The boyfriend and I rang in 2019 in Hong Kong at Wooloomooloo Prime. The boyfriend and I initially had other plans, but decided to check out what Wooloomooloo could offer! We arrived around 10pm, and as expectedly the place was crowded! We had to pay an entrance fee, but it wasn't too bad as we were given 2 free drink vouchers per person. There were some seating restrictions in which the "rooftop bar," which is more like a small balcony combined with the dance floor was available to everyone, while the dining area was off limits unless you were dining or wanted to pay additional. The restaurant was festively decorated and the live band was going strong. This was my second time at Wooloomooloo, and it's a nice upscale restaurant and bar, but it is also extremely touristy. Not too many locals will go to a Wooloomooloo, so if this is not what you want to experience during your trip in Hong Kong then I would suggest going elsewhere. All in all, the boyfriend and I had a great time ringing in the New Year at Wooloomooloo. The views of the fireworks over the harbor were beautiful! read more

I came to Wooloomoloo for the October 1st Fireworks set menu and my review is based on that experience. I had read the reviews before coming and my expectations were good food at a high price with a spectacular view. The view was indeed amazing but the food was really disappointing. Food: 2 stars Environment/service: 2.5 stars View: 5 stars Value: 1 star Recommendations: none based on the set menu The set menu consisted of five courses and netted out at 1288 per set. We each had a glass of wine and a bottling of sparkling water and the grand total was over 3000 hkd after service charge. 1Smoked salmon with crab cake - This was my favorite dish of the evening. The crab cake was the best thing I ate all night. It was crispy and crab inside was delicious. The smoked salmon was paired with caviar and some turnips for crunch. The caviar didn't add too much but the smoked salmon quality was good. 2 foie gras- This is a classic dish. I prefer my foie gras warm and this preparation is served at room temp. The foie is paired with balsamic vinegar and a small cracker. I needed more balance with this as the fatty foie was really overpowering. 3 Cauliflower cappuccino - a cauliflower based soup which looked nice but really had no depth and flavor too it. This is where the meal really started to go downhill. 4 Wagyu tenderloin- Given Wooloomooloo is a steak house I expected this dish to be great. However, it was just ok. The beef just wasn't cooked properly. The seer on the steak was not done properly and the meat was under (asked for medium rare). The tomato sauce the steak was paired with was not a good choice. The mushrooms were the best part which is kind of sad. 5 Lobster and scallop - My wife ordered this dish and it was really bad. The lobster didn't seem fresh as there was no snap to the meat. The scallops were really small. They were better than the lobster but that is a low bar. The dish also came with a ravioli that was filled with a fish cake. The ravioli was really bad and completely didn't make any sense. The whole dish conceptually didn't make any sense and the poor execution made it worse. 6Trio of creme brûlée - Pretty mediocre dessert. The charred sugar crust is what you hope for in. Cream brûlée and that really wasn't present. There was an issue with the service of the meal all night. The dishes came out at sporadic intervals and often we would be waiting a long time between courses. Given the reputation of this restaurant I am hoping this is just an off night. read more

We did not eat here, but simply came to Wooloomooloo Prime having heard it is a great place to have a cocktail and take in the view. On both of these fronts, Wooloomooloo does not disappoint. We arrived early on a Saturday around 5:30PM and the bar area was not exceptionally busy. Thus, we were able to get a high top table for three right out on their small balcony area with the open air and the great view. THE VIEW FROM THE BAR IS EXCEPTIONAL! I understand why this place gets all the nods on being one of the best places to have a cocktail with a view in all of Hong Kong. I avoid crowds and we started here for a drink before heading to dinner elsewhere. It was the perfect time to go. This place might be a nightmare of people elbowing for great viewing space if it gets busier as the night goes on. We would absolutely go back here again and bring guests for the WOW factor of viewing Hong Kong, but would go again early to start the night or maybe late to end the night. My Grey Goose martini served up was done to perfection and they even offered to hand stuff blue cheese olives for me. Staff was quick and friendly and at that hour things are a bit more low key. They had a promotion at the time of handing out complimentary post cards of Hong Kong to fill out and address while enjoying our drink that Wooloomooloo Prime will then mail. It was a nice marketing touch not lost on us, nor our visiting guest who filled out the post card. Top notch view, top notch drink, top notch service. We will return. read more

