This was supported by a live walkthrough for me to view what the repair person was talking about. The same afternoon (!) options were presented for replacement and a choice was made. An appointment was made and several days later the old furnace was taken out and a new furnace was installed in less than 4 hours. Everyone involved was extremely helpful and courteous. Bottom line: price quoted and installation met with no surprises. Clean space left with all old items and leftover stuff removed. I had called Action Heating and Air for my furnace service and found them to be dependable and professional, so I figured I would give them another try. I booked an appointment a few days out and Rick showed up... on time and ready to tackle the a/c inspection. He did brief me on what he would be doing and then quickly got to work (no rush as it was not hot, well not yet anyway). He did his inspection and cleaning of the unit briefing me along the way as to his findings. Once done, he cleaned up the work area and presented me with a very reasonable bill of service. Rick was extremely professional and friendly at all times during the service visit. Over the weekend while out of town on business, my heating unit stopped working. My Nest thermostat…read morewas set to 62F and when I returned, my house was a chilly 54F. Not good, I thought. After doing some basic troubleshooting - making sure the connections were fine and then swapping out Nest for my old thermostat, and seeing no improvement, I called for Birkley. They were able to come out to the house within a few hours, and gave me a courtesy call of 15 minutes prior to arrival so I could drive home. The technician went downstairs to do some troubleshooting, and while he was at it, he checked out the heating unit from top-to-bottom and gave it a good cleaning. Long story short, it ended up being that the neighbor had blocked the input/output pipes that led to the HE furnace. Once those were removed, the heating unit worked fine and now I have heat! Great, professional service. Allowed me to be inquisitive and showed me some of the workings of the furnace. At least now I know how some of it works!
