Its insulting when you go through the process of ordering something just to have an email the next day, after saying the order has processed, saying that the item is out of stock and they don't know when it is coming back in. Then I emailed them explaining the situation and haven't received a response and it's been 10 days. I ordered white kick plates for my business. No where did it say in the description that they were textured. The material that they were made out of was like cheap shower wall board. Never received an order acknowledgement. 3 months later I received an email that my credit card had been billed. Yes 3 months! I contacted them and told them of my mistake and that I would return immediately which I did. They had them back within 24 hours. They still charged me 25% restocking fee and the shipping. I was charged 2x the going price for window shoes balance. I'm not sure why I was charged $13 for a shipping and handling of a package that with a wt of a few ounces from a store in CA. I was informed they would charge me a 25% restocking fee ($16.23 in my case), which is probably more than their actual profit for selling the product. Instead of allowing them to sell the item again for even more profit, I chose to keep it as a paperweight. To their credit, I made a mistake when placing my online order, inadvertantly choosing the wrong color kickplate. The day I received the item I called WR Hardware to let them know about the error. The woman on the phone assured me it would be replaced for the correct color and she told me to email info@wrhardware to receive an RGA number for a return. I did so immediately. I waited two days and did not hear back. I called the company, but they were closed (it was a Saturday). Two days later was Labor Day, and they were not in again, but I did re-send my original email. I waited two additional days, and when they did not respond I called again. This time I was told my request should be sent to service@wrhardware. After immediately sending my email, I received a response telling me there is no return allowed for kickplates. Why was I not told this in the first place? (I would have understood.) Why was I given the wrong email address to write to, and why did no one who was receiving my emails tell me to send it to the other email address? (The email address I was using matched one on the invoice, so I assume it is a working email). Why were they not available on a Saturday or have a voice mail to leave a message? I placed an order 2 weeks ago, and the status of my order has not changed since that time. The status is "INCREASING", but not sure what that means. I have been trying to cancel this order the the last 4 days, however there is not an option to do so online, and nobody has returned my messages. I have even tried calling, but their auto-attendant says that they are not accepting calls at this time, and that I have to send a message, which leaves me back at square one. No help, no support and a charge for merchandise that I have no faith that I will ever receive. I am at a dead end. This place is a black hole. It swallows your money, but nothing ever escapes from it. No phone access (automated outgoing message, no one evers answers, even during normal business hours, and no way to leave a phone message), no emails are acknowledged or replied, no product is delivered. I've been waiting over 2 weeks since their auto-email reply "confirmed" my order was "received and is being processed". That was August 6, 2020 (the same day I placed the order at their windowdoorparts.com website). It is now August 22, 2020. My credit card was charged on August 6, but no product delivered; no further emails; no communication from of any kind regarding my order status; nothing. Purchased an Adams Rite lock - shop pulled the incorrect finish. When I contacted the Customer Service Dept., the gal said I took too long to inform them and they wouldn't help me. I sent a photo showing the box and the incorrect finish - they refused to do anything saying my invoice says right on it that I had 30 days to notify them.... problem is that we are a custom door builder and we don't get around to locks until almost complete - in this case it was 60 days. I told this gal that the photo is clearly evidence of the incorrect finish - she said I could have bought it somewhere else ! Are you kidding me ? For a $9 thumb turn I'm going to work that hard on taking advantage of them ? Ridiculous. In my opinion, the department they call "Customer Service" is anything but. Hard to believe this company has been in business since 1976 as they have terrible customer service. I do not recommend using this company as there are other online options with MUCH better customer service. I placed an order online for a window balance. I measured my existing balance and provided the numbers stamped on the bottom 27-4. The next day I received an email from a woman at the company as follows--"with the numbers you gave us for the channel balance we are unable to process this ordet they don't coinside with each other therefore we have canceld this order". No phone call asking for clarification or more details and when I called the company to ask for some assistance I was immediately told they had never seen a balance stamped with the numbers I provided and that they could not help me. I even offered to mail in my balance so they could look at it but was told that wouldn't matter so don't bother. Company should NOT be trusted with your credit cards or any other sensitive information. They do NOT secure your financial information and do NOT notify customers when their systems have been compromised. Do NOT Trust this place with your credit card. They appear to have had some type of SECURITY breach and didn't bother to notify customers. I got a "fraud alert" last night for an unauthorized charge attempt to my card for $800+ for Microsoft. When I called my credit card company, they traced the attempted fraudulent charge attempt a VIRTUAL credit card number I used online at the WR Hardware website all the way back in March 2020. Because each virtual credit card number can only be used at ONE website, the Capital One Fraud specialist I spoke with was able to tell me EXACTLY which site compromised my virtual card number - the compromised virtual card number was created JUST for the WR Hardware website, so there is no way to pin the 'blame' on any other company but this one.. In addition, the fraud specialist told me that somebody had been trying to charge $25.00 every 4 days to my virtual credit card number. Luckily, it was easy to shut off that virtual card number. Do you need window or door parts., well......if you are In a hurry