They Nail Tech Kim Charged me twice for one manicure
Samantha C.

Very horrible! Nail tech Kim charged two times for one manicure. The firs time I paid, she said not okay, didn't pay successfully, and ask me pay the second time. I paid the second time, she said paid successfully. And when I checked my bank statement. The first time is successfully paid already, she just not being honest and try to get more money on me. Not honest, please avoid this place! Horrible

gloves filled with acetone used for acrylic removal, causing severe dryness, irritation, and burning on my hands.

DO NOT GO HERE! This was one of the worst experiences I've ever had at a nail salon. I had an appointment at 4:30 PM and arrived about 15 minutes late. When I asked if I could still get my full service (mani, pedi, and acrylic removal), the nail tech confirmed that it was fine and even gave me a price estimate, which I agreed to. After finishing my pedicure, she suddenly told me she couldn't do my hands anymore and that I'd have to come back later at 7 PM or the next day. This was completely unprofessional--she should have told me from the beginning instead of wasting my time. She also mentioned that I was late, yet she took my appointment anyway and even scheduled another client over mine. When she finally agreed to do my acrylic removal, she cut off my nails and put my entire hands into gloves filled with acetone, leaving them soaking for over 20 minutes. This is NOT a proper technique, and it resulted in my hands burning, turning white, and becoming extremely dry and irritated. I told another tech about it, and when I washed my hands, I realized just how bad the damage was. At that point, I refused to pay because this was completely unacceptable and negligent. As I left, one of the staff ran to the door and yelled at me, which was beyond unprofessional. I have photos of my hands and the gloves they used. If you care about your time, money, and the health of your nails and skin, AVOID THIS PLACE!

Kim is the best

$40-60 This place is amazing. The place is so clean and smells so good inside the spa. All Staffs are good. I got a pedicure many times with Kim / Mimi at my technical nails. She always takes her time to do her job. Please ask for her. You will love it. My place to go get my pedicure/Medicare done. They have online booking 24 hours. You can book directly from the website very easy to book. No need to call schedule.

Lady just painted over a hair after i told her there is a piece of hair on my nail.

The salon is clean and modern. My lady left to fix someone else's nails for 30 minutes without telling me. Shape of nails were all not straight. Square is one of the easiest shape. I had black nail polish prior and she did not get all of them off. Also - I TOLD her there was a piece of hair stuck to my nail and she just PAINTED OVER IT.

Dip manicure

Needed to get my nails done so I used Yelp to narrow down my search and saw that WOW had a lot of good reviews. They're located in a luxurious-looking strip mall/building, and thankfully the building has a parking garage because we came on a rainy day. As two walk-ins at 4 pm, we were seen immediately. WOW has a lot of techs so it looked like everyone else who came in after us didn't have to wait either. We started off with pedicures and then later I got a dip manicure. I initially chose this place because I saw that their classic pedicure is $30, which is a little more expensive than what I'm used to seeing in Gainesville, FL but was actually the cheapest I had seen for this part of Virginia. However, when I told the tech that my boyfriend wanted the cheapest pedicure, she still gave him the spa treatment instead of the classic, and that was $45. As for me, my tech correctly gave me the classic pedicure, but I feel like she could have been more careful during cuticle care because two of my toes had started to bleed and sting. The same tech did my dip manicure, which came out beautiful. I had asked her to cut my nails shorter and to round them out, both of which she didn't do enough of, but in the end my nails still looked nice. I appreciate how thin she made the dip because I hate it when people leave the dip looking thick and chunky. The techs were nice, the spa was clean, and WOW's COVID precautions include putting up dividers in between members of differing parties.

My nail two weeks after my cuticle bled during the manicure.

