Tuna ceviche
Jacqueline C.

We were walking along Carnaby street when my friend was craving oysters. We decided to come to Wright Brothers which is located on the ground floor of Kingly Court and has outdoor seating. We got a half dozen variety with some prawn cocktails. All the oysters and prawns were fresh and yummy! We also got the tuna ceviche to follow. This was good too but not the best I've had. We also ordered some hot food to share - soft shell crab and fries. After trying everything, I can say the oysters and prawn cocktails were the winners. I highly recommend trying the raw seafood here. We also found out that they do £1 oysters for happy hour every day from 3-6PM so I'll definitely be back for happy hour!

Seafood plater

Came here for dinner on my recent trip to London. It was one of the highlighted meals of this trip. Remember when I went to Paris several years ago after graduate school, I didn't spurge on the seafood plater deluxe that time. So I didn't ended up trying the French crab (aka brown crab). With much regrets I was determined to get this brown crab baby into our stomach this time around. There are a few Wright brothers in London, not every location offers this plater. For instance, the one at the borough market doesn't. Tip* you have to make a reservation and leave a phone number so they can call you. If you are like me... didn't have a local phone that they can reach you, leave the number of your hotel, or promise to show up on time and actually show up on time. I wanted to thank the manager - Danny. He was very nice and helpful to us. Without this help we won't be able to get a table for two on Saturday night-- booking the night before. Thank you! We came here for the seafood -- the seafood deluxe was our target. Everything was soooo yummy. The tiny snails, tiny sweet shrimps that you don't have to peel, oysters, clams, mussels, LANGOUSTINE, and THE BROWN CRAB. It was messy to eat it but it was so worth it. First of all for the price -- it was a no brainer. I've never seen a seafood plater this affordable in NYC. I am sure you can get this if you are willing to pay a lot for it. Boy, I can eat the crab all by myself and die happy. Too bad I can't eat another one because I would if I could put down more food. We also ordered a bunch of other stuff. They were good but since I was so full after the seafood plater, they weren't as memorable to me. I think we got sushi/sashimi with ponzu, grilled Argentinian prawns, and beet root salad. If I were to stay for one more day, I would go back again for the crab. The one star was taken out because our waitress was not attentive. We had to flag her down and waited for her for a long time to fill our water glasses.

Tip: Go during Oyster Happy Hour, when select oysters are £1. Got 2 dozen Lindisfarne, which were some of the best I have ever had. They are quite meaty and not too brine-y, which is just the way I like them. They are served with small diced onions in vinegar and lemon wedges as well as Tabasco sauce. We also got a House Platter, which we asked for without oysters, so it came with whelks, mussels, clams, and shell-on prawns. The clams were too salty for my taste, but the the rest of the selection was amazing. The platter was served with some mayo-based sauce and a lemon wedge. As recommended by our waiter, we also got a few small plates to share to complement our raw bar selection. The yellowfin tuna takaki was too thinly sliced for my taste, and the tempura fried rye bay squid was a bit doughy although very well fried. Service was great, especially since we went early and were situated conveniently by their convergence point. While the meal did make a non-trivial hole in the wallet, I thought it was reasonable given the location and quality of food. Will definitely return once my bank account recovers!

Went for lunch, and had a good experience overall. We had oysters for starter, then I had a king prawn for my main. The oysters were fresh, though slightly overpriced. After the meal, we were told that they do oyster happy hours 3-5pm every day for £1 per oyster, so try to aim for that. My king prawn was good, though also overpriced for the quantity, I would say. Service was generally good and prompt. We sat outdoors as it was a sunny day and really enjoyed the experience. Would recommend it if the weather permits. All in all, a great seafood place, but do be warned about the prices!

lovly oysters especilly cumbrae from scotland
Stock C.

very nice oyster especially cumbrae from scotland. 33gbp is a valuable price. We can test 6 kind of oysters once. That's great. And everybody should try beef kikita as well. A kind of beef with blood, but it's fabulous.

Tuna tartar

Attractive design and atmosphere. Great choice of fresh seafood courses. Good choice of Wines and cocktails. I've tried oysters and they were great, even that I never liked oysters before. Tuna tartar wasnt really good, it didnt taste like a Tuna at all.

Delicious!

We've been here a few times and the food has been consistently superb! The seafood is fresh tasting and delicious! On a recent dinner, we ordered the house platter and enjoyed every piece of morsel! Even the ones we've never had before! Then we were approached by a very nice gentleman and offered to share the scallop dish, fantastic! And as it turns out, he is the owner and checking out the food and service! Thanks Ben! We will be back!

30 oysters and £1 each!

