Water after they "fixed" my problem.

Worst decision in contact this company. Please stay away. I called them Just because I saw their info in my basement from previous owners. This company was so Expensive and takes forever to communicate. They didn't solve my problem yet since January 2025. Unprofessional workers around 7 different people came to tell me different stories of why I got water in my basement before and after they put a system. they gave your different estimates, different solutions to one problem, really? They broke my floor tile with no care so I had to replace it, and they broke one of my windows and of course I found out the next day they came. After several calls and complains they finally decide to come and see the window (it's being almost a month and haven't hear from my window since June 28) yes I called them several times!!! After work was "completed" they charge me an amount and after some weeks later they charge me with an unpaid balance. They never sent me a bill. But of course they told me to pay completely and that it was an internal error. I did paid and they promise to fix my window in a week. Still waiting on them. What a rip of!!!

Present Day - solid craftsmanship, am I right?

***Please note: the "apology" below comes two years after I posted this review. That should tell you everything you need to know about this company. My egress window still looks terrible and I've had to do repairs to fix some leaks because I didn't want to mess with this company another second. You'll regret going with them, I assure you.

Tacky. Unsafe battery pack just left on the floor. If the system malfunctions and water spews, will this cause a fire?

When you need work done on your home, you want the best to do it. I got quotes from 2 other places that came in under what Woods Basements price but again, I wanted the best. I signed the contract, paid my deposit a little over 45 days in advance. I get a call from a representative with Woods Basement less than 24 hours before they were due to start at my house saying there's a scheduling conflict and they needed to change the date. I said absolutely not, I took the day off work already and was not willing to change the date. A few hours later, they called back and said they'd honor the date and they'll be at my house at 9am the next day. The next day comes and at 845am, I get a call saying they're running behind and will be there shortly. Finally, they arrived; 50 minutes late! Now I'm frustrated. They began the work. I left them alone and the 2-man crew that was working seemed to be working very diligently. I don't think they took a break but I left the house a few times so who knows. About halfway through the day, a representative called me and asked me how it was going. I told her about the crew being late and she did not care at all . She just skipped right to her next question. I made sure I said it again to which she said "scheduling conflicts." Towards the end, the head guy tells me that I could benefit from adding another piece to the drainage system and that would cost an extra $250. I was leery but I did it. They finally finished around 730/8pm. That was a long day of work for them. I wrote a check for the remainder of the balance and off they went. I didn't get the option for a receipt for payment or anything in writing for the work they did. After they left, I found my driveway filthy from the remnants the crew left behind. Gravel and dirt left where their trailer was parked. I spent 30 minutes sweeping up the mess. The battery from the back up pump that they installed was just left on the floor. I would've like to have an option to have it out of the way. Very tacky in my opinion. The next day, I go down in my basement to inspect the system and I can see daylight coming from my foundation where they drilled for the drainage pipe to discharge. I don't know anything about basement systems but I can definitely say this was not correct. The gaping holes would for sure let bugs in and my heating and cooling to escape. I waited for 7 days and called the office to voice my concerns. I spoke with Roselle. She told me to send pictures of my complaints and she would be in contact with me the next business day to schedule a time for the crew to come out. She then sends me to another department so that I could get a copy of my receipt and warranty paperwork. I was told by that department that they don't issue that paperwork normally but only if you request it. That's weird but, whatever. What business doesn't automatically issue a receipt for paid services? They then emailed it to me. The next business day comes and goes. No calls. No emails. No attempts of contact from Woods Basement. Actually, 4 business days pass with no contact so finally I called back to get something worked out. I spoke with Monica and she seemed somewhat interested in my complaints, more than the other lady for sure. She worked something out and the next day, they call and said someone would be out to fix the gaping holes that were left and they were 25 minutes away. I wasn't home so they did everything from the outside. The battery pack still looks tacky as it just sits on the floor, in the way. I guess I have to figure that part out on my own. I went with this company based on reviews and reputation alone. Again, Woods was not the best price for what I wanted done but I bypassed that and still went with them. Would I have them out again?Highly unlikely. Only for warranty issues. Would I recommend them to family and friends. Probably not. I'm having a severe case of buyer's remorse.

Does anyone know what product(s) WBS uses to seal a driveway?

This is from an email sent by Woods in July 2018: It is recommended that all joints in concrete be sealed with a polyurethane sealant to prevent problems with erosion in the future.

We did a fair amount of internet research on the various suggested solutions and on the companies we had heard from. We selected Permajack of St. Louis both because we decided that their solution and methods seemed preferable and because their bid was reasonable ... not the lowest but not outlandish. Everything about dealing with them was professional. Calls were returned promptly. Questions answered quickly. The project was completed as promised and on time. The crew was respectful of our home and property and did everything they could to mitigate the noise and inconvenience. They even went so far as to hook up the washer and dryer when they were done, without being asked, after we expressed some concern about being able to use them while the cement cured. When the crew left, the work area was spotless and the whole process had been much less painful than we expected. I would absolutely recommend Permajack of St. Louis.

Their teams did an excellent job not only on my basement, but you couldn't even tell that they had to dig large holes in my front yard to anchor my foundation wall. The lawn was repaired so well I could barely tell where they dug. All of their staff were professional, on time, and cleaned up when the job was complete. We are very happy with their work.

While nothing about French drains or foundation repair is fun, exciting or cheap; we knew we had to get some of this work done to our home due to some minor flooding/cracks in the foundation. After doing some research and asking for bids, we decided to work with FRS since we knew they would do a thorough job and offer a nice warranty for their work. Not to mention how everyone we worked with was super helpful and friendly and they explained lots of things to us in ways that we could understand. When you are going to spend $$$ on something as massive as a french drain and foundation repair, you really want to make sure you have some of the best people to work with and FRS was it for us. Earlier this week, we had Dylan and Sam out at the house so they could work on the side to help us with drainage and repairing the foundation. I really have no idea how this is done, but they managed to do it in just under 3 days and took great care of the yard and our neighbors yard while they were working so they did not make a mess or damage anything. Knowing that these giant house repairs have been completed, I know that our house will be taken care of we won't be experiencing any more damage. I know they will come out again in the future to just check in to make sure everything is still working correctly and I feel secure knowing they will take care of anything thanks to the warranty they offer on their work.

Two words that make every homeowner cringe are, "Wet basement"…read more It doesn't matter if it is inches deep or just minor seeping around the edges. It's still a major repair that needs immediate attention. It's better to do it, sooner than, later. My house has only a partial basement, the majority of it is finished crawl space. I have a laundry room upstairs, so all that is in my basement is the furnace and extensive shelving units for storage. With that being stated, I rarely have any need to go down into my basement. When I did venture down after one of the early spring down pours, I discovered I had an issue. It wasn't major, but I wanted it fixed before it became one. Again, being new to the RIverbend area, I reached out to friends and family for recommendations. Everyone of them said the same thing, "Midwest Basement". So it was a no-brainer on calling them to do the job. They came and gave me an estimate, explained what they would be doing and told me what I needed to move to make the work area more accessible. When scheduling a time, they were accommodating to my unique work schedule. Best of all, it was a smooth job and they completed the job faster and easier than anticipated. I could not have been happier with the work team. They were all very professional, friendly and respectful of my property. Their clean-up at the end of each day was impressive in itself. The weather has been dry since my work was completed, so I'm waiting for the next rain to really check things out. However, a friend who used them in the past, lived in his house for another 13 years after the work was completed and never had water again. I'm hoping for the same positive results.
