We first went here for their Sunday brunch, which was excellent. They have several Benedict options, and their breakfast tacos are great. We went back a few days later to try their barbecue. We had their barbecue sampler, which is a great value, and was plenty for my wife and me to share. It came with some garlic toast, and a selection of sauces. My only complaint, and it's a minor one, was that their pickled onions weren't pickled enough; they were a bit dry, and still had a fairly strong onion flavor. (I took thrm home and used my own recipe to finish them up, and I'll be taking them back for them to try.) The atmosphere is casual, and the service was friendly and helpful both times. We were on our way to the airport and had some time to kill so we visited Rogers for some brunch. When we saw OZ Smokehouse had a lot of good gluten-free options we decided this was the place we had to be. The service was the peak of Southern Hospitality. Everyone was super kind and they were super knowledgeable about cross-contact and other issues. As far as the food goes, I absolutely loved my huevos rancheros. Visited on a Friday evening and had a very attentive server. I had one of their smoked chicken tacos with a side of charro beans with pulled pork. Both were very favorable and good. I have been here a couple of times when they first opened and didn't have the best experience so I wanted to give it another try. I like to order a platter with a couple of meats and sides, a standard order at most bbq places but not offered here. You order meat by the pound + sides and I didn't want to order that much meat so went with the pulled pork sandwich and potato salad. The meat was cooked well, not as much as I would have liked, especially for the price. The sauce was a little odd to me, but ok. The potato salad was very good. We have been to Oz Smokehouse more than any other restaurant in Rogers. We love their regular food, I love to get the barbecue nachos when we go for dinner, but we are obsessed with their Sunday brunch menu. I love their Hangover breakfast bowl, or the Arkansas Sunrise - my son loves the strawberry shortcake French toast and the bananas foster French toast will make you cry it's so sinfully delicious. First and foremost, we were on vacation and looking for somewhere to eat not far from the Daisy Air Rifle Muesuem, and Oz is literally right up the street, when we walked through the door we were met with hearty hellos and welcome in, and that's not always the case when a group of twelve walks through a door, but our waitress Kelly P, and the bartender (didn't get his name), could not have been more inviting, or friendly. So staff = the first star and a half. The ambiance, I know Oz hasn't been open for a long time as far as the building is concerned, but you can feel the history in the building. Felt like somewhere along the way a speakeasy may have called it home or an Italian mom and pop shop trying to get a foot hold in the area may have graced the two story space, but no matter what, you could feel it had a history, and the fact that Oz has preserved that feeling = the second star and a half. The food, I had a good ole fashioned brisket sammich, my wife had the brisket nachos, and my two clones had three mojo mango tacos and then the three meat sammich. The brisket sammich was pretty dang good, right there with some of the really good BBQ I like back home, I didnt cry when I took my first bite, but I slightly nodded and made an mhmm noise. My wife loved the nachos and how they were light but filling, clone one melted his mouth with the MOJO Mango tacos, but he that kid loves heat, so he thoroughly enjoyed them, and clone 2 couldnt stop talking about how good the pulled pork was in the triple threat. It doesn't make my top 10, but it lands solid in the top twenty. So the food = the last star. Last but not least, the pricing, if you go into a smoke house, and order brisket and expect to pay Arby's prices, then maybe you dont deserve good brisket. Because you're not paying for just meat, you're paying a pitmaster for the value of his craft, so 15$ for a brisket sammich I can fathom. Where Oz lost me a little were the sides and drinks, 5 dollars for french fries, while good, was not an equal value in amount of fries to dollar ratio, and 3.50 per drink for founatin drinks, we spent as much for drinks as we did the plate of nachos. It feels like when you buy a car, you don't mind paying for the vehicle, but the dealer upcharges seem to be more like they are to get a few extra bucks. With that and the fact that Oz only made the top 20 of my BBQ list I landed on four stars. Would I recommend it as a place to eat, hell yeah, just get water and maybe split a side. read more

Y'AAALLLL... We made a very random stop in Rogers on Sunday and wondered into Oz Smokehouse. It was close to the end of brunch so the restaurant was relatively empty, but that didn't stop the amazing service from sweet Adrian and the brilliant food! We had the Avocado Sprout Benny, tacos and a 1/2 pound of pulled pork. Not a speck of food was left on our plates! Plate presentation was beautiful and everything was delicious and made in house! We were in the area and stopped in for dinner. First off the place smells like the name applies; there was also a smoky haze in the room. Our waitress was NickyAnn and she was absolutely fantastic. Super kind and very on top of things. We had the fried pickles plus the Gringo Loco, Brick street and Birria tacos. The pickles and the Birria tacos were delicious. The Gringo was just so-so with not a lot of flavor. But the the Brick Street taco was amazing. Seriously delicious when it shouldn't at all work together lol. Went there with the wife for lunch on Friday. We ordered the Rueben sandwich, Barbacoa tacos, and queso with chips. Let's just say for what we paid, it was underwhelming........ For starters, the restaurant does not have salt and pepper on the tables. Personal pet peeve of mine and a statement of chef arrogance that, "My seasoning is perfect and you do not need salt or pepper," but let's continue. For a restaurant that was not crowded (about 10 total customers max), ticket time was dreadful. Chips were soaking in oil and undercooked (literally, a raw tortilla in some instances). Tacos were interesting......beef was fantastic, but the bell peppers on them gave it a strange flavor. The Reuben was a hot mess......you could not pick up the darned thing, and it had to be eaten with a knife and fork. Worst off with it was some bizarre lingering sweet undertone taste.....every Reuben I have ever enjoyed has more of a bitter or tart flavor. Oh, and while we are at it......napkins, or lack of. We were given the standard silverware-rolled-in-napkin pack, but with the utter mess of the tacos and sandwich, definitely needed more. For a $14 sandwich that was as messy as it was, I would have expected some napkins to have been dropped at the table when the food was brought out. I love old buildings, and this one has been around for a long time. Although it's been many things over the years they have kept some of the old charm. Best thing they changed was adding big windows up front that open and let the autumn breeze in. I wasn't overly impressed by the menu, with only sandwiches or tacos (and some appetizers). Since it's pretty new, maybe they'll add a bbq meat plate sometime. Service was great. Fast and friendly. Would like more options for food though. Brisket had good flavor as did the pulled pork, though I've had more tender, it was good. Everything came on the side but all deserved to be on the sandwich. We made our first visit to Oz Smokehouse. I ordered the beef brisket AuJus sandwich with mac & cheese. The flavor of the brisket was fabulous, and dipped in the AuJus made it a 12 out of 10. It was that good. the Mac n cheese was creamy and delicious. We loved the ambience of the whole place. Also the food arrived hot. You know how hard it is to get a good hot meal?? It's hard!
