Overall, the initial interaction with the shop was fine and they were responsive. My car was towed…read moreto the shop after my alternator went out about a mile down the road. While not the typical place I go to, I had used this shop a few years prior to get new tires put on. I called ahead that my car was being towed to the shop and would like a diagnostics check. They replaced my battery to be able to do the diagnostics, which I approved. Once the diagnostics came back, it confirmed the bad alternator, and a few other things. I declined any further work on the vehicle and had it towed by my Dad out of the shop on 5/23 until I decided what work I wanted done on it. I was out of town for work but was able to inspect my car on 5/25 w hen I returned. Upon looking at my car, I noticed that my battery cover was missing but the new battery, put in by the shop, was there. I called the shop and got through to speaking to someone on 5/27 to ask about my battery cover being missing. They let me know they would go check for it and call me back in a few minutes. They never called back so I called the next day on 5/28. The customer service agent told me they were busy with another customer and that someone would call me back within the hour. It's now 5/29 and no one has called me back and it's looking like they lost and/or choosing to not rectify their mistake. I didn't expect them to reinstall the cover, even though it was their mistake. I just wanted it back and would install it myself. I would avoid going here simply for the fact that them choosing to not return calls or even be honest about the situation (Ex. "We lost your battery cover" or "We forgot to reinstall your battery cover").

They found a spike in the (nearly brand-new) tire and quoted me $150 for a new tire. I asked if they could patch it. They said size and placement of the spike made them unable to. I had them put the tire back on as-is, and took it to Mike. It was 15 minutes to close, and he still happily took a look at the tire. There was a spike, but his technicians said not only could they patch it, it was a standard, easy patch. I walked out 25 minutes later (his staff happily working past closing time) having only paid $10 for the patch. Every encounter I've had with Kress Tire has been pleasant, quick, and cheaper than elsewhere, with superior service. I heartily recommend them. Edited 10/2015 - Over a year later, and that same tire is still rolling. So glad I didn't get suckered into buying a brand new tire from North Hills Toyota.
