One of the best places to rent 1-2 BR apts in the Hampden/Roland Park/Charles Village triangle. We spent eight totally fun and happy years here from freak snowstorms in winter to sticky August days where the temperatures rarely fell below the upper 90s. The building is 1930s vintage with quirky touches - a brass mail chute, lots of great tile and woodwork, marble floors, a "secret" fire escape slide, and a pretty and well landscaped surroundings where you can get a tan, play with kids, have a cook-out, or just hang out. Beech Avenue is lovely, shady, and family-friendly, spectacular in spring and fall when the trees steal the show. Halloween is also nice for seeing 21st century kids dressed up as iPods, not the robots of old.
Vita, Rusty, and the whole staff at Wyman Park are amazing - friendly, knowledgeable, handy, experienced, and care about their tenants. You cannot reproduce a place like this - it is too special for that. When we left, we missed them and the apartment. It was like saying farewell to part of the family.
Practically speaking, street parking is pretty easy to find, you can walk from here to the Charles Village farmers' market (awesome), the Rotunda, and the Avenue. And there are great walks in the park itself, in Hampden, and nearby Roland Park. read more