Amazing view of HK from the outside patio!! I was able to make a last minute reservation for a party of 9 on a Friday night. I had a fantastic ginger spin on a Pimms Cup while we were waiting for the rest of our party. I had to run to the airport so I left dinner early, but the rest of my party enjoyed a full meal. I ordered a 280g filet mignon (huge) and it was cooked perfectly at medium rare. The truffles mashed potatoes and creamed spinach were excellent sides. I WhatsApp'd the restaurant from the US and they reserved us a table in advance very efficiently. Drinks/arrival - On arrival we had drinks on the roof terrace to appreciate the skyline and 'what a view' we picked the right place to see HK in all its glory and managed to catch the light show too. We had a range of cocktails and all of them were delicious! Food/restaurant - The restaurant had saved us a great window table which we requested in advance. The food here is pricey but I guess you are paying for the whole experience. The food was certainly worth it, I had the fillet steak which was amazing and my partner had 'the best beef Wellington EVER'. Service - This was excellent, from the person that greeted us, the lady taking drinks orders on the roof terrace and our waitress. Our waitress even arranged a surprise honeymoon dessert at the end of our meal. An even lovelier touch, the restaurant give you a postcode to write out and they send it back home. They have an amazing view of the Hong Kong skyline, with a small terrace and lounge that you can enjoy the view from if you're not interested in doing dinner. Due to my preggo state, I was unable to enjoy their steak. I ordered the baked salmon, and it was just okay. If you can, just stick with the steak! If you're interested in watching the Symphony of Lights, this is a great spot to do so. Wooloomooloo.. interesting name! It's located at the ONE, 21st floor.. awesome location in TST cos every local knows where it is. Nice view at the patio with a view of the water! I had a ceasar salad and a bottle of wine there. They made the ceasar salad right, but you know it was just a ceasar salad. Wine list was decent. Service was really good. Wonderful place for an after-dinner drink with friends. I can't review the food, but the Double Nut Espresso Martini made with Frangelico and Amaretto , the toasted coconut drink with coconut cream, pineapple, and a toasted coconut rim, and the Dutch Old Fashioned were all excellently made, and exactly what we needed to soothe our nerves as we discussed the disgusting state of yesterday's United States election. The view is stunning of course, and service was friendly even though we waited slightly longer than usual for our drinks. The only reason I would deduct one star is that the prices are quite high, and the music was too loud. Otherwise, fantastic. And as I understand it, they do not not up the volume of their music until later in the evening so if we had arrived earlier it might have been more chill. read more

Was there twice Around three weeks ago for Dinner great service and good food. Located on 21 floor it has a nice view towards central and Victoria Harbour. Today in May Just here at the rooftop bar to enjoy a nice wine and the view. But today the service is below all expectations. The red wine gasses are not cleaned properly, therefore the small particles of the cleaning cloth are still on the glass. Once filling in the wine the particles are swimming in the glass - even after asking to change the cone back with the same dirty glasses. And that's for a Glass of 178 HKD. read more

This is at the top floor if the One. This view is one of the best in Hong Kong and we are glad we booked here. Pro tip: the bar is open late so you aren't going to rush Dinner if you show up later. They gave us a window seat right in the corner. We ordered steaks OF COURSE. Filet and an aged sirloin. Ordered with hollandaise, but the sirloin came with 4 sauces peppercorn, mushroom, au jus all very good. Lobster bisque was fantastic. Finished with the Grande Mariner soufflé that was both light and delicious. We stuck around until after 11. It was just us and a private party in their own room left.... The best place about this restaurant? The amazing view of Hong Kong ! I have to say the view here is way better and nicer than the Victoria peak view. It's a lot clearer and what better way to enjoy it than with a nice dinner? I had the wooloomooloo ribeye and my sister had the filet mignon. I thought the ribeye was tastier than the filet. The sauce they give you on the side is a great addition instead of drenching your expensive steak with all the sauces. This place is definitely pricey, but so worth it for good food with a beautiful view. There is also a lounge area you can sit and drink. read more