for window parts ? FORGET IT! Be ready to wait for at least 40 days.. not 4 days....40 long days. Called and called , waited and waited for 4 window balancers. I had to double check to see if I was ordering from China. I waited so long I ended up fabricating my own after buying a rivet gun that uses 5/8 long rivets. I was able to replace all of the broken parts stealing from ones I found in the trash. I was trying to close on a house sale thinking I have plenty of time to order new parts....WRONG, I finally got my balancers today Aug 28th after ordering on July 17 and I really don't even care if they work or not because I would waste any more time dealing with this operation cluster----.. Don't even bother to call! I just purchased a home and the patio door handle was not the right one for the door. I called WR Hardware and the person that took the call was very rude. He wanted me to go on line and find a part number, when I explained that the door I had used a non standard bolt pattern he said well then I can' t freaking help and hung up. I sent an e-mail to let the company know and below is the response I got. After this I asked to speak to a supervisor and Sue called me, she was very rude and didn't understand that I had not ordered anything. I explained that my entire issue is poor customer service and rude people. She said well if you didn't order anything I'm not going to waste my time on you and hung up. I did some research myself and found a door handle. I then checked their price and it was HIGHER BY 23%!!!!!!!!!! DON'T GET FOOLED THEY ARE NOT THE BEST PRICE!!!!! Our company buys a lot of manufactured houses and 9 times out of 10 there are window issues. We have been dealing with WR for the past year and a half. Their parts are shipped in a timely manner and they always fit. Some of their inventory is nearly impossible to find anywhere else without a lot of searching. I ordered toilet tissue dispenser on Feb/26 and called back two weeks later to check on the order they told me I will received them in one week. Called back on April/6 (41 days later) they told me same-thing again. When I complained to a manager name Beth about the delay and the fact that they should have noticed the customer at time of order that the order may take more that 7 weeks, she said that's not our policy. She was extremely rude. I express that this is not right so she went ahead and canceled the order against may wish and said "I can cancel anybody's order that I wish".That was after already waiting 6 week. well my experience mirrors most of the rest. I ordered window balances nearly a year ago. One failed (a rivet pulled out). i called & they said there was no warranty. i had originally ordered from them because i found their website to be the easiest to match up the part i needed, so i bit the bullet & reordered from them, referencing the original order. the original order took an excessive amount of time to arrive, & i inquired about it back then. the new order came in a very poorly packed box that i'm surprised they didn't fall out of, but were miraculously in fine shape. upon receiving them, i could now see how they should be strung & realized the hook was missing as well on the failed one (the knot had come untied) so all i really needed was the rivet & hook to restore failed balance. they emailed me back that they couldn't do that, so i replied i'll just write my review & move on, which prompted a phone call inquiring as to what my problem was, completely confused, no knowledge of my previous order despite referencing it in the comments of my second order, but telling me they NEVER have problems or failures of their balances. i suggested that they have had one now! i'll make a hook & rivet (its not really rocket science) & i'll accept the "danger" they warned of in having a balance w/improper tension. and move on. being old, i have come to expect everything to be crap these days. this company is no worse than most, but i certainly won't be dealing with them again. read more

Wow, I cannot believe the bad service from these people. First off I measured the handle I needed and matched it to the specs on the website. Well, the handles that arrived did not match the specs on the website. I asked if I could send them a handle and have them send me the correct ones. Response: "We do not take returns under $100.00 and you agreed to this by accepting our terms". So, that was well hidden in their long page of terms. Most upstanding businesses alert you as you are placing the order that they have specific terms. Then they had the gall to say I could place another order!!! avoid this business!!! obviously from their other terrible reviews, i wish i would have looked them up on yelp prior to ordering from them. i was looking for a keyed exterior door handle. i was unsure from the wording of the description & the photo online if the item was what i was searching for, so i called & spoke with a person (real person) who assured me the item i was looking at & reading about was indeed the item i was searching for. obviously they were just trying to get off the phone ... because when i received the item it was not what i was looking for. i explained to the person i spoke with that i was looking for an exterior door handle that not only locks from the interior but has a key & is able to be locked/unlocked from exterior. i was assured several times it was a keyed locking exterior door handle. well sure enough when i received it, no key hole (so obviously no key). it is a locking handle but not a keyed locking handle. there is a huge difference & their so called expert technicians don't know the difference!!!! on top of this issue - it took over a month to receive the item at all ... which was a complete lie from their estimated time. i called after 2 weeks & they said it was still in progress & estimated shipping was 2 more weeks!!!! i should have known then to cancel the shipment & get far away from this business!!! after i received the wrong item, i called & emailed multiple times. it took a week for anyone to finally respond to me. one person i spoke to had a terrible attitude only to tell me i had to make request online & "the" person that handles returns wasn't in. after "the" person that handles returns finally emailed me back, they refused to allow me to return the product. their return policy is not made obvious when ordering ... their return policy is in their terms and conditions. and although i was ill-advised by one of their "expert" technicians, i am stuck with a door handle that i can't use. i have contacted the bbb to see what can be done. hope this review helps someone else not be ripped off by this company. read more
