My wife and I spent the last week here at the Vacation Internationale at Homestead and we loved the experience. We had our two young grandkids with us and they also enjoyed their time here. We stayed in the 1 bedroom deluxe room four nights and 3 nights in the 1 bedroom suite. Both rooms were pretty nice. We did not have any complaints. The staff was super helpful and very accommodating. Some Covid-19 restrictions to be aware are that most of the common areas were not available for use and that was a bit of a bummer. The pool located at the clubhouse, the library, and the laundry room were not available. The resort is located on a majestic 18 Hole Golf Course by the same name( Homestead). We were able to take long walks along the golf cart path most evenings. We saw duck, beaver, geese, and many bunnies. We also heard toads and frogs along the paths near the numerous ponds throughout the property. Overall we had a great time. I don't understand the negative reviews at all. read more

We booked a room for 3 nights at Rosedale on Robson in Vancouver, BC and not only did they charge me in USD versus CAD the contract specifically said customer would be charged the balance at the hotel at time of check-in and they charged me 3 days before check-in. I tried fighting the charge, but they put up so many barriers hoping you will just go away. Be VERY careful as they have a reputation for doing this. read more

Nice spot convenient to everywhere around including into Canada and over to Bellingham or down south to Mount Vernon. Can go all the way to the coast in about 30 minutes. Great Headquarters for your adventures. Full kitchen in some of the units, attractively designed; best part of the one-bedroom units though was the STEAM SHOWER. Must try! Like a sauna. Definitely putting this on my "honey do" list for our own house immediately. We were a bit thrown off that guests take out their own trash but oki dok, not that huge of a deal in the long run. We were late checking in and Jessica was nice enough to hang out for a few and walk us through it. Thanks Jessica! (PS neighborhood smells like cows - be ready!). Right next to a fancy steakhouse late night hot spot - so a bit noisy with cars in the parking lot till around 10 PM or so. read more

Homestead Resort Lynden, Washington Beware! Pass this one up folks if you're seeking a rural oasis. In the words of the late Bette Davis, "...what a dump". If I wrote a screenplay, I would call it "Resort From Hell". The receptionists are unlike other's I've encountered in my travel adventures and do nothing to make you feel respected as a customer. I reserved my room well in advance and asked for a top floor corner room. Within a minute, a rude response was received indicating "...we don't guarantee a specific room". I replied stating "I do not expect a specific room, solely an upper level corner room". When I checked in today, likely out of revenge, I was given a bottom floor room by the front desk. The parking lot only had a few cars so I had my choice of parking anywhere in the lot. I'm shocked this is marketed as a resort. Physically, it looks like something from the 80's or 90's. It was a cold and gray day in late spring and 49 degrees at night. There is substandard heat. When it does come on, it is loud and turns off at 60 second intervals. It is a combination heating and air conditioning system. As a result, I ended up sleeping on the sofa as the bedroom was too cold for comfort with cold air directly hitting me while in bed. Can you believe that this so called resort even requests that you take out your own trash when you leave? They also prematurely use your credit card for a $50 up front fee as one checks in. Even if they're no charges, it stays on your credit card for a week or longer. The receptionists leave a tag on your door a day in advance reminding you that your check out time the following day is 11:00 AM, as if the guest paying for the room is unaware. If you're looking for a faux resort, this may be your place! But if you want a place where you're treated with respect and dignity, I recommend the "Inn At Lynden'. read more

My husband and I came here for a short getaway and booked it through VI. I find it rather annoying that you can't actually check in until 4:00; but since we got there an hour or so early, we looked around until we were checked in and drop off our stuff in our room. We were walking to our room and the main living area below gave off this weird smell (as one reviewer said, "smell like death.") The room itself was ok but we were having a bit of a hard time trying to lock/unlock the door. It had a small living and kitchen area complete with microwave, dishwasher, and most essential kitchen tools. The bedroom itself was smaller than I imagined but decent. Another thing I find annoying with VI is that they put a $50 hold on your credit card as soon as you check in (as a security deposit, I suppose) but as long as your room isn't trashed when you check out, you get the 50 bucks back. Vacation Internationale - A shower in a one-bedroom room - Hotels & Travel Near Me - Lynden, Washington

Okay, where shall I start. We arrived at 3:30 on Thursday afternoon, after driving for two hours from SeaTac (airport). A little challenging to locate, but found the registration. First impression was ok (7/10). After going inside, there was nobody in sight, my husband found someone in a back room who came out to assist. We were immediately informed that we could do all the paperwork, but could not check in because it was not yet 4:00. I thought she was kidding, and she positively was not. By the time we finished the paperwork, it was 3:35, and the lady said we could wait around or go do something for 25 minutes, because we could not get keys until 4:00. I'M SERIOUS !!! We were not allowed to get our room key 25 minutes early. So, we chose to drive around a little, returned at 4:30, got our keys and proceeded to our room. Room was clean, small, had a bit of an odor, but my husband thought it was from cleaning. FYI, hotel ( or as I was informed, the resort ) was quite empty. Following day, we left, returned that evening and our room was not cleaned. Could not ask anyone as the office was closed. Found a note on the front door of the hotel, yes, that's what I am calling this place, which read " if you get locked out of the hotel or your room, there is a $25 fee for them to come let you in ". Again, I'm serious, I think I'll take a picture of the sign, as it's pretty much unbelievable. So, following morning I went down and asked about the cleaning and was told that for our stay, of four nights, we are not entitled to have our room cleaned. I asked if we could have fresh towels, and was told yes, for a fee. So, I'm two nights in, and I'm not impressed. Hotel is okay, but this is certainly not a resort as the employees feel it is. A resort is a destination, this is not a place to hang out at during the day, only a place to stay at night. There are no activities here. I would return with having the knowledge that this is just a place to stay at night, and sightsee in the area during the day. Oh yeah, I want the add that I booked this room through our timeshare that I pay an annual maintenance and taxes fee for. This hotel charged us $25 for taxes, which in all the times I've stayed in timeshares, I've never, not once, ever had to pay taxes for staying at a place that I have booked as a timeshare. Final night update. When we arrived back this evening, we had a door hanger on our door with the hotels request of items to do when we leave in the morning. As one other person noted, which we had not been told, the hotel has requested that we load the dishwasher, okay, I can do that. Plus, take out our garbage, to a dumpster across the parking lot. Never before have I been asked to take out our garbage from the room, and since I'll never stay here again, I'll never be asked to do the housekeepers job again. My husband wonders if we need to strip the bed of our linens too ( haha ) read more