Decided to try this instead of the usual Ruths Chris since it supposedly had a nice view. We arrived about 2:30. They seated us at a nice table by the window, and gave us lunch menus. Nothing on the lunch menu really looked like what we wanted, so we asked for dinner menus. I ordered the American 16 oz Ribeye, and my girl ordered the 10 oz Fillet. I really wanted the Wagyu ribeye, but, at over $300USD, that was a little much for meat that wasn't even Kobi... Also, they didn't know the Wagyu grade, so, I passed. We also ordered the Shrimp appetizer and the Caesar Salad. Told them we wanted to split the Caesar. Shrimp and Salad came out at the same time. They didn't give us any appetizer plates, and the waiter disappeared, so we used the bread plates for the Shrimp. We both just dug into the Caesar salad, totally ignoring the Kooties that we might be sharing... Shrimp was OK. Salad could have used more dressing, but, no waiter in sight, so, we just dealt with it. Steaks came, I ordered Medium Charred, and it came rare charred. Ok. I dealt with it once again, since the waiter was nowhere to be found, again... Steak was yummy. No salt on the steak or the table. No waiter to ask for some, either, again. My girl liked her steak. Overall, decent place. Overpriced, but great view. I would go to Ruths Chris before here next time. read more

I had the Beef Wellington and I can honestly say it has to be THE BEST I've ever had! In fact in 40+ years, my food ranked as probably one of the most enjoyable meals I've ever eaten! I went to this place with friends gathering. OH WOW. the view is 100% one of the best view in Hong Kong. It was very spectacular. We were sit at the happy hour area which is half indoor/half outdoor. Drinks menu are good with lots of options and varieties. After having few hours drinks, we decided to go to the dinning area. It was actually bigger than I thought. Had a horrible experience here. The service was nonexistent (sometimes literally). Twice I had to get up and go find our server. The steak was seasoned OK (I ordered the Wooloomooloo steak), but I ordered it medium and it came out rare. Usually not a huge issue, but after waiting 10 minutes for someone to come to the table, I had to get up and find someone to get it fixed. Come to Hong Kong twice a year and typically eat here every trip. One of the best views of Hong Kong (there are many) and the food is fantastic as well. If all you want to know is if the food is good, the answer is yes. My USA prime rib steak was excellent and my friends cod was delicious. The asparagus was perfectly cooked and the hollandaise sauce was fresh that day and spectacular in-depth. The starters, a lobster bisque was average at best and the garlic sauteed prawns were really prawns soaked in a mild lobster sauce. Both were unspectacular. The thing that got me the most about this place was that the staff did not speak Mandarin. In fact when I asked for a Mandarin menu they just said we don't have one. How's that possible in the heart of Hong Kong that was just returned to China few years ago. It's not only insulting to the local people of which I am not one, but seems traditionally wrong. I know this is not the spot for Political conversation but it's just good manners to offer menus in the national language of the location that the restaurant is in. As my friend only spoke Mandarin I was required to translate the English menu which considering my Mandarin was difficult at best. And one last comment, the address is not on Hennessy it's on the street north of Hennessy so the taxi will let you off at Hennessy Street but you have to walk around the block through the gas station to get to the front entrance of the building then up to the 31st floor. The service here is horrible. First it took waiting in line for 20 minutes before you can even arrive at this restaurant since there's only 1 elevator that serves this floor. Then they couldn't find the reservation because they misspelled the name. When I gave them the number, they didn't even confirm if it was right or wrong and spent a minute tapping the screen ignoring me until I finally asked if it's the right number. Then the hostess got interrupted by a waitress and started checking if the person that just got seated was correctly seated and went to check that reservation while making me wait until they sorted that issue. When I finally sat down, the waiters ignored me for 15 minutes until I got fed up and finally stood up and tracked a waiter down to ask for a simple glass of water.
