Cheese Souffler
Dina E.

Loved the classic ambiance with heavy dark wood tables and chairs, low ceilings, and elegance reminiscent of a hidden away upscale steakhouse where you'd fine the likes of Frank Sinatra and crew. The menu offered classic steak, seafood and pasta entrées, and also offered a few surprises such as the cheese soufflé, which was a favorite shared starter. The service was a little slow, we waited about 25 minutes for our lunch entrées; however, the servers were friendly. Although the prices were slightly elevated,, the quality of the food and old school classy ambiance made it worth the visit and I would definitely return in tue future!

Scallops
A W.

It was a good meal. I should start with that. I'm sorry to say that I was underwhelmed. And I'm also sorry to say that I suspect it made me sick later. But I have to take some responsibility for that because I don't usually eat really greasy food and when it was served that way, I should've exhibited more self-control and just eaten only a portion of it. Now, the details. The scallop starter was excessively greasy, swimming in what was likely a combination of bacon and butter fats. They were served on their shell. In addition to swimming in rendered fats, there was a breadcrumb sprinkling that absorbed the grease and there were bacon bits. They were not over-cooked and so they were certainly good-- but they should have been wonderful and much less heavy. The sole was cooked correctly (by which I mean not over-cooked), but surprisingly, the sole was not de-boned table side and was also not successfully de-boned. There were plenty of bones left--and not only tiny ones. The brussels sprout side was good but there was no decipherable evidence of toasted chestnut, which is why I felt compelled to order it. The creamed spinach side was absolutely as good as that dish gets. No agar or other thickening agent shortcut and absolutely no water in the plate. It was just perfectly seasoned and prepared creamed spinach. Finally, although the hostesses were warm and welcoming and the server was friendly enough, I was really surprised and disappointed at the quality of the service. I say this, not only as a former server, but as a former server who worked in a fish restaurant. The server seemed to be someone who just as easily could have been found working in a coffee shop. The server didn't really seem to have any more knowledge of the product she was bringing to the table than someone would have who doesn't have any special training or knowledge. And so I'm sorry to say, but the impression that I had was that she didn't, in fact, make much of an effort to learn about the product she was serving. This was also really disappointing at that level of establishment. I don't live in London, so I am left to conclude. It's a sign of the times and a reflection of the employment market. I wouldn't say I would never return to the restaurant, but given all of the other choices in London, it's not likely I will.

Bread delicious and gone.

Never fails to please! Food was on point and service is excellent. Reservations are recommended. We were sat right away and the great service continued.

Tempura shrimp

What a wonderful meal and excellent service. For appetizers, we ordered 6 jersey oysters, shrimp tempura, and scallops. The oysters were large and fresh, perfect. The tempura shrimp were less than exciting - a little bland. But, the scallops!!! I wish I had a dozen of those. Some of the best I've had in my life. He had the Roast Mixed Shellfish, which was fantastic. And, my hubby even let me have one of his yummy scallops!! I had the lobster Thermador, which was tasty. Our sides were the mash and tomatoes. Both lovely. Our drinks were spot on but everything about service was perfect. A fabulous meal in the heart of everything.

