I have had them do this in the past and gave them my info. They called me back later the same day to say that they had a 'like new' used version of the game in stock, and said I could pick it up today. I said sure and dropped in later the same dayw. The used game as 90% of the price of the new - and I found it new online for the same price - but again, I want to support local, so I went ahead and purchased it. When I got home and opened the used game was not the same as a new game. It was an older version of it, without the updated ruleset, without changes to the board and pieces. It was significantly different and less refined. We recently visited some friends and played the newer version of the game, the version that inspired us to purchase the game, the version I thought I was buying. IT was so much better than the version I was sold. I was a local, loyal customer. I could have bought the game online for the same price. I chose them, and they let me down.

There's a huge selection of Magic the Gathering sets to choose from, not just the most recent couple of releases. The prices are right, and Gus is always willing to help you find what you're looking for. My only gripe with the place is the hours. They usually open at 12 (1pm on Sundays), and that's so late. This is a problem with all the hobby shops in town (and elsewhere, I'm sure), so I won't mark him down for it.

I had never been to a Hobby Lobby before and was surprised how many lovely decor choices this one…read morehad. I thought it was more of a craft store but it actually has tons of home decor in themed categories like USA, Beach House, Princess, Glam, etc. The store was clean and well organized and the employees were super friendly and went out of their way to help us find things. The cashier who checked me out was very friendly. One annoying thing happened though - they did not offer any bags (unless I bought a $1.50 "reusable" bag that was ugly and too big and I'd never use again) at all. Our state recently has an enviro-friendly bag mandate where you have to buy re-usable plastic bags for 8 cents. No biggie. I had JUST been to Target and Walmart and both of those places had plenty of 8 cent bag options to wrap my merchandise (I'd spent $400 at Target and $300ish at Walmart). Hobby Lobby didn't have a single bag available to wrap a canvas art "painting" in so I could get it to my car in the rainstorm without the paint getting wet. So, I had to put the item aside and not buy it since the cashier had no idea how she would wrap it so I could get it to the car without being ruined. While I wish I had thought to bring reusable bags with me in the car, I hadn't known I was shopping that day so I hadn't planned ahead. It seems a little ridiculous that Target and Walmart can figure out how to protect purchases and Hobby Lobby hasn't figured it out yet. So, if I go there again, I'll have to plan ahead and bring my own bags or not buy big things that don't fit in bags.

The owners (who own the one in Kirkland too) told me that other rock shops mark up rocks and then only lower the price during sales, but this rock shop keeps it at the lowest price 24/7. I ended up buying 12 awesome rocks - watermelon tourmaline, sunstone, selenite desert rose, serpentine, kyanite, lapis lazuli, purple fluorite, snowflake obsidian, smoky quartz, howlite, rose quartz, and bronzite. Each of them were between $2 and $4. If you're looking for large specimens, there are HUGE ones here that almost reach $2000. There's even a dollar bin and glass gems in the kids section. Up and down the shelves are an intense variety of rocks, from bismuth to vanadanite to cinnabar and even fire opals . You can also find jewelry for a loved one - necklaces, rings, bracelets, and more. If you're looking for rare red beryl for an extremely good deal, healing crystals, birthstones, fossils, books, rock tumblers and grit, meteorite fragments, gifts, items for your collection, and anything else for a great deal, come to Earthlight Rocks and Gems. Then when I pointed out that the sticker said it was $60, he decided to go on an unprovoked rant and guilt me for buying it because the distributor is hard to work with. I don't work for Bandai, I'm sorry? I also messaged the store Facebook page on a Monday to ask if they would take a trade and he told me that they are closed on Mondays and I should respect that and not message him... Like he is somehow forced to work and couldn't have just checked it the next day? The message wasn't from James Bond, it did not expire after opening and could have been responded to any of the seven days that week. It's not the customer's fault if you don't know how to take a day off? The store is clean but the inventory is very limited and rarely changes. Can't say I recommend stopping by because you'll spend longer walking inside from your car then it takes you to peruse their two shelves. One of which is just filled to the brim with basic Funkos so if that's not your thing... 1 and 1/2 shelves. I support small businesses but not bad business owners. Still, it's a fantastic shop to find small toys, gifts and stocking stuffers for the littles. Everything from books and games, puzzles, stuffed animals, blocks and bricks, rubber figurines, finger puppets, fidgets, dice, gag gifts and, yes, true to its name, lots of wooden toys in various forms and functions. Need a rubber band gun, or a prop plane powered by a similar elastic engine? This is your place. As someone who has recently become a father for the first time (and maybe this is the curmudgeon in me talking), but toys that provide hands-on, analog stimulation are far more enriching and engaging that the endless, mindless crap spit out by the algorithms behind YouTube and TikTok. The Wood Shop is the kind of store that specializes in the types of toys that were popular before smartphones became the ubiquitous child distraction devices that they are today. On that point alone, I'm glad it's here, and (seemingly) thriving.
