Mind-blowing pinot noir. Hard time distinguishing which of four pinots was the best. So good that we made the 40-mile trek back to drink more. Super friendly staff and gorgeous outdoor seating. read more

I love, love, love Santa Lucia Pinots. My second favorite area to go tasting other than NV is by far the less visited area south of Salinas, CA. Wrath was formerly a winery called San Saba, from what I remember made Cab and Merlot based varietals. Well that place is gone and Wrath is in. Their Pinots are exactly what I fancy from this region, and although not a Chardonnay connoisseur I really enjoyed what they are doing here with it. Stop by, I really enjoyed this place. read more

Delicious wines, excellent staff! Very generous with their time and explanations of each varietal of wine so glad we made the trip out here! Will certainly be back for more! read more

Nice wines, but poor customer service! My wife and came to the tasting room and had a very nice time. We hit it off with the tasting room staff (it was our 5 year wedding anniversary) and shared some wine knowledge. We bought 5 bottles of wine and the staff offered to give us a 10% discount. (usually available to wine members) The internet was down so they had to run my CC manually. When I got my bill i realized they forgot to apply the discount. I emailed the winery. Their response was that they only give discounts to wine members. Why would I make this up? The money means little, its just poor service. To make matters worse, I got home and one of the bottles was corked. I would avoid this place. There are better options. read more

This was our 3rd visit to the great River Road wine area (during a 2-night stay in Carmel). Our server Tim was super friendly. We normally prefer an oaky Chardonnay but really enjoyed the very reasonably priced "EX unoaked Chardonnay ($19)" for our picnic lunch. We invested in their excellent Pinot Noir ($39) to take home. It's a fun picnic spot, and wines are great! read more

The best of the Santa Lucia Highlands' wine. Beautiful winery location, friendly staff and fantastic Pinot noir.

Amy, here's to the end of wrath. Stop -3 on the memorial tour. Ok, I get the whole Steinbeck connection but who would want to name a winery or any other business - anger or extreme beligerence? Well, Amy would like it so I'll go along with it today. Loved the rose here, friendly tasting staff and the lovely yet simply landscaped hillside and pond. read more

Horrible experience. We were in earlier in the day and waited 10 minutes for acknowledgement. Left and went to another winery. Returned to Wrath a couple hours later with a. party of twelve to purchase bottle service and they turn us away. They had 5 people in the tasting room. Told us we should have called ahead. Nice way to treat your customer and wine club subscriber. read more

Passing through the area, really enjoyed the Pino's at Wrath. Great talking Paul about the area and other recommendations from our server. A must try if your in the area. read more

Had a wonderful experience. We will definitely be returning. We went just to wine taste we ended up purchasing if you bottles of wine

I can't say enough about this winery. The wines are excellent. If you are a Chardonnay or Pinot Noir connoisseur come here! Their wines are distinctive and tasteful. The big plus - the staff is very knowledgable and friendly. Don't miss! read more

STOP! I don't write many reviews. Whatever you do - don't pass this place up on the SLH loop. This winery has amazing wines.

Had a wonderful experience here. Love that you can bring your own cheese and crackers to snack on while you sample Wrath's delicious wines. Penelope and Alexandra were so awesome - just absolutely lovely. Such a delightful wine-tasting afternoon! read more

LOVE,LOVE,LOVE, did I say LOVE this winery. I am partial to Pinot's and Syrah, so obviously this is a great match for my taste. The variety of styles of Pinot range from light, sweeter, to bold earthy knock your socks off flavors. The favorite for the day of tasting was the Pommard Pinot, the Doctor's Vineyard Syrah, and the award winning San Saba vineyard pinot. Best of all, the tasting room in Carmel Plaza is a lovely place to sit, sip, and in my case journal about life while tasting the wine. Julien was a great host, and kept me entertained with his stories about living on a boat. This is a must try for wine lovers. Wish their prices were a little less, but managed to pick up a bottle for a special evening out with my sweetie. Cheers!! read more

Timo was awesome! We came with a group and he is probably the best we have ever had at any tasting room ever. We came up from Paso Robles and found Wrath by a suggestion from Hahn. The Sauv Blanc is amazing. Very surprising, so many flavors for a white. I might just be my favorite winery up here. Keep it up Timo!! read more

Great wine but horrible experience. Never felt more unwelcome in a tasting room in my life. Sorry we disturbed this woman is life by coming to try the wines here. read more

I'm a new wine person- and let me tell you this place is amazing. I've been to three different t wineries and the atmosphere here is breathtaking. My husband and I enjoyed the 5 samples and brought home some good wines. Can't wait to come back. read more

A beautiful location with a lovely pond and outdoor patio area where you can enjoy your wines. Chris, the tasting room manager talked with me about the history of the winery and the wines - I really like their Pinot Noir. We had a relaxing time looking at the surrounding vineyards and enjoying the sound of water falling into the pond. I bought a couple of bottles and look forward to a return visit! read more

Nice little place to pop in for some good Pinots... Small tasting bar in an open area.. the staff seems to know their wines well so that was a little bonus.. Pricey for the wines in the region but pretty good nonetheless .. read more

This winery is great! It is such a beautiful setting. The staff is friendly and helpful. The wines are very good. I am in love with the 2011 Fermata Chardonnay. I am so sad they are sold out (though completely understand)! I also enjoy a few of the Pinots. If I lived closer I would stop by on a regular basis to enjoy the view and some tasty wine. read more

