After checking the pickup area multiple times, I asked an employee for help. Instead of trying to figure out what happened, I was repeatedly asked if I was sure I ordered from this location, if someone else had picked it up, and if I had actually received confirmation. Yes, I was at the correct store. Yes, I received the confirmation. No, nobody else picked it up. What bothers me most is the pickup system itself. Orders are placed in bins right by the entrance, and customers simply walk up, grab their order, and leave. You don't have to show an employee your order confirmation, scan anything, or verify that the order you're taking actually belongs to you. It's basically an honor system for prepaid merchandise sitting right next to the door. Unsurprisingly, my order appears to have been taken by someone else. Mistakes happen, but this feels completely preventable. The entire point of in-store pickup is convenience, and this was the complete opposite. As a frequent Michaels customer, I expected much better, and I definitely will not be placing another pickup order at this location.

The owner of this store sold my wife a new Tonies box that was just released. The owner blatantly lied, saying that she was the only store that carries the newer boxes. She had my wife believing that she couldn't buy them anywhere else. I saw the same ones at Target that same day. I don't know why a business owner would intentionally deceive customers, especially about something that was easily proven wrong. We try to support small businesses as much as we can, and this kind of dishonesty hurts, and is what I'd expect from a big box toy store. Suffice it to say we won't be shopping there again.