The happy hour is actually quite nice. We ordered 30 oysters at £1 each. Very good value! The oysters are fresh and sweet. Just perfect for the happy hour. Everyday before 6pm. £1 oyster! As we ordered a bottle of Rosé, we wanted to try more food as we need to finish the bottle (well well well...) Then the reason of the 2 stars came up... One of their staff was VERY RUDE when taking orders. She's white, blonde with huge eyes, I don't know her name cause they don't wear name tags. She didn't even pay attention when I'm ordering, cause I'm only ordering one extra dish. Then, of course, the wrong thing came up and I told her colleagues. She was very rude and claimed that she did not make any mistake in taking the order loudly, and claimed that I gave the wrong order. Well. So. Why would I order something I don't even eat? She then came back to me and reconfirm the order twice, to be honest, I don't feel comfortable with her intonations and facial expressions, that seems like I blamed her of something I was wrong about, when she's the one making mistakes and paying attention during work. I seldom give out low grades but that's why I'm giving the low low low grade for this wonderful restaurant. I would love to give a 5 stars, but her staff really disappointed me so much.

FRESH SEAFOOD!! Their seafood are fresh and delicious. The customer services were amazing. The place is very small but nice. I ordered many different raw oysters, mussels, clams and also steamed mussels and they were all very fresh. Seafood lovers MUST GO!!!

Oyster happy hour!
Richard L.

I came for a half dozen oysters at happy hour... Oyster happy hour is 3pm-6pm daily, oysters are £1 each. I sat outside facing the communal seating area inside Kingly Court. Oysters were tasty, but the abductor muscles had been left attached so some butchery was necessary to free the little buggers from their shells. Simple dressings of fresh lemon and mignonette were plentiful. House wine was crisp and quaffable, a perfect accompaniment to the oysters. Service was attentive and friendly.

With all the people in the courtyard and the restaurant, it's gotta be great, right?! Disappointment at best, unfortunately. Was not able to reserve a table online but showed up and walked right in. Ordered a table full of the signature dishes and proceeded to completely shattered the "never a bad meal in London" streak. The house seafood platter was filled with fresh, yet tasteless crustaceans. The sauces were bland and tasted off the shelf. Large langoustines were high in quality but lacked any taste. Mussels were mediocre and the octopus was chewy and also bland. When the best parts of the meal were the beer, the grilled asparagus, and the fries (which were excellent by the way), there are probably room for improvement. Service was rushed and mediocre like the food. Just goes to show, not every restaurant is up to par in SOHO regardless of appearances.

I went in 2 different times: saturday at 3pm and wednesday at 10am. Two completely different vibes. I was a bit scared to get this since i was by myself but let me tell you, it was not heavy as i expected it to be. Just delicious overall and would totally recommend. Chocolate strawberries: I love strawberries and chocolate but definitely think you can find cheaper alternatives anywhere in london. Bread Ahead: my new favorite pastry place. I pretty much got a donut from this place (not this location) everyday because the black currant cheesecake donut was that good. I got the tiramisu and crème brûlée donut which my brother liked and i wish i could've tasted them before they went bad but anyways, I would totally recommend the donuts from here! Their chocolate chips cookies are HUGE and delicious as well. This was probably one of my favorite markets!

I had…read moreread about this restaurant in some top 10 lists for foodies visiting London and was dying to check it out. First, it's not in the busy part of London where you would expect a restaurant of this caliber to be but rather it is in a very blue-collar neighborhood on the south side of London. It is a VERY cozy place with only seven tables but that is how they keep the quality and experience so great. The decor is as if you are on an old fishing ship. Reservations are highly recommended but we got there right when they opened (7pm) and thankfully they let us have a table. After being seated the hostess showed us the days specials and they ranged from fantastic scallops to lobster with every choice as good as the last. My wife and I chose the Chef's Choice 8 course dinner. The dinner comprised of a delicious sardine sandwich followed by a fillet of night perch which was then followed by lobster that melted in your mouth. Then we had a pallet cleanser of a light peach sorbet with a shot of vodka poured over it. The meal resumed with a grilled piece of pork belly (I got the "meat" choice) while my wife had a grilled hallibut (she got the "fish" choice). The next course was a warmed cheese (I believe it was gruyere) in pastry accompanied by a small mixed green salad with aged balsamic. The dessert courses were a delicious crepe with creme bruille filling and the end course was a pear puree along with a chocolate pudding with a hint of mint. We loved this place even though the name sort of threw us off at first. When you hear "The Lobster Pot" I imagine a bunch of seniors getting off a day-tour bus to a casino at a truck stop or something but this experience was far from what I first imagined. I would highly recommend spending some of your tourist dollars here at this restaurant.

A delightfully decorative place complete with seagulls singing sea shanty classics on loop. Terrified but glorious goldfish adorning the cabin window walls, really every maritime detail had been thought of, even staff in cabin costumes, it was as cheesy as the lobster Thermidor. So fun. I loved being bibbed up too, I like knowing things are gonna get messy. The Meli, a melee of seafood; half lobster, sea bass, spicy grilled perch, razor clam (touch over done), squid kebab (could've been flavoured more) but all in a sea of buttery champagne and avruga sauce. No tide could hold me back from wanting to lick my plate or use this as a moisturiser, oh my golly so delicious. It came served with enough perfectly cooked veg that my mother would approve of too. Soft butter, less surprise from the proprietor at our arrival and this place would have had a perfect score. Overall our waitress was lovely and the food was really darn good.
