Corina and a friend of hers played Let's Go to Japan on their last visit and she wanted to show it to us. We loved it! So much so that we wanted to purchase it there. Unfortunately, they didn't carry it so we will get it from a place in our town. We did purchase a couple of expansions for our Wingspan and Finspan games. There is a cafe but we showed up after dinner each time so we didn't check that out. We did get our daughter a gift card with 6 visits on it for $25. Excellent deal. Another great deal is that Thursday nights are free. We didn't know that when we showed up so we got our first visit free. We also saw they have table signs you can use: willing to teach and maybe wants to learn (?) on them. Our first visit, a man had the willing to teach sign on his table with a couple other men learning to play. Great idea! We will be in town later this year and will definitely get back there to play more games. Excellent customer service and cozy, comfortable places to be with your group.

I was surprise by the number of games we had to choose from and how knowledgeable the staff was about every game we played. My son loved the D&D dice on the retail area. Still, it's a fantastic shop to find small toys, gifts and stocking stuffers for the littles. Everything from books and games, puzzles, stuffed animals, blocks and bricks, rubber figurines, finger puppets, fidgets, dice, gag gifts and, yes, true to its name, lots of wooden toys in various forms and functions. Need a rubber band gun, or a prop plane powered by a similar elastic engine? This is your place. As someone who has recently become a father for the first time (and maybe this is the curmudgeon in me talking), but toys that provide hands-on, analog stimulation are far more enriching and engaging that the endless, mindless crap spit out by the algorithms behind YouTube and TikTok. The Wood Shop is the kind of store that specializes in the types of toys that were popular before smartphones became the ubiquitous child distraction devices that they are today. My son and I stopped for coffee, not realizing what a "find" the antique store is. Believe me, at my age (mid-seventies) I've been in hundreds of antique stores, most of which border on being 2nd-hand shops or glorified flea-markets. Not so, Antique Mall in Cashmere! This is the best cross-section of Americana I've ever seen. It claims to be 15,000 square feet of antiques and it is every bit of that and more! Here's what they've done right: 1) There's no flea-market junk. Everything displayed qualifies as a keep-sake. 2) Each item is displayed with respect on it's own foot-print of space, not crowded against or stacked on top of another. 3) Prices are clearly marked and designated as "each", or "per set", or the number of pieces. 4) Most items are clean and well lighted--appear showcase ready! 5) Multiple rooms or nooks are theme-related, so if you're interested in tools, or magazines, or German mugs, or fishing gear, or tableware, or vintage signage--there's a section for you! 6) Several salespeople are readily available to help you find what you're interested in. 7) The coffee shop on site, and spacious restrooms can make this store a whole day event. There really is that much to see. If you live on the coast and are "into" antique hunting, the 2-1/2 hour drive from Seattle is worth the trip just to see this store.
