The Asahi arrived in a frozen mug, which made it even more refreshing. We also ordered the Shell Beach Sunset roll, which had an amazing balance of raw and cooked fish, vegetables, and the added crunch of tempura flakes. All the flavors and textures worked perfectly together. The nine-piece sashimi was beautifully presented and incredibly fresh. For dessert, we had the tempura ice cream and the green tea cheesecake--both were absolutely delicious. Honestly, everything we ordered was fantastic. Our servers, Jasmine and Austin, truly killed it. They were friendly, attentive, and genuinely engaged throughout the meal. The restaurant itself had great lighting and décor, was spotless and well-maintained, even down to the restrooms. Parking was plentiful and free. Overall, we had a wonderful time with family and friends. An amazing experience and definitely worth coming back to.

I had to stop eating to make sure I could enjoy them together - even though they were both ordered together and the only thing I got. I honestly wanted to eat more but the server was pretty rude to me in particular despite trying to be as nice as possible to him. After my second order I left especially because while delicious it still felt overpriced especially for a very causal environment with a TV playing sports. I would get takeout next time and eat at a nearby vista point.

We originally made our reservation for 7:30 p.m.... we then decided we wanted to perhaps change it to 6:30. We called ahead and hopes that they could accommodate us. They said they couldn't promise anything but they would try. We showed up around 6:15. And they sat us down around 6:35. We had a beautiful window seat overlooking the ocean and had a perfect view of the sunset. I forgot our server's name but he was amazing. This place sounds fancy and bougie but it's really not. The food might be, but the vibe is not. There's no dress code. Everything we ordered was soooo tasty and delicious! We ordered fish and chips, baked clams, a wedge salad, and seafood pasta. For drinks we had two mocktails that were just okay. We also got a couple of flour tortillas with some cinnamon butter and a salsa trio. Our server suggested we spread butter inside the tortilla and drizzle our favorite salsa inside. So good. After dinner we decided to walk around the restaurant and appreciate the views. I'm so glad we came here. We will definitely come back next time we come to Pismo Beach

This review is for the Teppanyaki grill only. Let me start by saying the bad reviews are most…read morelikely from uptight people that most likely suffer from TDS. We went for my wife's birthday on 11/29/25 and had a fantastic time and enjoyed some amazing food. I read one review from a lady complaining about the price of ordering extra rice. The potion of fried rice they give you is so much we couldn't finish it. If you have to order extra rice for your husband and son, they are probably obese and should exercise some portion control. And if you want to order sushi, go sit at a damn sushi table. Don't bring a bunch of bratty kids to the teppan grill to order from the sushi bar like the annoying family we were seated with. Secondly, I hear a lot of reviews that say the server was sarcastic and rude. This is not the case at all. She actually has a sense of humor and is very funny. She just doesn't put up with peoples BS. Unfortunately, most uptight people have no sense of humor. She put a bratty kid in his place that really deserved it, after the yuppy dad would not, and it was hilarious. She is very sweet and brought my wife a complimentary desert. We both ordered the calamari and fillet minion with fried rice. It was amazing and the chef was great and also very talkative and funny. The setting is verry cool in front of big windows and comfy chairs. The food is not greasy, and flavorless like was mentioned in a review. It seems to me society is way to spoiled for their own good. And to those that complain about the prices please stay home if you can't afford to go out for a good meal. And maybe don't plunk out children you can't afford either. And remember the only ones your kids are special to is you. Yanagis =5 stars! Annoying people with brat kids that can't put their smart phone away at dinner = 0 stars.

Even during the off-season, they can get busy for dinners so make a reservation, especially if you have a larger group. The patio is dog friendly and they have a private parking lot. We started the meal with a half dozen fresh oysters which were cleaned well and served with some Tabasco, an herby vinegar, and lemons. Fresh warm bread and butter were also provided to start the meal. We got the steamed clams which were absolutely delicious. Done with a classic garlicky white sauce, the clams were fresh with no unpleasant fishy smells or tastes. The seafood pasta is the reason we return to Ada's year after year. There's a huge assortment of seafood included and all of the individual ingredients are well cooked unlike most seafood pastas. The mussels were small and very mild in flavor, almost tasting like clams. A flaky white fish as well as a more meaty fish were also included and weren't overcooked. The creamy rose sauce is flavorful and rich without overwhelming the various ingredients Service is friendly and they have a wide selection of drinks available.

I was a bit dismayed to find, upon arrival, that the options were kind of limited. I was still torn between the tacos, the birria fries and the spicy chicken sandwich. I took a chance and went with the chicken sandwich, hoping that it wouldn't be too spicy. I also ordered a side of fries, not knowing that the sandwich came with fries already. I don't know why I thought the sandwich same by itself. My mistake. The chicken sandwich was very good. A bit spicy but not to the point I couldn't finish it. It also had this nice sweet taste that contrasted well with the spice. I knew my wife would like it so I let her have a bite. I was also curious about my sons birria fries so I stole a bite of those. I recommend if you come in a group, be sure to share some. It would also be nice if you could upgrade the fries that come with your meal to birria fries, you know for an extra $2 or something. From what I can tell, everything is good here. If I could, next time I'm getting birria tacos with a side of birria fries! Probably the only gripe I could find was that service was on the slow side. 2 people were responsible for the whole restaurant, besides the cooking in the back. One mostly manned the bar and the other roamed the tables while helping behind the bar too. It wasn't that busy and the place isn't that big. My man wasn't lazy and was always doing something. It's just that paying the bill was a process. Eventually I got up to go pay rather than wait for the bill to come to us. I'm happy to have found The Break and hope to come back
