Don't go to Matt's Automotive in Greenport/Hudson behind Bagel Tyme…read more In another review, you can find a report on Matt Cohn's refusal to take responsibility for putting defective parts on my car on 8/30/25, but now I want to report on the brake job he did on my car that endangered the lives of others and me: While routinely servicing my car, my regular mechanic called my attention to the fact that the brake lines were rubbing on the axles, causing them to wear and eventually break. Because he said it was too dangerous to drive the car, I had to rent a car and pay my mechanic to properly install the brake lines. Because Matt had refused to reimburse me for the tow, I took my case to court and received a judgement in my favor. Matt did not deign to show up for the court hearing, and he does not accept responsibility for anything he does, including doing such shoddy work that lives are endangered. He has not responded to the hearing and paid for his mistakes.

Then it started slowing down and chugging as if the brakes were grabbing. I managed to get home to Ghent from Chatham before it stopped moving entirely. I called Matt and he recommended a tow truck business that charged me $150 from my house to Greenport, less than 12 miles if you don't go the long way around, which he did. Matt's employer told me the clips were defective and that they had ordered new ones and had them before my car got to the garage. Since then, Matt has been messing with me. First, he said he wasn't responsible, and when I asked him who was, he wouldn't tell me where he had purchased the clips from, but said he'd "call her" and get back to me, which he did not. When I called him, he said that the company didn't take responsibility for defective parts and he'd give me some discounts along the way, which would have been a long way because I usually only go there for tires, and I had just purchased $800 worth from him. Long story shorter than it could be, after putting me off many times, he finally said he'd reimburse me if I gave him the receipt for the tow. I left a copy of it after hours in his slot for him and he claimed he never saw it. Then, today, 5 months later, I took him another copy of the receipt, and he said that it was supposed to have been taken care of, that the Auto Zone nearby was supposed to have sent me a check, and I should go there, which I did. They said they didn't know what I was talking about, and they don't sell those clips to him, so I went back, and then he said the manager I had talked to had told him that she was looking into it. The manager at Auto Zone had acted like she had never heard anything about it. Five months and still no refund!

The…read moreHudson location has had an ongoing issue with vacuums not working causing potential for an accident after leaving automated wash or wash bays. When selecting vacuum its a game of chance if vacuum works or not, causing customers to back out and seek a working vacuum, causing confusion and poor flow of traffic, along with poor service and inconvenience to the customer. It would help if the vacuums were marked to be seen out of order by facility staff to void inconvenience, confusion and risk of accident. The average of vacuums out of service are over half of them on any given day. Last week I sent an email to the Hoffman customer care to notify them of my concern listed above. A day later I received a reply that they would reach out to the location and check vacuums. Yesterday, 1 week later I returned for the drive thru carwash to find vacuum area in same condition. Customers now have been leaving hoses on ground for no working units. The vacuum I pulled up to did not work, I did notice an employee emptying the trash hanging up the hoses to broken vacuums. You think they would be marked out of order? NO! Let me describe why you should not go here and spend money for wash else where: 1. Price for wash does not match what you should receive, they don't even re-spray you car anymore to loosen mud or heavy soil. 2. They try to bunch cars up bumper to bumper without much space which in turn may cause damage/collision if leading vehicle hits brake and comes off track. 3. Over half of the vacuums are always out of service causing customer inconvenience and risk. 4. Exiting their drive way has potholes that collect water. Leaving there property only gets you dirty water splashed on your clean car which you just paid to have washed. I give ZERO star! Avoid this place and when business starts to decline maybe they will be appreciative of the consumer and keep the facility in good repair.

The staff was friendly, unfortunately for what I paid for this automatic car wash I expected better. There were still bugs on my bumper which I managed to scrape off with a towel - doesn't say much for the attendant scrubbing my car. The dryers at the end of the wash are useless - they're pushing you out the door before the air has time to blast the excess water off your car. The price points are a bit high in my opinion.

I have been using this car wash's dog wash for years. It's never been great, but in the winter I…read morehave nowhere at home to wash my dogs. The water pressure is terrible (and they charge by the minute, so tick-tock), the shampoo is minimal so I always bring my own, and the ramp leading into the tub is useless unless you are bringing in a squirrel. Today I took them, spent $20 to wash them, and then was ready to spend another $20 to dry them, but the dryer was blowing cold air. So I had to take both of my dogs, SOAKING WET, outside in 30 degree weather. When I got them home and attempted to towel dry them, I discovered they still had soap in their undercoats because the water was BARELY warm. You can't rinse soap out of dogs with long hair with lukewarm water. Easy fix -- put up a sign up that says OUT OF ORDER -- because that's exactly what it was. Lukewarm water and a dryer that doesn't dry -- that's out of order. I'll never go back, and they've also lost a regular car wash customer.

Oh - and if you are unlucky enough, like we were, to have a rude trucker pull up behind/upwind of you and idle while waiting for you to finish. Tip: if there are two or more of you, get a head start on the brush step by scrubbing the first side while someone else keeps putting pre-soak on the second side. The brush won't be making foam but it can still get your vehicle clean!
