Traveling from Ohio to Arkansas for a work trip. My co -workers recommended dining at Wright Barbecue. What a pleasant surprise and delightful. The staff at this place were super friendly. You know this a good lunch spot when people were waiting in a line outside the restaurant. The dining inside only seats about 20 people but this place welcomes all. They made a heated make shift tent outside with rows of picnic tables on gravel. It was the best lunch brisket I ever had in a long time. The brisket was cooked and seasoned to perfection. It was served on butcher paper with two side which I chose green beans and coleslaw. Several of us ordered double brisket with coleslaw and beans. You can choose Mac and cheese as well. The chocolate chip cookie was grandma style was warm and gooey. If dining in Johnson outskirts of Bentonville, AR I highly recommend dining at Wright Barbecue. I'm not a huge barbecue person, but after hearing great things about Wright's when it was a food truck, I knew I needed to check it out and I eventually did this past weekend. Let me tell you.... I'm a barbecue person now, as long as it is Wright's! Seriously it was so good. It's in a renovated house, with some seating inside, but a lot more outside. The parking lot is dirt/gravel with a good amount of parking space available. You get in line and place your order down the line. It moved relatively quickly for us... we arrived around 545/6ish on a Saturday. We lucked out and got a table inside in the back. Every table has three different sauces. I tried the sweeter sauce and loved it. The customer service was great as well. I ordered the brisket on a bun with chips... it was so good! My husband got the Texas Trio(?), with the jalapeño sausage, brisket and bacon. It originally included ribs, but they didn't have any ready at the time so they gave him the thick style bacon. I tried all the meat he had and it was delicious. All of their meat is so flavorful. Our kids are under 6 years old, so they both got free meals - awesome! The free kids meals for those 6 and under are perfect portions too. The kids meal includes one meat and one side. Every meal includes a free mini cookie too. We also ordered the coconut cream pie, which was also delicious. My tummy was very happy! read more

Smoked sausage w/cheese, pulled pork sandwich, sides (potato salad & mac 'n cheese), and the brisket with great bark....so good. Look no further. Inside & outdoor seating with a great band playing this particular evening. If you elect to sit outdoors, picnic tables & outside bar await. Interior is like a great hole-in-the-wall. Very, very good. Had the two meat platter chicken and brisket. As sides the Mac n cheese and the coleslaw. Very good too. Been to Austin many times and tried the bbq there. This one compares with the best. This was my 1st time and I loved it. This business is in an old house, I mean old but the place exudes honesty and simplicity. I will be back again and I will bring friends. There is a large, simple patio where they play music. You should give them a try. There is a line but that is what happens when the food is good. DELICIOUS. Just want to say that right off the bat. They are doing Drive through only right now but they have it down pat and it runs wells. The ribs were perfectly cooked. Tender and juicy but not over cooked. They give you a side sauce with the ribs, which is really good, really good, but the ribs don't need it. The beans were terrific. Wasn't a fan of the coleslaw but hey I loved those beans! We will be back soon. read more

After our looooong flight, between three airports and nothing being open...we found this fabulous restaurant once we landed and started the hunt for food. Being from Memphis literally almost every place that locals say has "good" food has disappointed me. Not this place. Get the rocketman with mac and cheese, that's what I recommend. Though it's a bowl with everything together (rather than a dish with a side of M&C), it's still really good, even if you don't ask them to separate everything. I also add pickled jalapeños to make it even more spectacular. Also, definitely get the Spicy BBQ sauce. It's moreso zippy than spicy, but the bold is also good if you really can't handle spice. It's no contest to the sweet heat of the Spicy, but to each their own. I just wish the dish didn't come with burnt bacon ends (?); it's definitely not worth eating, in my opinion, but I also don't like fattier cuts of meat. Good flavor though. read more

My husband and I grabbed takeout tonight. This is how Wright's shaped up for us: Service was exceptional. They are currently only drive-thru service. There was a line, but they have a process in place that is efficient. We ordered quickly and we got our food fast. Employees were energetic and helpful! 5 stars! Meat flavor was good. It was also cooked properly. It was really greasy though. We ate 3 kinds of meat - sausage, brisket and ribs, and all were greasier than expected. I got a salad and the brisket coated the lettuce with grease. 4 stars. The value is less than what we expected. We ordered the Texas Trinity which cost $20. It came with one thin slice of brisket, 2 ribs and a sausage link. Compared to other BBQ restaurants we have dined at, this did not seem like a good value. My salad had as much meat on it, as what came with the Texas Trinity. 2 stars. Maybe we hit them on a bad night. We will try it again after their remodel is completed and see if it is better. read more

I'm a Texan, so I'm pretty snobby about BBQ. So far, nothing in Arkansas has done it for me. Wright's is a game changer! You pull up into a gravel parking lot and walk up the stairs of a White House. There's a large patio area with string lights and benches- looked cute, but too cold to sit outside. There was no line when we walked in. You order at the counter and get your food right away- similar to the way chipotle is. There's a large menu hanging on the wall. There are two tables with benches right past the ordering area, but there is more seating past the soda fountain, which we didn't know about! We ordered a 1/4 rack of ribs (3 ribs) which was about $8 and a brisket plate, which came with two sides ($12). Both entrees came with a little chocolate chip cookie (YUM). I expected the plate to have a little more brisket on it.. there were two strips, which was the most disappointing part. 2 strips of meat?! Come on. The ribs were phenomenal- perfect crust on the outside, juicy and didn't completely fall off the bone! The potato salad was the best side we tried- not mustard based, which is a big win in my books. It was creamy and had shredded cheese in it, because YEAH, who doesn't love cheese. The Mac n cheese was average- wouldn't order again. It just wasn't warm and gooey like you expect from Mac n cheese. Brisket was good- nice crispy outside with a peppery crust. It a little tougher than I usually like but the best I've had in AR. Again portion was way too small. The highlight of Wright's was it's sauces! 3 sauces- Spicy, Bold, Saucy. Spicy was our favorite- heat packed with a touch of sweet. All three had so much flavor and texture, which I was surprised about. Loved Wright's and will be back for a full rack of ribs (for myself)! read more

If you ever come near this place do yourself a favor and try it, especially if you love good BBQ! This place is nestled back out of the way, however, definitely worth the time. If you plan on going during lunch, prepare for a little wait. The line moves fairly quick and you'll be eating in no time. I ordered the Rocketman, which is brisket, bacon burnt ends (I'll come back to this in a moment), mashed potatoes and home-made macaroni and cheese (extra cost, $1). They'll also add toppings like cheese, pickles, jalapenos, onions at no extra cost. Ok, back to the bacon burnt ends, folks, these are cube-size pieces of pork belly, slowly smoked to perfection. A serving of 1/4 lb. cost $7.49, worth every penny. They offer meat by the pound: brisket, chicken, etc. and half and full racks of ribs. The owner walked around asking how everything was, very nice man. Do yourself a favor and visit this place, if ever in this neck of the woods. read more