No idea why this place has 5 stars. It's $10 to taste 3 wines and $20 to taste four (2 of which are on the other menu). Aside from the fact that the place is ridiculously pricey the wine is just not that good at all. It's priced 3x what it tastes. This is one of the only wineries on river road that I consider not worth even the tasting fee of trying their wine. Nice views... Terrible wine... read more

Love the location!!!! So freaken beautiful!!!!!!!!!! The old man with plaid shirt was just to rushing. The lady with the mole on her noise told us it'd be ok if we stay till 6pm. This man was just rushing us, it's only 535pm like chill dude. Soo rude man so freaken sad. read more

Went and saw Ari (never met her before) in the tasting room. We split a flight and bought a bottle of rosè. All the wine was great. The view was breath taking. The conversation was great. We will be back. I work in the industry and would recommend people that come to the winery I work at to come here. Thank you for great service and great wine! read more

I had a wonderful opportunity to organize an event at this lovely winery based in the San Lucia mountain range where members enjoyed a catered lunch with wine tasting. The location off River Road was ideal at the end of a scenic hidden drive where the staff warmly welcomed us in waves and continued to be gracious throughout our stay into the afternoon. We enjoyed 3 tastings: the Pinot Noir Pommard, Syrah and Savignon Blanc as suggested by Chris Whaley who was great in helping me set the event the moment I was in contact with him. Michelle McDaid and Claire Marlin were extraordinary as hosts on the day of the event making us all feel at home in the barrel room for the private event as well as generously offering the tasting room with its gorgeous view of the pond, boat and reeds for those who wanted a further experience at the winery. Prior Yelp reviews with pictures very much helped in selecting this winery locale. Many participants left with purchases in hand, not just a bottle but bottles and boxes! I highly recommend a stop here if planning a visit near Carmel Valley. The grounds, staff and exceptional wines are outstanding. Definitely worth a repeat visit solo, pair, group or event. read more

Went to three wineries on the river road... was not impressed with service, hospitality... wines were good... but enjoyed everything about other wineries... would not go back to Wrath..we are growers and were disappointed. read more

My friend and I stopped in here yesterday. The girls behind the counter were super friendly and knowledgeable. They even let us try a few wines that weren't on the tasting menu yet! Of course we eneded up with several bottles. If you are looking for a winery with a great atmosphere and a knowledgeable staff then look no further because this is the place to be. Their wines are a little on the pricey side, but are definitely worth it! read more

My husband and I tasted WRATH wines in their tasting room in Carmel previously and LOVED their pinots. On a whim we decided to look up their winery as we passed through the area on our way home to Paso Robles today. What a lovely surprise! The tasting room is beautiful with its lounging patio, restful pond and natural landscape. We could have spent all afternoon. The pourers were sweet and knowledgable young women who made us feel at home. But really, it's all about the wines, and they are good! They do produce a white or two, however they are really about the pinots. So many good ones; so hard to choose. All with nice mouth feel and distinct flavors. They also produce a couple of syrahs which are very tasty. We ended up buying several bottles including the San Saba pinot and the San Saba syrah, both estate grown and rich. The tasting fees are high if all you are planning to do is taste, but the wine is so good you should plan to buy and have the fees waved. read more

Wonderful Winery! Lovely relaxing setting and wonderful personnel. The ladies there added to our great experience.

Wrath winery is a must-stop on the wine trail with which the breathtaking scenery of the mountains pairs with your Pinot and Chardonnay tasting. They have a surprising variety of flavor complexes for being a small-batch winery. Nikki thoroughly educated us about the grapes and the process! read more

First, I have to say that Wrath Winery makes outstanding Pinot Noir. I have been a huge fan of this establishment and have recommended their wines to many others (and given more than a few bottles to friends as gifts). We've had wonderful experiences at their tasting room and have found the staff to be knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. So why the two-star review? During the recent Valentine's day weekend, we traveled from San Jose to Soledad with a couple friends for the sole purpose of tasting and buying some Wrath Pinot's. Wrath's website, answering machine message and posted hours, all indicated they would be open for business on Saturday Feb 13th. After making the long trek (the traffic on 101 south was worse than usual) we arrived at the winery right at mid-day to find the driveway roped off and a "closed" sign. We were stunned and assumed maybe this was a temporary situation. We tried calling the winery a few times and eventually reached an employee who explained (rather frankly) that because the winery didn't want to participate in a regional "Valentine's Passport" promotion - where hordes of people descend on local vintners - they had decided to close. Certainly, that is their business decision to make, but considering their remote location and regularly scheduled hours, this change should have been clearly announced and posted far in advance. On the phone, we attempted to convince the employee at the winery to make an exception and let us into the tasting room - even saying that we had planned on buying some bottles - to no avail. Such a huge disappointment and "bad feelings, all around" for a place we've championed so many times before. The wine is superior enough to warrant future consideration, if we happened to be in the area... but I doubt I'd risk another long trip south unless we could be assured the winery honors its stated hours of operation. read more

visited at the end of the day and enjoyed this special winery. Staff was knowledgeable and great to be with. All the wines are processed and stored on-sited and were terrific. Staff at other wineries recommended that we taste at Wrath and glad we stopped there read more

My girlfriend and I visited this place on whim, and we were absolutely floored by the excellent quality of the wines we tasted. The staff was both knowledgable and friendly, entertaining us with conversation while we relaxed with a flight of delicious pinot noir. I cannot give a better recommendation for a local wine or tasting room than this hidden gem. read more
