point of contact to discuss with. read more

Alright, it's no Embassy Suites with made to order omelettes and nightly happy hour but probably the nicest hotel I've been to on any military installation. This hotel is brand new with all the bells and whistles you would desire in a long term stay away from home to include a stove and refrigerator in your room with cooking utensils, dishes, and even a kitchen sink! Hotel amenities include free laundry, hot breakfast, dinner on Wednesday's, and even a room to clean TA-50. There are more but those are the highlights for me. The rooms are also among the nicest and newest of any hotel I've stayed in for the per diem rate, anywhere. I'd be happy to stay here again! read more

I was pleasantly surprised with my stay at Abrams Hall. It's not the Taj Mahal Palace but it is certainly the nicest Army hotel I've stayed in on a military installation. The hotel seems to be recently built and has just about every accommodation you would need to comfortably stay for a couple of days or even months for Army schooling. The rooms come with a small refrigerator, a small electric stove, a microwave, sink, and even pots and pans and utensils. Unfortunately, the pots and pans were unserviceable because they were very damaged and using them to cook food would result in ingesting more carcinogens than I would ever want. The room itself is actually very roomy with a queen sized bed, recliner sofa, giant TV, a desk, wardrobe, etc. The hotel also provides breakfast- nothing special, just fruits, oatmeal packets, breads, cereal, and sometimes some hot options such as eggs or sausages. But they do host a weekly social on Wednesday where they serve dinner and facilitate trivia with monetary prizes. There's a business center and fitness center open 24/7 and a laundry facility on every floor/wing- for free. Just bring your own detergent. The only thing is that their internet is deathly slow which is unfortunate if you're trying to get work done. read more

If you are attending graduation for OCS or IBOLC this is a great hotel choice. The free breakfast isn't fancy and it doesn't ever change, but it's free and saves you a few bucks each day. There's daily service, the room is spacious, the employees are very friendly. Only downside is this hotel is huge. Very huge. And the trip from the front desk to your room could be a five to ten minute walk. They have free grills for you to use, free laundry, and a small gym (not good, but free). The one star off is for the terrible wi fi in the room. It's non existent. read more

Honestly, it's just okay. For over $100 a night and being on post it's fine for retirees. But there's apparently a lot of militaries Soldier-students staying here for school so it's just weird rubbing elbows with so many uniforms moving quickly and intensely to class when I'm on vacation. And, with a limited amount of things to do on post, you may as well find something on the economy and feel relaxed and not like you're possibly interfering with there important studies. read more

Great facility with over 800 rooms. Best rooms I have stayed in over 58 years of being involved with the military. It has only been open a few months and went through a management change on Oct 1st to the IHG group and the transition has caused some minor issues. Once they work through them it will be great. Sadly, we did not have a good experience at this hotel. We stayed 3 nights here at this on-base hotel. It is the very first time we have ever NOT had our bed made or room somewhat tidied; which we discovered our first full day after returning to our room. We went to the front desk and inquired as to why. We were told it was because we had something on the bed. (There were 2 folded pair of khaki slacks at the foot of the unmade bed). I accepted it without complaint. The next morning, at around 6:30, I went to the front desk and told them that we would be bringing our soldier (on-base hotel) back with us later that afternoon and to please request that housekeeping do up our room so he could relax and perhaps nap if he needed to. We arrived back to the hotel around 2:00 pm to discover that housekeeping had NOT been to our room. I returned to the front desk and was told that someone would be right down. We gathered our things from the room (computer, iPad, etc) and went to the lobby, even though we just wanted to rest and relax in our room. After one hour, I went to my room to check while my wife and our son (Soldier) stayed in the lobby area. Sadly, NO ONE had been in to touch our room. I approached the front desk and said we were going back to our room to rest as our time with our son was limited. Ten minutes later, housekeeping knocked on our door and we said, "Never mind" as the timing was very frustrating. That evening after returning our soldier to his barracks, I AGAIN went to the front desk to find out what happened and this time I was told that beds are only made when they are requested. That "with 900 rooms we can't do them everyday." I pointed out that the sign on the back of my room's toilet says otherwise. It was a weekday, not a weekend. Also was told that "Housekeeping came and we refused." I reminded them that I did INDEED request my bed be made that day at around 6:30 am and then again reminded them upon my afternoon return and even waited uncomfortably an additional hour. I got an apology. With prompting I was offered half off one of my days stays. My bed was NEVER made by housekeeping my entire stay! Not a comfortable place to bring your soldier back to if they want to peace and quiet and perhaps some rest. read more

This place was great. I stayed here for my boyfriends graduation and i was very pleased by the friendly staff and the clean rooms. I'm usually a little bit weird about hotels because of germs but it was clean and the sheets were SO soft and great. I felt like i was in my bed at home. The bathrooms were also stocked with good shampoo and conditioner (full size) (good brand) which i appreciated. The rooms also have a stove top and a Keurig which was great. I definitely recommend. They had a leak and the water was brown for three days. I got comped for 1 night even though I could not brush my teeth or shower for three days straight. The faucet was yellow and white in the sinks and we were told to just run the water for 10 minutes and it would clear up. On the 2nd night when the water worked for a couple minutes my wife and I hopped in for a quick shower, only for the maintenance man to knock loud like the police and barge in our room with me getting the floor wet and in a towel, thank for it was me and not my wife. I had to check out the hotel early because of this and it was a big inconvenience. The staff was unorganized and I was late to formation at OCS because of this. read more

I could have stayed anywhere but I was excited to get to stay at this new property on my first return to Benning in a year. Check in was fast and efficient. Unfortunately, when I got to my room, it was not ready to rent. It was obvious the cleaning staff did not prep/ clean the room to standard and no one checked it to ensure it was ready to go. The tile floor and carpets were filthy, there were what looked like human secretions on an end table, a dumped out package of fake finger nails in the end table, and other human excrement on the wall in the bathroom. Called the desk, no other rooms available, spoke to management and their solution was to send the cleaning crew and have me wait while they clean the room. My solution was to go to bed on time (after driving for 7 hours) and they could give me the room for free. The night "manager" wouldn't commit to that and said she'd leave a note for the day manager. The thrill is gone. Guess it'll be the Columbus DoubleTree when I come back next time. read more

The two things I want when I go to a hotel are a clean bed and wifi. They had a clean bed and nice new rooms. Their wifi would not connect. I called the front desk to ask for assistance or any help, and they basically said good luck. This is going to be a long 3 weeks without wifi here. Consolation is they do have a computer room, but you obviously can't do work or save stuff on public computers. read more

Jessica, the night manager, was absolutely one of the rudest individuals I have experienced. She should not be in a customer service oriented occupation.
