This morning I noticed the Azaleas in my neighborhood were blooming. I put two and two together and decided to finally make a trip to this popular garden. Wow, what an amazing place, I'm so glad I went! I was pretty bummed that Duke Gardens was closed to the general public this spring due to Covid, but this was a wonderful substitution for some flowery goodness. We arrived around 1 pm, there were a good number of people visiting but the parking was very ample. I had seen a few pictures online of the garden, but I didn't realize how large it would actually be. The garden is filled with many brightly colored Azaleas, so many vibrant flowers to see. I saw a few groups doing family or engagement photos. We even saw a small wedding taking place, what a great backdrop. I took a lot of photos during our visit, but I'd say we spent about 30 minutes there. On the way out, I noticed that a container with maps of the garden. Great spot to take someone on a date or out of town visitors. I plan to come back again next spring and see this lovely spot.

The azaleas are in bloom and WRAL Gardens are very colorful right now. This is a popular time of year to visit and it was busy when I was there but everyone was doing a pretty good job at social distancing and the gardens are large enough to do that. It was about 50/50 as to whether someone was wearing a mask. The gardens may be expanding into another section. It appeared the ground had been prepared for new plantings and there were some containers of new plants. I will return in June to see the hydrangeas and other flowers and plants as it is a nice place to visit and see the changes throughout the year.

This is serene and natural space in the center of Raleigh, right off the NC State campus that provides seating areas and walking paths in a private garden feel, though it is open to the public with lots of parking availability. As we wondered through, enjoying the art, wind chimes, and landscaping, several groups were taking Quinceañera and engagement/pregnancy photos in different spots throughout the garden, yet were not readily visible until we walked within a few feet of them. There is a nice private feel. This was a perfect first day of fall with crisp and sunny breezes. Honeybees lounged at each fountain lip, sipping water and peacefully buzzing nearby. I'm so glad we discovered this gem on our Saturday visit.

If you have some time during your day I definitely think you should check out the beautiful Azalea Gardens! The campus itself looks like where the avengers lived! We saw a helicopter land on the building and that alone had me impressed while I was walking through a beautiful garden. I will say some plants were going through natures cycle and we're not alive but that really just has to do with the time we went. It was very cute and quaint and definitely check it out! I can't wait to return in the spring when flowers are blooming!

What an awesome under the radar spot to check out! Nestled behind the WRAL office building this spot really is a hidden gem. April seems to be peak time so I'd recommend heading on over before the Azalea blooms die off. They have so many different Azalea varietals, I had no idea there were so many! The paths are well maintained and there are plenty of sitting areas as well. The space is small so don't expect to spend a whole day here, but it is great for a quick stroll. I noticed there were also a lot of hydrangeas starting to pop up so I imagine this is still a great place to visit in the Summer. They do a great job at diversifying things and posting little signs letting you know what type each flower is. Parking is easy and plentiful. I saw quite a few people snapping photos here, just take note that they do not allow dogs on the property.

This is one of the most beautiful gardens I have ever been in. Once I stepped onto the path, I felt like I was in Eden. The floral scent that greeted me was heavenly and everywhere I looked I saw lush foliage full of life and color. Even it being full of visitors it was tranquil. The greenery probably muted the sounds. Good amount of parking across the street. The paths are well shaded. I wish we lived closer so I can go here everyday.

But beyond the perks, I've genuinely been blown away by the talent, the sets, the lighting, and the overall production quality. The cast members are phenomenal, and the passion they bring to the stage is palpable. It truly feels like you're witnessing professional-grade theatre in an intimate community space. The experience is super comfortable too; concessions are available at great prices, the bathrooms are always clean, and the venue is accessible for those with vision or hearing needs, which really shows their commitment to being inclusive. Whether you're looking to volunteer or just catch a great show, Raleigh Little Theatre is an absolute gem. 10/10 Highly recommend!

Parking in the Permit lot was fairly easy, however it is a One Way, and you must bring your patience when exiting after the show. Try to find nearby street parking to avoid a traffic jam. I was lucky to score an Orchestra seat front row in A6. The best seat in the house! Plenty of leg room, comfortable and the best view of the stage. I've never sat behind the Orchestra booth, so this was a treat ! This was my first visit to Little Raleigh Theatre and I am very impressed. This production was impeccable. Tia James did a phenomenal job directing. The cast was perfectly tailored to each character and I appreciated that. What a talented cast ! The music was beautiful and the set design blew me away !!! The acting was stellar ! This was in my honest opinion, better than the 2024 Warner Brothers film. By far! I am planning to return again soon. We laughed. We cried. We danced. We sang ! Much thanks to the staff who run a tight ship. Very organized and excellent customer service. I look forward to attending more performances in the near future. I recently discovered that they also offer acting/ vocal / dance classes for adults at any level. I am excited to enroll this fall and I'm happy to hear that they are bringing classes to convenient city park community centers. A dream come true for me to tap back into my talents and childhood interests.

Greg, Haywood Hall's curator, is so helpful and can answer any question you might have about holding your wedding at the location. The grounds are beautiful and the house as the backdrop to the ceremony is unique. We spent about 16 months planning our wedding. Greg has lots of recommendations for outside vendors, as you need to bring everything, from tables and chairs, alcohol, food, cake, etc. in as none of this is provided by the venue. This gives you a lot of flexibility to plan your own wedding, but does require a lot of time and effort. Both the ceremony and reception sites are outdoor, so be wary of that because there is no flexible rain plan. It might not be the great choice for summer or winter, but mid-April through early June and mid-September through mid-November are perfect for holding a wedding. I've seen the springs blooms and we had peak fall colors the first week of November. Just an all-around unique piece of Raleigh that in my opinion is a great place to have your special day.

I love to garden but do not have a designers mind. Her designs have interest year round with beautiful fall colors, winter having enough evergreens to make it look good when everything else is gone and of course spring/summer is gorgeous. If you have existing plants you want to keep, Susan can put those in the plan and integrate them with everything else. Susan is super responsive and has a great, respectful crew for installation. At this house they also installed a drip system to help get the plants settled in. We had a massive swing set in the backyard with gravel under it. They dug the gravel out and brought in amendments - 10 years later it looks wonderful. You won't regret working with Susan!