I'm satisfied with my dipped nails, and they are holding up well after a few days. I am curious though if they last three weeks as claimed. Perhaps unintentional, but I really felt like they were really selling the dip nails to me because they were more expensive. I'm not sure if this is normal as I've only had my nails professionally done a couple times, but three of my cuticles bled as they were trimming them. Is that supposed to happen? They continued to feel raw for almost 48 hours afterwards. I think for me to feel like I was having a spa like experience is for my hands to be handled more gently. I felt like the way my hands were guided throughout the manicure, it felt like doing my nails was a hassle and this manicure just needs to be be over with to move on to the next person. I also saw one person get up to take a call a couple times while servicing someone's nails without even excusing themselves and apologizing when they returned. I am not sure how clean this place is. For a place that uses tools that can make me bleed, I did not see them get cleaned in between clients. That made me decide to put neosporin on the areas where my cuticles bled for a couple days just in case. The dip manicure takes close to an hour. There is a huge selection of colors. If you choose OPI, there is a $5 additional charge. It's $50 for dip nails, $25 (I think) for gel. I really don't think I would return given this experience, but if this is what it's like typically at nail salons, I think I'm going to do my nails myself.

Thank you Mimi
Lisa K.

After speaking to Leanna, I was scheduled to come in on Wednesday but had to reschedule due to a work meeting. They were very understanding and worked with me to find a time that would fit my availabilities and got me in for today. Mimi took her time to redo all of my nails. She made sure I was happy and 100% satisfied with everything before I left today. She communicated with me every step of the way which I really appreciated. Thank you to Leanna for responding and taking the time to talk to me about concerns. Thank you to Mimi for taking the time and being so wonderful to me!

5/25/20 Nice clean bathroom.

5/25/20 WOW! they really are open, but you have to make an appointment first. I talked to one woman in a yellow shirt who just might be the manager of the store. She is the lady I believe I orginally spoke to. Then I spoke with my esthetician named Amy. Amy is a gastroenterologist; as well, as esthetician. Amy told me a head if time that this salon does not do the pubic area of the leg. Yes, there is a difference as I found out by another esthetician at another store. Nevertheless, since Amy had informed me about this, I was okay with that. Eventually my normal waxing place will open back up. Amy moved fast and removed hair nicely. Yes the hairs are hard to see at times so do-overs were done too. The waxing was much needed, and the removal of the hairs on my arms is now gone. No more hair being pulled when I wear my bracelet. Amy was pleasant to talk to and I even made her laugh several times. This nail spa is nice, but it is not my normal one I go to. There are areas of the body that are not covered for men, but I was already told about that. I do appreciate that this store was open when many others are not. The a number of people were getting pedicures, but were spaced out and wearing masks. Washing your hands when you first come in is requested too. The customers I saw were doing their own thing as they got their treatments done. They all seemed to look at me except the brother on his cell phone. I was the only one getting something different as I followed Amy to the waxing studio. I have had the sitting while being waxed before and the esthetician removed wax on my arms. I don't like getting wax on my clothes and Amy is the only one who didn't. Still, I will request a large towel to go over my clothes show I have to sit there in my underwear. The whole experience was good, but in the future I will prefers to go to my normal places if I can. I think the only Drew back on this experience is the clean up of the wax need more attention to detail. I tipped Amy 15 dollars for her time and services. Thank you Amy and Thank you manger in the Yellow shirt. I will try your store again with a different service next time. Oh, I found out the price for a 1 hour massage is $80. Right now Xena the store manager (who was wearing the yellow shirt), says they don't have a massage therapist at this time. I will try them at a later time.

This is a very clean salon with a wonderful team of dedicated nail experts. Mimi is fantastic & really cares about her work. Thank you, Mimi!

Amy is awesome . She did my nails tonight and I am so happy that I had to share a photo.

Instead of addressing my concerns or offering any reassurance, she brushed me off, handed me a consent form to read on my own, and abruptly walked away to attend to another client. I was left standing there feeling dismissed and unheard. There was no effort to answer my questions, guide me through the process, or make me feel comfortable. To make matters worse, I was simply told to "book online" if I wanted to proceed. Without any real consultation or support. That is not what I would expect from a business that provides personal care services, especially when a client is expressing legitimate health concerns. This experience left me feeling even more anxious than when I walked in. Compassion and basic customer care go a long way, and sadly, neither was present here. Based on this interaction, I would not recommend this location or any affiliated locations. If this is how clients are treated. If i could give no stars I would!

