Great First Experience at Cineplex VIP!…read more My partner and I recently visited Cineplex VIP at Downtown Markham for *The Odyssey* on Tuesday, and we had a really enjoyable experience! The Tuesday offer was around $19 per person, which we felt was a good value for the VIP experience. We arrived about 10 minutes early and spent some time relaxing in the VIP lounge before the movie. The lounge was comfortable, and there was a bar where you could order both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. There are nicer, cleaner washrooms too. One of the highlights for us was being able to borrow a closed-captioning device, this service should be available for non-VIP seats. As non-native English speakers, we really appreciated this, especially for a movie that was almost three hours long. The captions made it much easier for us to follow the dialogue and enjoy the movie without constantly worrying about missing something. We also ordered boneless chicken wings directly from our seats. The food was decent and reasonably priced, and the service was excellent. The staff were friendly, attentive, and happy to help. We even asked for some water, and they brought it right to our seats. Overall, this was our first Cineplex VIP experience, and we really enjoyed it. The comfortable lounge, closed-captioning option, seat-side food service, and friendly staff made the whole movie night feel much more relaxing and enjoyable than a regular theatre visit. The sound system in this theater was supposed to give you an out of this world cinema experience. The laser projection picture quality was really good. However the movie did not offer any good action or sound effects. This movie should have been playing in the regular theater. The tickets came up to $45.20. Once you factor in snacks and drinks, your movie night may cost you around $70 +. There are a couple of concessions options : popcorn, candies, snacks. Hot dogs, burgers, poutines were at Outakes. Cinescape arcade area where you can play games and earn tickets. Some of the games are showing their age. They probably need to upgrade some of their machines soon. Basketball game speaker and screen no longer works properly. Overall the theater is pretty clean and spacious. There are party spaces for birthday parties. The theatres are showing their age and need to upgrade their sound systems.

There was a seat that was broken at the back of the row and they had to keep the seat empty at this point. Not sure how they were able to handle with people buying their seat(s) online in advance. The area is a little bit moldy and smelly and is in due for a deep clean. I guess the reason why the cinema is still existent as it is linked to a mall and they get a lot of business because there isn't another cinema nearby. Parking is limited by the cinema entrance. Highly recommend to Just park further to avoid the people exiting once a movie is over. There is an arcade downstairs with games to play an and to kill time before a movie starts. Once the movie is over, can go to TNT aftewards to do some grocery shopping as the supermarket opens late.

I was there on Christmas Eve to see Star Wars and it wasn't busy at all. I don't feel like this place gets overly busy, so it was nice not to fight a crowd. The ticket pricing is fantastic, $11.99 each for 3D. Snacks are the usual price gouge. Service was polite at the concession stand, no lines. i bought the tickets online and picked them up at a kiosk. Super easy. I'll be back to this theatre!