J Sheekey was most definitely the highlight meal of my recent trip to London. It is the restaurant I was least looking forward to visiting, but the proximity to the theatre district and show we were seeing (Tina, The Musical .... which I HIGHLY recommend!), it just made sense. From the moment we stepped in not only did the hostess ask if we were seeing a show, but took interest in asking 'what' show (I noticed that this wasn't exclusive to us, as she asked people ahead of us as well). It's a little touch that in some instances may go unnoticed, but for me, it is just that little extra warmth you receive throughout London. We were seated toward the front of the restaurant in a very comfortable banquet with plenty of space between tables (one side banquet, one side a chair). The restaurant itself is just old-school beautiful. Service was impeccable and fast (to ensure there was plenty of time to make the show), but not so fast that you feel rushed. It is as if you know you're in good hands. Ordered a bunch of smaller dishes off the a la carte menu including - - Oysters. I didn't taste any but my niece said they were among the best she had during our trip. The finger bowl they put along side the Oysters and mussels are a very nice touch. - Tuna Tartare. I wish I had taken more time to ensure the lighting was optimal for my photos because this dish was not only beautifully presented (the edible flowers on top were a lovely touch), but it was possibly the best tuna tartare I've ever had (and tuna tartare is my go-to appetizer whenever I'm dining out). - Wild Mushroom Risotto. My order was the smaller portion, which was quite generous. It has just a touch of black truffle which sometimes can be overwhelming. But J Sheeky got it just right. I'd have a difficult time not ordering this again. It was absolutely delicious. - Steamed Shetland Mussels. A little chili, red miso, and lime broth. My niece loved it. - Creamed Spinach. And good creamed spinach, at that. - We finished with the Welsh Rarebit and a cheese plate. It was my first time having Welsh Rarebit, and I have to admit to being confused when they put the bottle of Worcester on the table. I wasn't sure what to expect with the Welsh Rarebit. I was thinking cheese toast, but it is really much more complex than that, and I'll admit that I have since gone down a rabbit hole (pun intended) reading about it. Definitely going to give it a try on my own. As for the cheese plate, it was a lovely combination of Montgomery Cheddar, Sinodun Hill and Cashel Blue. I was lucky enough to stumble upon the Neal's Yard Dairy (home of the Sinodun Hill) when I visited Borough Market. There are several places where I live where I have access to some of the Dairy's Cheese, and they'll be moved into regular rotation on my cheese plates! 3 glasses of wine and a coffee brought the total bill to $242.49. It was well worth that price and J Sheekey will be on my must-visit list next time I'm back in London.

Grilled platter

I do not know quite what to put on this review. I liked J. Sheekey OK but would I probably go again probably not. The food was good and the service was OK but I just wasn't sure what to get. I got food and it tasted OK it's just I wasn't thrilled. My friend got the grilled platter and I got the Seabass. My Seabass was cooked OK and there was flavor the potatoes were OK I just wasn't thrilled. I got the soup and there really wasn't anything in the soup it was just the soup more like an emulsion. My drink that I got it was just OK as well. So I'm not saying not to die in here because it was good but I guess I just was left feeling like I wanted more. It was very busy and it was in a part of town that appeared to be like the theater district or some thing. But I would say try it and see it if it's your thing.

Shellfish bisque
Mia W.

The hostess and coat check attendant were both very lively and warm from the moment I arrived. My reservation was for the bar area and several servers attended to me. I started with the shellfish bisque, which was delicious and the portion was very generous. I then ordered pan fried slip sole and mashed potatoes for my entree. Overall everything was prepared nicely and the service was excellent. I will definitely return on my next trip to London.

My 800th review!!!! And 1st-ish of 2026 hehe…read more 4.5 stars rounding down! I thought higher but Fiance thinks lower so we will meet in the middle haha Roasted Duck-- I thought this was tasty and full of flavor, paired well with my noodle soup Crispy Pork Belly-- good and crispy, but Fiance thought it could use more flavor Egg Noodle Soup-- it hit the spot because it was freezing outside lol but i believe it was dry egg noodle vs fresh egg noodle that was used Stir-fry vegetables-- good but also a bit oily House Fried Rice -- Fiance's favorite dish So happy this time around we got to try Four Seasons, go early beause the restaurant will quickly fill up around lunch time!

Decent spot for authentic Chinese food in Chinatown, although nothing particularly stood out to me…read more Roast duck - This is their famous dish, so I of course had to try it out. It was nice that they offered to debone the duck, which is something I don't think I've seen before. The duck was simple yet good. The meat was nice and tender, and the sauce added some moderate flavor. I don't think it was truly that much better than other roast duck that I've had though. Crispy noodles with prawns - This is a classic Cantonese dish that they made pretty well, but still nothing that special. Pork stomach and chicken soup - Personally, I was not a big fan of this dish (mainly because of the pork stomach), maybe because of my more western palate and not due to the quality of the dish. The fact that they offer dishes like this though does show that this is a very authentic restaurant. The restaurant is split into two sides, with Four Seasons on one side and Little Four Seasons on the other (they seem to be basically the same thing though). The interior feels like an ordinary Chinese restaurant with a moderate amount of seating. There can be a moderate wait sometimes depending on the time of day. The staff were attentive and friendly. The service speed was pretty quick. Overall, while the food at Four Seasons is decent and certainly very authentic, it didn't really stand out to me that much (and the prices are slightly higher than I would have expected at 74 GBP for these 3 dishes), so it's more of a 3.5 star place to me.