They were super thin to begin with, and with age they had started to thin out even more. They were so thin, they disappeared in photos . Anyways, she helped me pick out color that would complement my ever changing hair color. The process it self isn't completely painless. She uses numbing creams on your brows so it is a lot less painful than getting a tattoo, but you do still feel the tools slightly on your skin. (A little) pain is beauty, right? Keep in mind your skin and your skin care routine can really impact how long it will take your brows to fade. You should expect to come in once a year for an annual touch up. Immediately after after a visit you'll need to avoid getting water on your brows for a day, and then avoid being in direct sunlight and sweating (I avoided taking cardio) for about a week for the ink to set. This is the same with tattoos (which I have a few of so I was prepared for this). Your brows will look darker than expected due to scabbing but your real brows will be revealed by the end of the week! One last thing to be prepared for: funny looks from people when your skin starts to heal and peel One patch of skin on my right brow which for no good reason just does not hold ink. It fades super quick compared to the rest which stays and fades consistently over a year, but this one spot just refuses to keep ink! Amy has been super helpful and nice in doing extra sessions to try going over that spot a bit extra. It's definitely easy enough to fill in this one spot with makeup but wanted to mention since Amy has done everything to to try to help it, but it's clearly an issue with that patch of skin. For you people who hate calling to make appointments, you can schedule online and even text her direct (I've sent photos of my brows this way) and she's super quick (within 24 hours) in responding!

I didn't know this time around was going to be negative unlike the other service visits. I've had my appointment be rescheduled from 8 Am on a Saturday to 10 to 10:30 Am to then rescheduled for 8 Am the following Sunday, all on the count of Bella apparently having issues with her son's flight. It's 8:42 Am and I'm here still waiting for Bella to arrive, apparently from the airport. I'm trying to be patient and keep an open mind as life can happen but it's not a good look on the business for the owner to ask to reschedule multiple times within 24 hours and still be running late to the appointment. The deposit is non refundable hence why I'm here. I very much doubt I'll be getting any discount or price reduction on today's service but I know I'll never recommend this place anymore for lashes. Monday's Update: I got my lashes done, but I was right as Bella went ahead and charged my card on file anyways for the remainder of the service despite cancelling and rescheduling all on her account. I've filed a dispute with my bank to see about the merchant refunding me the $82.50 as it didn't feel appropriate given this visit's circumstances with her lack of punctuality. I'm also not pleased with how the lashes look since I asked for a more natural, wispy look and she went with a more dramatic look. Regardless if I get my money back or not, and despite the compliments I get on the lashes, I will not be recommending this place moving forward.

Rather than the standard, massage table type set up, they have reclining, massaging chairs. They also provide you with a warm blanket and it helps create a relaxing environment. Before starting the service, they have you wash your lashes at their sink station. I can appreciate this because over the years, I've learned over the years, it is super important to have clean, residue free, lashes to ensure you get the most of your lash fill. Depending on your lash tech, depends on if they clean your lashes prior to starting the fill. I do understand it's a rather difficult task to clean someone's eyes will they lay down as there is no real efficient way to clean the lashes without getting water all over the clients face. Nonetheless, I'm sad there isn't a similar lash bar like this one where I live in Austin. I definitely plan to return anytime I am back home visiting.

Secondly and most importantly, Olivia was clearly very sick and was coughing the whole session. She did not appear to sanitize between appointments nor take any real precautions while applying my lashes. I felt the cough on my face and hair which made it an extremely uncomfortable situation. I , as many others, was getting my lashes done before an event/travel. I am pregnant and also have a young toddler at home. I ended up getting sick and this is going to affect our plans immensely. Imagine if someone got their lashes done right before their wedding, that would be an epic catastrophe. If I had known that she was going to severely cough on my face with a half covered mask (not covering the nose) and with no sanitization, I would've immediately left. I went into this appointment without a word from her that she's actively sick. Once you're on the table, you're kind of stuck there, so I just had to bite the bullet and continue. I don't think this was the right approach by Olivia. A warning should've been given if she wanted to offer her services while sick. She should've taken active precautions to avoid getting others sick. I'm highly disappointed, and now I am going to have to quarantine myself in the hopes of avoiding getting my family sick right before our travels. Also, tip is required. Just a heads up as some lash locations do charge and some don't.
