Review for The Bullroom, the back half of the Wrangler bar. First and foremost, the waitstaff and cook did a great job for my parents 50th wedding anniversary this past Saturday. Second, if you decide to use this venue for a party, get your quote, or in our case quotes, in writing with an itemized list.
This establishment does not charge for the use of the venue itself, but you do have to order from their menu, however they do not have a list of items or prices and you will choose those with the bar manager. In our case, we had agreed upon a nacho bar, that was to have a green chili queso sauce that was promised to be amazing, wings, meat balls, meat/cheese tray, buns (to soak up the booze a bit for our guests LOL) veggie tray and fruit tray.
Our first meeting was the last week of September, we were given a rough estimate for the food of "between $1275.00 to $1350.00" and that she would get back to us with an itemized list for the menu and a final price, and at that point we could take items off the list if we decided to. Okay, pretty spendy, but we were willing to work with that. Well that never happened, there were a number of unanswered calls and messages, to both the manager herself and the bar. My parents wanted champagne and apple cider for the toast, on two occasions my brother had taken my mother to the bullroom, to show the manager a specific champagne label that she had agreed to try to find for us. Both times she was present but was in no condition to do any type of business. My siblings and I tried several times to set up an appointment, but like I said calls and messages went unanswered.
The Monday before the party, which now we're several weeks into this, nearing panic mode because invitations and plans are set, however nothing has been agreed upon because we never did see an itemized list for the food. The manger finally got in contact with my sister, with a quote of $2404.00. By Wednesday, three days before the party, I took my mom to the bullroom myself to speak with said manager, because this is beyond outrageous and I've yet to see how she plans on justifying the new cost. According to her, everything had been ordered, including the champagne and apple cider, which we scratched because there were specifics that she had chose not to meet with us on. Other things were scratched as well, because we had budgeted on the original $1350, and it still wasn't enough justification for us to go with the $2404.
The nachos did not have her green chili queso, fine whatever and there were no buns served either! It was beyond disappointing and something that was never resolved, and no mention of price adjustment due to not providing the goods that were agreed upon.
This is now the day of and the staff had said they put out what she had on the list. Needless to say we were not impressed but it was party time and we made the best of it. It wasn't on them, they were great and as helpful as you would expect them to be.
Would I recommend this venue, absolutely not! But this is just a review and this was just our experience. read more
