There is a little way to go, eg in carpet and curtain dept but she appears to be making a darn good job of it. We had a spacious front bay windowed room with all that we required. She makes a delightful and attentive host , and goes out of her way to satisfy her guests. Other than for the excellent breakfast, we didnt get chance to try the restaurant as we had a wedding reception first night, and had arranged to have Sunday lunch with some local friends on the Sunday lunchtime. But I understand a new chef has arrived, and they certainly had a good number of casual people coming in for Sunday lunch without bookings. We arent often visiting this area, but I wouldnt have any hesitation in coming here again. Its about 3-4 miles west of Midhurst, down a country road on the left , just before Trotton bridge.

However, knowing our thoughts on the above, we were encouraged to try the Park House Hotel and in short, we'll be going again! The service was magnificent, the food wonderful and the facilities second to none. The swimming pool (indoor) and spa are set in the most excellent building. There is also golf (small, but suitable for my declining level!) and optional cycling (we tried, but we're probably too old!). In all, we spent two extremely relaxing nights there and I look forward to doing the same again next year.

OK, it wasn't cheap - we went for the cream tea with extra cake & biscuits for £19.50 for the 2 of us. We could have gone elsewhere & saved a bit but to hell with the expense - we were on holiday! The hotel is wonderful with a grand atmosphere. We sat out in the conservatory & awaited the arrival of out tea. 15 mins later & 4 scones, a large bowl of clotted cream, 4 mini pots of Tiptree Raspberry jam, 2 flat round shortbreads, 2 round chocolate biscuits, 2 pieces of date cake, a large pot of tea, extra water, milk & assorted sugar cubes were placed on a large tray before us! The scones & biscuits were obviously fresh & by the time it came to the biscuits, we were both moving a little slower! There was also a wedding reception taking place. I walked past where the staff were putting the finishing touches on the deserts with pride & care. Leilah walked past earlier & said that the beef looked & smelt spectacular. Well worth the money!

The owners Nikki and Andy are very friendly and kind (not to forget their Yorkie Susie is adorable!) and you'd feel like you're staying with your family - it may be more so as we're here for more than a month now. The place is very clean and in a quiet neighborhood, 15 minutes walk to Petersfield town centre. I don't want to tell too many people about this cute little B&B because I don't want it to be fully booked when we want to come back in future....but I wanted to add this place to Yelp and couldn't help not writing a review!

Greeted instantly at the reception with a young girl with a huge smile on her face. She checked us in quickly and we were in our room within 5 minutes. Very pleased with the quality of the room for the price that we paid - when I hand over less than £50 for a room I am always dubious of what I am going to be faced with when I open the hotel room door! After freshening up we went downstairs and had a meal in the on-site restaurant. Food was very good and reasonably priced too. A great nights sleep in a very comfy bed!

We also had dinner which was so delicious. The staff was so nice and attentive from the moment we got there until we left the following morning. I wish we could have stayed two nights, as we missed the golf course and I believe it was a croquet field but I'm not positive. I would definitely recommend this place and I would stay here again if I was ever in the area! This is like a step back in time but with all the comforts of modern day luxury. We stayed one night in a deluxe suite which was HUGE, and had the best ensuite bathroom I have ever seen. Not even the Cafe Royal in London comes close. That night we had drinks in the garden courtyard, followed by the most exquisite meal we have ever had. We LOVE our food - but this was a gastronomical experience we will never forget. It is a degustation - you will feel like you have to be rolled out of there. The portions are small but there are more than 10 courses, each one getting progressively better and more beautiful. It's expensive - save it for a special occasion. The chef is a master. Also if you get a chance, the little tea room in the village is PERFECTION. We had afternoon tea there with scones, home made strawberry jam and clotted cream. Go for a walk to wear the food coma off. The grounds are like something out of a picture book. There's a terrace on the outside of the wall for sunset viewing. If I could afford it, I would get married here. At least dreams are free.
