The Valencia Lakes Travel Club went on a 4 day tour of Jacksonville, St Augustine & Amelia Island. The Workman bus was spacious (56 seats) , clean, & modern. I've just gotta say, this was by far, the worst Thanksgiving we have ever experienced. From the getgo, the seats on the bus are tighter than Frontier airlines... get the picture? My legs were aching and so cramped as we sat with no leg room to spare with the seat in front of us. Then, we get to the Paddleboat and after sitting down, we were all so hungry and at our cramped table of 4, they finally put down 4 bite sized sticky rolls. When I asked if we could get a few more they said no. Then, we had a choice of a side to which we chose the "mac and cheese" which when it came looked and tasted more like "mush surprise" that you would find in a school lunchroom or hospital. The "turkey" (not sure it was), came on the plate as dry, shredded something but my husband assured me if I drowned it in gravy it was edible. The rest of the plate was a sample of green beans, stuffing (?) and some other bite sized morsel. Dessert was a bite sized square of apple pie or pumpkin pie. No rolls to go with dinner either and there were no seconds offered or given if requested. What a disaster and a HUGE disappointment. It was a $258 waste of good money! We could've gone to a food kitchen and had a real meal for nothing that would've far surpassed this pathetic offering, incredibly uncomfortable transport and hugely overpriced experience which we've decided to call an "adventure" never to be repeated. I reserved the shuttle to take me to the Orlando airport on a Saturday morning. I did have to get a ride to the pick up spot at the brown wood hotel, but tat was not a problem. The driver arrived right on time and loaded all passengers bags in the back. It was a small shuttle bus that could handle 18 people, but there were only six of us. Being an early Saturday run, it took us 59 minutes to arrive at terminal A, drop off people and continue to terminal B for my stop. Alan, was pleasant and courteous and did a great safe drive to our destination. They are charging a fuel surcharge due to the high fuel prices, but it was an efficient and money saving trip rather than have my wife drive me there and have to drive back home. read more

Like all businesses, things don't always go according to plan; especially when everyone is relying on machinery to get the job done. (Even the brand new stuff comes out of the factory with "goblins"). Workman Transportation was a timely & comfortable ride, safe & easy to use. Now, with Groome, instead of the comfort of a bus where you can relax for an hour, you are packed into a 14 passenger van. Returning home your chances of hopping on the next ride either early or late are minuscule. Fourteen passenger vans will more likely be all booked. My plane arrives at 1:07; however, Groome recommends that I book a reservation for 2:30 in case I can't make their 1:30 van. So I will likely be on a veritable "layover" before I leave the airport. read more

14 folks hired Workman transportation to take us round trip to the Port Canaveral cruise terminal on 5 Feb. The trip down was great. Outstanding bus and a really great driver. We had purchased a pickup at everyone's house. Driver had mapped out a pickup route and was on time. Bus was clean and had a bathroom on board. The return trip was a different story. Bus arrived on 12 Feb on time 0930. Older bus no underneith storage for luggage or a bathroom. Had o stack the luggage in a small compartment in the back. Required a bit of heavy lifting. For senior citizens. When we loaded since there was not a bathroom on board 3 ladies left to use the restroom in the terminal. Driver was not happy he had to wate on them. The bus was like riding on a school bus but with better seats. Could have used new shocks. a rather rough ride home. Driver took the turnpike and got off at Rt27 exit his choice. We had to ask twice to have the air turned down and when we ask twice to make a bathroom stop his answer nowhere to stop. Finally, he stopped at a WAWA . Upon getting to the villages, he the addresses of where he was to drop off the folks but did not know where they were. All passengers had to give him directions to their home. At each stop had to unload most of the luggage as it was not loaded with any direction as to who was first. Ome suite case was torn. When we called about this trip was told a supervisor would call me the next day. Today is 27 Feb have still not herd from anyone. I called numerous times, and each time received a different answer. we will not be using this company again read more

We just returned from a day trip to the Tampa Air Show. Everything was as advertised. The yacht was very clean and the staff was great. Our tour guide was Christine and she was delightful. Very knowledgeable about the tour and Tampa. Will definitely use them in the future. read more

we almost died and she broke the mirror off the bus. The bus was unbearably stinky before we got in it and until after the trip. The service was really bad and at one point the bus smelled like an ocean, she even left us stranded at the zoo to get the mirror fixed without any warning until she left then we received a message after the fact. We had to walk to our next destination due to being short a bus. read more

