We have been coming to this timeshare in Birch Bay for the last 28 years. Always love the location…read moreof the resort because it is so peaceful and serene with great clamming close by. It is also very close to Richmond in Canada where we love to go for good Cantonese food. This last trip was the second time we managed to book a presidential suite with a private hot tub in the balcony. The unit is a bit dated, but spacious and comfortable. It's also very good to know that they send service personnel to check the hot tub every other day. The resort also has clamming equipment that can be borrowed. We got a lot of huge cockles and horse clams on the beach in the Birch Bay State Park which is about a mile away. We always have a great time at this resort.

This is the closest WorldMark to the U.S. Canada Border in Blaine, which is about 6.5 miles drive from the resort. We arrived around 1:00a, check-in was fast and we were given our key cards and parking pass. As all of WorldMark by Wyndham resorts the unit was clean with a fully-equipped kitchen including a microwave, refrigerator, and stovetop along with a separate living area. We had a studio unit (only one available at time of booking) and our room was on the 5th floor. As always during our trips we never get to enjoy the hotel amenities (pool, recreation area, etc) since we always start our day out early and arrive back late. Can't waste any adventure time while on vacation. For our last evening we walked across the street to Bay Breeze Restaurant & Bar. We had a pleasant stay at this Worldmark location even though we were out most of the time. Review #3623

Called to confirm and made addition to include a dog with additional charges. Called to change to 1-night-stay 10 days before. Confirmed over the phone but revised email showed wrong rate. They did not response to my follow-up email and 2 days ago advised system error double booked and insisted they have the right to just cancel my reservation. I requested for compensation as there is no vacancy in Birch Bay. I had to change my plan last minute. The owner played the game that she was only an employee and her attitude was really bad. I can understand there could be technical error but I should not be the only one to suffer from the situation. Also, I suspected they are renting it to someone who is staying for more than 1 night as it is a Canadian long weekend. They refused to provide an explanation of why they chose to cancel my reservation. No even an apology. My family vacation is ruined. This business is not running with integrity and the reservation system is not reliable.

We enjoyed the drive from Seattle to Birch Bay and were impressed with the views and local amenities. But we stayed at the Birch Bay Getaway and that fairly ruined it. The room we stayed in, called the Eagles Roost, looked nothing on the outside like the pictures on the website. We had problems with the TV (no cable as advertised), the stereo, the curtain tie back in the room that fell out of the wall, the heater that clattered. A motor powered generator woke us at 6AM. Cables sat where they laid, there was no attempt to tie them back or at least tuck them behind electronics. A cabinet in the kitchen bumps the bulb in the ceiling if you fully open it. It goes on and on, just little nuances of poor design and workmanship that detract from the 'getaway' you paid for. We're not offended by the tacky artwork of the nude woman sunbathing on a rock that sits behind the couch, but I can see how others might be. If I were to go back, I'd try renting one of the many homes across the road from the bay.

So here we are at the Silver Reef Casino. An open area outside of the crowds. We called the local number to make our reservations and to avoid these online reservations agencies that just inflate the prices. We ended up with a nice hotel with clean rooms. Our room has queen size beds with a medium firmness. This room is clean and spacious. It has a large flat screen TV, a decent sized mini fridge, a dresser for those of us who like to unpack. The A/C unit heats nicely. There is a large vanity for the bathroom and the tub shower offers shampoo and body wash. The bonus to staying at a casino hotel is the addition of security. Less worries about your car. Then there's the restaurants that are available, here there are 5. So there it is, well kept rooms, plenty of free, secure parking, and on site restaurants as well as some adult entertainment before getting some shut eye. Much more relaxing here instead of being in the crowded big cities with minimal parking.

It looked like Grandma's apartment -- decorated in the 1970s and never updated. The beds were large and comfortable, though, and although the place was a little run down it was relatively clean. The only complaint I really had was about the cost of the room; I feel like we paid double what it was worth. The beach accesses in the immediate vicinity are very small and rocky -- not much "beach fun" to be had here.

Because of that, the noise coming from above continuted on until about 12:30. My husband said they must of been killing snakes with golf clubs up above us! Our room was clean, had a toaster oven, micro, frig and coffee pot. $90.00 in August 2012. The place had 2 pools, heard they were heated, but didn't try out either. There were few other ammenities, no shampoo or cream rinse in the bathroom, iron, anything "fancy" like that. The unit we were in must of been a distance from the wi-fi connector as it was sketcy and the TV in the unit was a mini TV. It is within walking distance of the water so that was nice. Overall, it was okay, would stay there again if it were the only place available.

Beds, bedding, towels, carpet, fridge. We had really great service. I called and changed plans due to family numbers. They were totally accommodating. We had several folks, 10 rooms, here for a Steamboat Meet and everyone had positive reviews of this place. This is an old hotel. The toilets are lower than I am used to, a grab bar would be helpful. The shower head is also low. A handheld would make things easier. Wi-Fi and tv worked well. More than enough hangars. Soap, conditioner and shampoo dispensers. I usually loathe these things, but they were very lightly scented and seemed to be a good product. Good ice machine. Coin Op washer/dryer available. A small notepad and pen would have been appreciated and would be a small expenditure but a good reminder to use and take home. We were half a mile from the marina and the BC Border. We won't hesitate to stay here again.
