I took my car to Wreck Effects after my running board was damaged at a car wash. The repair involved replacing the entire running board and its motor, and Ken, the owner, told me the job would take one day once the parts arrived. I waited until the parts were in before dropping off my car--yet it still sat there for weeks because Ken refused to begin work until the insurance company paid him upfront, which is not standard practice. I had to repeatedly follow up and mediate between him and the insurance company just to get the work started. Ken also pressured me not to give the insurance company "too much information," insisting that I let him "handle things." I was simply trying to be above board, but he seemed determined to control what was communicated. When I finally got my car back, I discovered that he had not replaced the motor at all, even though insurance was charged for both parts and labor. Instead, he handed me the brand-new motor, told me not to mention it to insurance, and falsely claimed I could sell it for over $1,000 (when in reality, it was worth closer to $100). Ken had previously assured me that I could keep my old motor as a spare, since it was still functional and could be used if the other running board motor ever failed. Instead, he just never installed the new motor at all. I never asked to be involved in anything questionable--I just wanted my car repaired properly. On top of that, when I picked up my car, there was a long black mark running down both the driver's side and rear doors, as if the car had rubbed against something. Ken tried to buff it out, but some of the mark remained. After weeks of frustration, I was too exhausted to push back. After my experience, I noticed another review from Michael S. describing nearly identical issues--delays, poor communication, and questionable handling of repairs, which suggests this isn't a one-time problem. The only positive was Shannon, the receptionist, who was kind and professional. Unfortunately, that didn't make up for the delays, dishonesty, and lack of professionalism I experienced. I went in for an estimate and was told that someone would contact me within the next 2 weeks to put me on the schedule. 2 weeks later after not hearing anything I called at 9am and asked what was going on. Shannon I believe her name was said she would call me back, I waited until 3pm and still didn't hear anything so I called back to follow up and I got sent to voicemail. Right after the collision, I looked up a local auto body place and saw the stellar reviews for Wreck Effects, and the things that stood out were "quality", "trust", "caring", so I called in to see if they could take a look at my car. The said they could see the car same day. I headed over and was pleasantly surprised on so many levels. Although they had many other cars and customers, they sure made me feel like I was the only one. They prioritized time with me, my car, and got to know my individual circumstances, and they had patience knowing the insurance process wouldn't be quick. They also gave me practical advice on "the now" since my car was driveable, but not entirely safe, and made sure I understood that along with things like replacing the car seats quickly, or perhaps, not transporting my kids until the car is fixed. They handled everything, even when there were delays with insurance. Nothing slowed down and they still fixed my car, even faster than the time quoted. And how did my car look and operate when done? It was perfect, looked exactly as it did before the accident. They also have an online system that notifies you each step of the way. From the moment you enter their shop you are greeted by a professional staff who convey a genuine passion for what they do - and especially, for offering great customer service. After explaining the problem I encountered at the other auto body shop, they immediately examined my vehicle and offered up a well-priced solution with the understanding that another more expensive remedy may instead be required. My car was ultimately turned over to the expertise of Patrick who is truly a master of his craft. While Patrick was able to repair the damage to my car for the less expensive option, I can honestly say that had the more expensive option been required, I would still be writing this same positive review. This shop will break every promise they make to you, fail to return phone calls and fail to complete repairs then claim that you are at fault. Wreck Effects had my truck for 47 days. In that time, they broke at least three promises to have the work completed by a date certain. When I tried to contact them to find out when I would get my truck, they did not return phone calls. When I finally got in touch, somehow this all became my fault and they yelled at me. With respect to the delays, each time they blamed my insurance company for low balling the estimate (an insurance carrier underestimated the cost of repairs -shocking, I know) and their suppliers could not get them parts. They claim that there have been delays in getting parts since the Covid lockdowns, but Covid lockdowns ended three years ago, so if your part suppliers cannot get their acts together, get another supplier. I had made camping plans relying on their promised dates for completing repairs and had to cancel those trips (my wife's Prius will not tow a camper). I lost the reservation money as a result. The worst part of all this - when I complained about them promising the return