The customer service i received today was crap. Being new in town they have no where they say where the shuttle comes . Asked a representative at the airport snd she directs me to A24 pickup where I saw a village shuttle service but goes door to door drop off and my name wasnt there. The driver advises me to wait on the same gate A24. Suddenly i see far end another shuttle at A14 or A18 and while im running to catch that the lady driver sees me waving at her to stop as she was about to leave. The useless driver nods her head saying no and reverses and drives off . Making wait to take the last 1145 pm shuttle . Its 2018, time to train your staff to have customer etiquette. We've used this service before, they have picked up us in the past at the same house and somehow today the driver was seemingly incapable of finding the house, making us walk half a mile to find him. The entire time, as I tried to give step by step directions while looking at my phone's GPS, he cursed at me, saying things like "Oh Jesus Christ", "crap", "shit" and in a particular moment of excellence and professionalism, "This is bullshit". While interacting with the security of a gated community, he proceeded to complain about the 2000 pickups per week and how hard they were working. While I understand that he had other pickups after, this was a height of a lack of professionalism and I did not appreciate it whatsoever. We all have jobs, where we all have several things to do and we all work very hard. You are not the only person working and while in a professional environment, it is not professional to complain. Called 5 times this morning to finally get someone sent and family arrived at airport 45 minutes before flight left. Understand under new management and now called Workman Transportation. First, let me begin by saying it's an epic customer service fail when you provide no valid email address for customers! I was a passenger on the 7:00 am shuttle this morning (5/27). In the beginning of the trip to the airport, the air conditioner was moderately dripping water onto the back seat (right side). As the trip continued, the water became more frequent in the back row (both sides) and it dripped down onto my back, on my shirt, and on my head. I was in the back left seat. I had to move seats during the trip, while in motion. As we took an exit close to the airport, and the bus leaned to one side, it was a water fall onto the back seat (right side). It splattered all over the window and against the white metal. Two male passengers turned around and saw it too. It was unacceptable. I reported it to the driver at Brownwood and again at MCO. I would like a refund to be issued for the inconvenience of having water in my hair and on my shirt and having to watch it & worry about it the entire trip. Order # 177234 read more

I used The Villages Transportation to & from the Lake Sumter location and Orlando Airport. I was very happy with my choice. Both drivers were extremely professional and courteous. My only complaint is that on the trip back to airport, one passenger in Brownsville was apparently "at the lake" and we waited at least 15-20 minutes for him to show up. The company is very punctual and tells you in no uncertain terms you must be on time. There should be no exceptions. There were about 15 people on the bus who were inconvenienced by this inconsiderate jerk. read more

I took The Villages shuttle from Orlando Airport to The Villages and back. It cost $35.00 each way. Each time, I was able to catch the earlier shuttle with no problem. Both polite and professional drivers each way on clean comfortable 30 person buses. The reservation operator was great too. It's a great way to get here from the airport. read more

I'm disappointed to have to say that the customer service I received today is poor enough to push out the previous impression I had for this shuttle service. I realize I asked for an exception to the stated policy of no refunds within 48 hours, and I don't deny that I knew this. But, when trying to cancel one half of a reservation, I asked for a refund anyway because 1) I tried to cancel half my reservation online, but the web site didn't have the functionality to do so 2)I tried to call more than 48 hours out, but it was a holiday, and I only got a recording (they tell me if I'd waited, I would have gotten someone, but I really wanted to cancel in time, so I'm fairly sure that's not what I heard the recording say) 3)I did call with almost 24 hours notice, which is not unreasonable and 4)the drivers have told me that if I arrive at a different time than my reservation and they have room, they will accommodate me, and I don't see this as being different. When they would not give me a refund, I asked about a credit, which would have been acceptable, but they don't do those anymore. I will say they're putting in a refund request, so maybe I'll still get lucky. I've mostly had good experiences with the ease of use of the shuttle itself. However, their web site needs an overhaul, especially when it's used primarily by older and not terribly tech-savvy folks. It could use some user testing. This also is not inexpensive, and it's an industry where plans change, not always within 48 hours of the event. In a world where excellent customer service has become the mantra of many companies (many places would have reminded me it was an exception and done a refund anyway, no questions asked), it's not unreasonable to ask at a minimum for a credit, especially when the customer tells you they tried to contact you within the requested time frame. Everyone was polite, but I'm seriously considering not using the service again if their rule is so strict (48 hours? no credit for another reservation?) and staff is not encouraged to offer whatever is needed to satisfy the customer. read more