If I could give this "resort" a 0 star, I would. We only stayed 1 night, booked through RCI. As the previous reviewer said, there is a 2 hour checkin window. Since we arrived late, we got an "after hours" service that gives you the key via lockbox. We were told to check in the next morning on our way out. The building is obviously old and they tried to update it with as little money as possible. The hallways smell like death. The room was okay even though my daughter was scared and thought it may be haunted. The carpets are probably still original from decades ago. No toilettries to speak of (except a cheap bar of soap). You have to take out your own garbage to avoid a $25 fee. There are signs everywhere that speak of $25 fees for various types of infractions. When we checked in(and out) they told us there was a $55 cleaning fee that RCI charges! When we refused to pay, the manager threatened to call the police. Lovely customer service. We called RCI while onsite and they said they don't have such a fee and have never heard of such a fee being charged. Hopefully this review saves someone else from being subjected to this horrendous excuse for a resort. read more

Stayed there for a couple of nights a few months back. Loved it. We checked in late and had to use the drop box which was not a problem. The staff was very friendly. Our particular room must have been recently redone because everything seemed new...it was great. The view was out over the golf course and was great. If it hadn't been cloudy I am sure we could see Mt. Baker. The swimming pool is really cool because it was half indoor and half outdoor...the kids loved swimming outside in the rain. There is a simple free breakfast, with a waffle machine! Nice and quiet, will stay there again. read more

Most of the negative reviews about this company are based on sales force tactics and not the actual company itself. I have been an owner with this company for over 10 years and have owned multiple timeshares at 4 resorts with RCI, II, VRI and Vacation Internationale over the past 30 years. My wife and I hardly ever use our home resorts but rather, stay at other resorts within RCI, II, VRI or Vacation International. I must say, Vacation Internationale resorts are all very nice and well maintained. They are one of the most honest, and customer service centered companies I have ever encountered. (Once you get past the sales agents). Their customer service and corporate officers are wonderful and accommodating and will actually listen and respond to members concerns. Their resorts (43 at the time of this writing,) are all very nice and well maintained inside and out. They schedule regular updates of all of their resorts and pride themselves in maintaining high quality resorts for their members. Most of the negative reviews come from perspective buyers concerning sales contractors' tactics... Don't miss the fact that the actual company is VERY good once you purchase/join them. Members I speak with while on vacation, are very happy with VI. The company itself should be proud of their product, their resorts, their concierge services, their website and the way in which they service their members' needs and best interests. If you are looking for a time-share company and not sure of the quality once you join, (10+ yrs ago my wife and I signed into Vacation Internationale and thought "what did we do?" and we hoped things would work out) They did. Several times I have called the corporate office or customer support and either gotten an immediate response or in the case of corporate, a return phone call, the same day or the next. Salespeople will always be "salespeople" The company itself has provided me with many and varied vacations and has been very good to my wife and I, as well as the members I speak with, They also have taken great care of their resorts for many, many years. We have stayed at their resorts in NH & Cape Cod in New England, Puerto Vallarta & Mazatlan in MX, Vancouver & Victoria island in Canada, also Oregon and Waikiki Beach in Hawaii. Just got back from our first stay here since joining VI. I honestly have no idea why people complained in other comments, most of which seemed to be due to a lack of reading their confirmation email, but hey, not everyone is perfect... anyways, our condo was spacious and well equipped. Very clean, very peaceful. The courtyard was a great place to hang out with the kids and play soccer and catch, there are also bbqs, picnic tables, and games from the office that can be played out there. The staff were all very friendly, the grounds were clean, and, remembering everything from my booking confirmation email, I had absolutely no issues with checking in, no issues during stay, and no issues checking out. It was actually one of the quickest check ins and check outs I've ever done. As for the smell that some noted, I can't be sure, we didn't smell anything bad during our stay, that note is unfortunate for those that experienced that. We are excited to return. Oh, and the dumpster that's "across the parking lot" that people complained about, is essentially right outside the door that you will walk out when you check out, it's not some insane trek, people tend to complain more when they are upset, but chances are, your vehicle will be farther than the dumpster... read more

Recently updated and the rooms are nicely done. Even the studios provide complete kitchen. However, they do not provide a full resort experience. There is only a two-hour check-in window. They require $50 damage deposit, and will charge $25 for a lost key card. The key is important since the doors are locked at 6:00pm daily. There is no room service until the 9th day of your stay. They do not provide shampoo, conditioner or body lotion. After you've used four towels you must launder them yourself. Coffee is $1 per bag after the first one. You must take your own garbage out to the dumpster in the parking lot. Not surprised that the place is quieter than the cemetery down the road, except for the lawn mowing on the adjacent golf course at 5:00am. This was no vacation!! read more