of my truck on three separate dates and not delivering, they yelled at me! They said that I had no right to expect them to meet any date for the competition of repairs, despite their express promises to make those dates. When I noted that I had paid for campsite reservations based on the dates they gave me for competition of the repairs of my truck, they said I was being unreasonable and should not have relied on their promises. Of course, once you pick a body shop, you are stuck with them. In my case they had taken off the damaged bits of the trucks body so I could not just drive it off the lot and they would not release the truck until insurance paid them. To get my truck back, I had to resort to threatening complaints and small claims actions under the Colorado Motor Vehicle Repair Act. While I got my truck back after paying in full, the work is still not finished and a part is supposedly on back order. I doubt they will keep their promise to finish the repair since they broke every other promise they made to me. If you go to them your vehicle will be sucked into a black hole, never to return without the threat of small claims lawsuits. Avoid them at all costs. read more

I would never go anywhere else. Family owned, and everyone is always happy when I go there. They had repaired my car last summer and put it back together after I had been back ended. They do beautiful work! I had gone to the holiday drive-in movie at Red Rocks last week and my headlights would not go out no matter what I did, my battery ended up going dead, and the battery was only 10 months old, so I wanted to get the electrical checked but didn't know where to start. Wreck Effects had sent me a blanket customer email saying that they wanted their customers to be happy and offering free advice, so I thought I would start with them on the electrical issue so that if it was a short they could help me to find it. Three of them looked at my car together, read the manual, troubleshot it, and they finally discovered a programming option on the console to turn off the driving lights. I had thought the electrical system was having problems and it turned out to be a programming feature that I did not know about, and would not have found without their help. Wreck Effects is awesome! They do awesome work, the service is over the top great, and they have a wonderful atmosphere where everyone is always happy and enjoys what they do! You always hope that you are not going to be in an accident or have anything bad happen to your car, but Wreck Effects takes a personal interest in all of their customers, and I would not go anywhere else! read more

My Lexus just came out of the shop after extensive damage. The car was considered totaled but I elected to fix it vs buying another car. I chose this path because of Ken/Shannon and staffs treatment of myself and the car. Their approach was straight forward and very honest. My original estimate was within $100 of the final work done on a $12,000 fix. Ken pointed out from the beginning that a 10% margin was required until they took everything apart. I replaced everything with original(OEM) parts. The car came back to me exceeding my expectations. There was a minor mechanical malfunction, perhaps as a result of the accident and it was fixed through a mechanic Wreck Effects uses. If you want an honest answer and just fantastic customer experience stop here. I've used several other shops for other things and they were big and sloppy. I got a door ding while parked at target, felt bad for the family so opted to just pay out of my pocket to get it fixed. Was referred to Wreck Effects to get the dent a scratched repaired. After they examined my 4Runner they told me that they would first try to buff the area out. They did this to save me from replacing the factory paint job. Fortunately they were able to buff the area out, and then told me to go back to the paint less dent repair to get the dent pulled out. Did I mention they refused to charge me for buffing our the scratch! I took my car there today (masked up and all :) ) to look at a scrape on my rear side bumper. Ken came out with his handy paint thinner and rags and cleaned it right off! I thought for sure there was going to be some body work. Even though there is a little damage, it was esthetics only. He was honest and said that it's not worth fixing because the paint might get thinner and not match the factory paint. How great is that? This might be an odd way to write a review about an auto body shop when they have yet to perform any work on my car but the owners from Ken and Shannon to employees such as Patrick and Chloe completely get customer service. A friend of mine is a perfection maniac and loves these people for their, 1. Attention to detail on several of his cars(hail damage) 2. Customer service, as I said above. I brought a car in I knew would be totaled because of the damage. I brought it in the day of the accident and Ken took the time to give me a ballpark estimate to work with. The very next day he gave me a complete and very detailed estimate. I took that information and have decided to take the salvage money and fix the car. I trust whose fixing my car and the desired outcome vs finding another used car. The details he gave me to help make an informed decision without any B.S. is what we all desire. The estimate was very thorough and concise and they adjusted a damaged body panel so my car was safer to drive until they could get it into the shop.