$130 dollars to go on a big bus from the villages to the airport? They say it's a shuttle that comes and picks you up, but that's only from your house to the bus depot as it turns out. From there you have to wait another 45 minutes just for the other bus to come. Leave an hour or two earlier than you would have otherwise for your flight or else this misleading company will definitely make you late. Never again. Chapter 1) Wednesday 7/12, due to storms, our flight was delayed. The moment we heard of the delay before we boarded the plane, we contacted The Villages Transportation to let them know. They said they would let the driver know that we would be delayed. Chapter 2) Our flight landed after midnight. The driver apparently did know and left us a voice mail while we were in the air, that he would wait until midnight at Terminal A. When we landed after midnight, we called to say we had arrived. The answering service person said that the driver would only wait until 11:45, and that he had probably already left, but we could check the Terminal A parking lot. We spoke again when there was no shuttle waiting and the answering service lady offered us a ride on the next shuttle at 6am. Really? Chapter 3) Tired and cranky from being abandoned, we jumped in a taxi home ($200). The shuttle driver (Ricky) left a voice message that we didn't received until after we were in the taxi. To his credit, he suggested that if we missed him we could go to the other Villages airport shuttle company, which offers 24/7 service. IF ONLY the message had been delivered to our phone before we grabbed the Taxi. Chapter 4) Called Thursday and spoke to someone at the office and explained the situation. She nicely explained the policy that the driver cannot wait for people. When I asked for a refund and the cost of the taxi ride she said she had to ask her manager, but the manager was out, so she would call me back. No call back and no message. Chapter 5) Called Friday and spoke to someone at the office and explained the situation. She politely and immediately transferred me to Claudine the office manager. Claudine informed me that the policy was to offer an in-house credit for the missed ride, and that I had already been given the in-house credit. Furthermore, delays were not their fault (not mine either) and that the driver is not allowed to wait due to airport regulations. Then she asked me if I was on the shuttle would I want it waiting for another passenger whose flight was delayed. Really? Telling me that was a mistake, because that tells me that they don't care about their customers. I told her I would like the entire $160 charge for the missed and future trip to be refunded to my credit card as I would not be using the service again. She immediately credited the $80 for the future trip to my card (requesting my card # again, fine), but that it was policy to offer an in-house credit for missed trips. If I wanted to review that decision with Scott Workman the owner, I was free to call him, but he is out of town until 7/24. I thanked her for her time and wished her a good day. What Claudine SHOULD have done was apologized for abandoning us at the airport after midnight, credited the money back for the missed ride, then offered us a free return trip to the airport. That would have reduced my anger from the boiling point and eliminated the need for this review and made sure I used the service again with a plan B to cover delays. Next time? i think we'll book a limousine for $150, because it's still cheaper than a taxi, and guaranteed to be there when you arrive. Is it possible to give NO stars? Abandoned me at the airport after 23 hour flight from China -- one would think the last 1 1/2 hours of my trip would be the easiest, but no, thanks to these clowns! Yes, I was at the designated pick-up location early. Problem was, the driver was there earlier and decided to leave early! 24-hour phone number is a joke as took them an hour to call me back after I had already secured a ride with one of their competitors! I booked a luxury sedan to take my wife and I to the airport. I was charged $27 gratuity, upfront. When I questioned this charge as not being particularly customer focused, I was informed that if the service was unacceptable, then I could call and receive a full refund of the gratuity. The car did not arrive and I had to call the driver who had no record of the pickup. After speaking to the office manager, I was offered a $20 refund (less than the gratuity). I found this insulting. The car arrived 35mins late. I am still waiting for my refund and communication with this company has been appalling. My recommendation would be to use a more professional company. read more

We are new to The Villages and I just used their shuttle bus to and from Orlando airport....very pleased with the service and driver....flight was delayed 3 hours coming home and so I called their number to see if I could catch the last shuttle of the day and they said yes and even called me to be sure I had made it....very happy with their service and both drivers were very nice and professional....would definitely use them again! The driver did wait an extra fifteen minutes for someone who was running to catch the shuttle and called in but we didn't mind as no one would want to be stranded all night with no way to get home since it was the last shuttle of the night. Travelers Beware of The Villages Transportation Airport Shuttle Service. On June 25, my flight to MCO was delayed to the point that I missed my shuttle and taxi service from the airport to my home. As soon as I knew I would miss the shuttle (last departure was at 11:45 p.m.) I notified their dispatcher. I made other arrangements to return home from airport - additional cost. The Villages Transportation will not refund my return trip (shuttle and taxi) because I did not cancel with a 48-hour notice. That would have been impossible since I had no control over the airlines. Their solution is to wait for the next shuttle, which would have left at 6 AM...for me a wait at the airport over 5 hours. I believe their policy is very unreasonable. I have contacted The Villages Transportation requesting a refund without success. I have left messages for the name of the supervisor I was given. She has not returned my calls. FYI, you don't need a reservation if they have room and you have correct change ($40). The busses are big, by-the-way. Of course they recommend reservations, but, as you can see from my experience, they don't treat customers with reservations well. read more
