I had such a great experience here! I stopped by the tasting room while visiting Monterey, and the staff could not have been more welcoming. They found out I had just graduated college and were so kind. The wines themselves were incredible--every pour had something unique to offer, and the person helping me explained the flavors and backgrounds of each one in a way that made it fun and easy to appreciate. You can tell they really enjoy what they do, and it made the whole experience feel special.

Jose's Rose

This is a beautiful winery to visit. The staff is extremely friendly! I started with a flight; after tasting my first wine, I knew that was going to be the one I wanted. I ended up getting a glass of Jose's Rose instead of proceeding with the flight. The outside area is beautiful! You have a fantastic view. You're allowed to walk through the vineyards, which are located in the back area. It wasn't too crowded when we went, which improved our experience. After sipping on the Jose Rose wine l, I decided to purchase a bottle. I'm more than likely going to continue ordering this bottle. The taste is amazing! Soledad wineries tend to be overlooked, but I highly recommend you stop by CRU Winery for a fantastic experience! It's a great spot if you're looking to relax and enjoy wine with friends!

This little hidden gem in Soledad off Arroyo seco rd is such a peaceful winery, Me and my Bf went to enjoy a nice tasting. We where able to try out their holiday wines as well as some of their award winning wines. The day was perfect, the views of the Santa Lucia mountains where breathtaking, it was nice to walk around their vineyard and enjoy their views, We got lucky enough to have live music which Whitney Bee was awesome! We enjoyed it.. What my bf noticed as soon as we arrived to their parking are. (lots of parking space) up was their beautiful CORK TREE!! I mean I think it was pretty awesome that they had it, Made the winery more unique. We enjoyed a nice cheese plate. With some meats and nuts. Thank you Jessica for being so nice attentive and awesome ! And for answering all my bfs wine questions lol :) We loved you're knowledge for wine and we both enjoyed are visit! Will for sure be bac

Ambiance and views are marvelous! Nice off the beaten path stop in wine country. Excellent selection of varietals and the Pinot noir was my favorite. Pet friendly too!!

Never open! Have driven out on a Saturday and on a Sunday about 3 months apart and they are always closed.

This is for Cima Collins's new tasting room in Marina. Suite #6 at the little industrial park in…read moreMarina. The tasting room is relaxed: steel and wood and beautiful art on the walls. When we arrived, the winemaker, Annette Hoff, and her team were just getting some de-stemming what looked to be Pinot Noir grapes and when we were leaving she was cleaning the de-stemmed. This is where the magic happens. The wine was delicious. Jude, our server was a delight. There was optional table seating just outside. No tasting bar. You sit where you want and the tasting room folks ask what you want and bring the bottle(s) to you. Chill. No fuss. Great wine. Love the hours! Open until 7pm Fridays and Saturdays:) We will most definitely be back.

Which is good if you want to go wine tasting more than once and keep it interesting. My all time favorite were Sinecure Wines which I believe they do small production. I ended up getting 2 bottles. The nice thing about this place is that they have the outdoor sitting, live music and you can buy by the glass. Marina is a chilly town so bring a nice sweater or coat just in case. All in all it was a great experience! I would definitely recommend for a group of friends or maybe a girls night out. It's every Saturday and I've been meaning to stop by for more Sinecure wine, it has such a smooth taste. I don't taste wine the same anymore after having the GSM from Sinecure. The Tempranillo was also very delicious. Oh and there's also a food booth, they sell tri-tip sandwiches, not sure how much they cost or if they were delicious I was busy drinking. (:

Nice folks + solid wine + no crowds = good tasting room experience…read more The wines were generally solid, though none stood out as particular "must haves." It seems like they were going for more delicate flavors in general, which may suit some people more than others. The estate-grown Pinot had an interesting spicy note and the Chardonnay was crisp and flavorful. The Cuvée Louie was a nice Bordeaux-style blend as well. We had the tasting room to ourselves and thus were able to learn a lot about the wines and the vineyard by chatting with the folks there. Very friendly and knowledgeable. Tasting was $20 a person, so prices seem to have gone up since previous Yelp reviews. Worth a stop though, especially if you're already driving down River Rd. between some of the other wineries.

Finding a winery still open at 6 PM, later than most wineries in the area, Mr. B was testing me…read more When I am already crotchety from sugar lows, he has a ticking time bomb on his hands. And he, on the other hand, god forbid he miss a winery on our trip south down the 101. But Manzoni turns out to have been a good stop. The valley and wine trail (aptly named River Road Wine Trail) that parallels a lazy river, offers a beautiful view of the rich agriculture in the area. The east facing vineyards overshadowed by golden Central California hills/mountains, fall colors, rich soil, framed by a peaceful farming community makes it unique and special. The tasting room is unimpressive. The server, friendly. The wine, the 09 syrah, was lovely. There were other wines that did not impress, but they also offered a port that was smooth and went down easily. The syrah came home with us at $28 a bottle. And the only reason we passed on the port was because we already have too much good port stored at home. And in nearby Gonzales, Mr. B took care that his non-wine drinking wife got some excellent sustenance. So all was well with the world again.

The legendary DeRose Winery…read more.. It's all about the Cab Franc! I believe the Cab Franc is what they are known for... and for good reason. The Cab Franc is one of the best I had! The only other local domestic rival I know off that is near as good hails from 3 Steves Winery in Livermore, and they get the grapes form DeRose! So, do yourself a favor and pick up a bottle of the Cab Franc. You won't regret it. The Cab Franc is a 100% Cabernet Franc, not blended. The Vines are pruned in the winter, the Grapes are exposed to sunlight with careful leaf removal and the Clusters are thinned after veraison. Common tasting notes are Berries , dark Stone Fruit, a dash of pepper a subtle hint of roses. Can you tell I like is wine? The vineyard is located on both sides of the San Andreas Fault and wines are part of the old Vaché planting method. DeRose wines are also organically farmed, just not not certified. Oh, can't forget the dry farming as well. The Winery is in the middle of nowhere... It's a journey onto itself to get here. There isn't much else around. There is another winery down the road, but that's about it. Don't be scared to make the trip. They recently opened a Tasting room in San Martin. Can't wait to stop by and do some wine tasting there...

I had never tasted Negrete (French varietal) and absolutely loved it. The other two were good too. My friend and I each bought two bottles to waive the very reasonable $15.00 tasting fee. I will definitely visit again when I am visiting Hollister. I highly recommend you to give De Rose Vineyard, a visit. I am certain you will be glad you did.
